ਸੁਣਿ ਮੀਤਾ ਧੂਰੀ ਕਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥ sun meetaa dhooree kau bal jaaee | Listen, friends: I am a sacrifice to the dust of Your feet. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਭਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ eihu man teraa bhaaee | rahaau | This mind is yours, O Siblings of Destiny. ||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪਾਵ ਮਲੋਵਾ ਮਲਿ ਮਲਿ ਧੋਵਾ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਤੈ ਕੂ ਦੇਸਾ ॥ paav malovaa mal mal dhovaa ihu man tai koo desaa | I wash your feet, I massage and clean them; I give this mind to you. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੁਣਿ ਮੀਤਾ ਹਉ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਆਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਉ ਦੇਹੁ ਉਪਦੇਸਾ ॥੨॥ sun meetaa hau teree saranaaee aaeaa prabh milau dehu upadesaa |2| Listen, friends: I have come to Your Sanctuary; teach me, that I might unite with God. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਾਨੁ ਨ ਕੀਜੈ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੀਜੈ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਭਲਾ ਮਨਾਈਐ ॥ maan na keejai saran pareejai karai su bhalaa manaaeeai | Do not be proud; seek His Sanctuary, and accept as good all that He does. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੁਣਿ ਮੀਤਾ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਤਨੁ ਅਰਪੀਜੈ ਇਉ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੩॥ sun meetaa jeeo pindd sabh tan arapeejai iau darasan har jeeo paaeeai |3| Listen, friends: dedicate your soul, body and your whole being to Him; thus you shall receive the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਭਇਓ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਹੈ ਮੀਠਾ ॥ bheo anugrahu prasaad santan kai har naamaa hai meetthaa | He has shown mercy to me, by the Grace of the Saints; the Lord’s Name is sweet to me. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਸਭੁ ਅਕੁਲ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਡੀਠਾ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੨॥ jan naanak kau gur kirapaa dhaaree sabh akul niranjan ddeetthaa |4|1|12| The Guru has shown mercy to servant Nanak; I see the casteless, immaculate Lord everywhere. ||4||1||12|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਕੋਟਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਕੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਰਬ ਜੀਆ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਰੇ ॥ kott brahamandd ko tthaakur suaamee sarab jeea kaa daataa re | God is the Lord and Master of millions of universes; He is the Giver of all beings. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੈ ਨਿਤ ਸਾਰਿ ਸਮਾਲੈ ਇਕੁ ਗੁਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਮੂਰਖਿ ਜਾਤਾ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ pratipaalai nit saar samaalai ik gun nahee moorakh jaataa re |1| He ever cherishes and cares for all beings, but the fool does not appreciate any of His virtues. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧਿ ਨ ਜਾਨਾ ਰੇ ॥ har aaraadh na jaanaa re | I do not know how to worship the Lord in adoration. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਰੇ ॥ har har gur gur karataa re | I can only repeat, “Lord, Lord, Guru, Guru.” - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਿਓ ਰਾਮਦਾਸੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ har jeeo naam pario raamadaas | rahaau | O Dear Lord, I go by the name of the Lord’s slave. ||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਸਰਬ ਘਟਾ ਭਰਪੂਰੀ ਰੇ ॥ deen deaal kripaal sukh saagar sarab ghattaa bharapooree re | The Compassionate Lord is Merciful to the meek, the ocean of peace; He fills all hearts. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪੇਖਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਸੰਗੇ ਮੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਦੂਰੀ ਰੇ ॥੨॥ pekhat sunat sadaa hai sange mai moorakh jaaniaa dooree re |2| He sees, hears, and is always with me; but I am a fool, and I think that He is far away. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਅੰਤੁ ਹਉ ਮਿਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਵਰਨਉ ਕਿਆ ਜਾਨਾ ਹੋਇ ਕੈਸੋ ਰੇ ॥ har biant hau mit kar varnau kiaa jaanaa hoe kaiso re | The Lord is limitless, but I can only describe Him within my limitations; what do I know, about what He is like? - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਉ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਮੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਦੇਹੁ ਉਪਦੇਸੋ ਰੇ ॥੩॥ krau benatee satigur apune mai moorakh dehu upadeso re |3| I offer my prayer to my True Guru; I am so foolish - please, teach me! ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਕੀ ਕੇਤਕ ਬਾਤ ਹੈ ਕੋਟਿ ਪਰਾਧੀ ਤਰਿਆ ਰੇ ॥ mai moorakh kee ketak baat hai kott paraadhee tariaa re | I am just a fool, but millions of sinners just like me have been saved. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਿਨ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਪੇਖਿਆ ਸੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਗਰਭਾਸਿ ਨ ਪਰਿਆ ਰੇ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੩॥ gur naanak jin suniaa pekhiaa se fir garabhaas na pariaa re |4|2|13| Those who have heard, and seen Guru Nanak, do not descend into the womb of reincarnation again. ||4||2||13|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਜਿਨਾ ਬਾਤ ਕੋ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਅੰਦੇਸਰੋ ਤੇ ਮਿਟੇ ਸਭਿ ਗਇਆ ॥ jinaa baat ko bahut andesaro te mitte sabh geaa | Those things, which caused me such anxiety, have all vanished. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਹਜ ਸੈਨ ਅਰੁ ਸੁਖਮਨ ਨਾਰੀ ਊਧ ਕਮਲ ਬਿਗਸਇਆ ॥੧॥ sehaj sain ar sukhaman naaree aoodh kamal bigaseaa |1| Now, I sleep in peace and tranquility, and my mind is in a state of deep and profound peace; the inverted lotus of my heart has blossomed forth. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦੇਖਹੁ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਭਇਆ ॥ dekhahu acharaj bheaa | Behold, a wondrous miracle has happened! - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਹ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਉ ਸੁਨਤ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਬੋਧਿ ਸੋ ਰਿਦੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਦਇਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jih tthaakur kau sunat agaadh bodh so ridai gur deaa | rahaau | That Lord and Master, whose wisdom is said to be unfathomable, has been enshrined within my heart, by the Guru. ||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੋਇ ਦੂਤ ਮੋਹਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਸੰਤਾਵਤ ਤੇ ਭਇਆਨਕ ਭਇਆ ॥ joe doot mohi bahut santaavat te bheaanak bheaa | The demons which tormented me so much, have themselves become terrified. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਹਿ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਰਾਖੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਤੇ ਹਮ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨਇਆ ॥੨॥ kareh benatee raakh tthaakur te ham teree saraneaa |2| They pray: please, save us from your Lord Master; we seek your protection. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਹ ਭੰਡਾਰੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕਾ ਖੁਲਿਆ ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਿ ਤਿਹ ਲਇਆ ॥ jeh bhanddaar gobind kaa khuliaa jih praapat tih leaa | When the treasure of the Lord of the Universe is opened, those who are pre-destined, receive it. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਏਕੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਥਿਆ ॥੩॥ ek ratan mo kau gur deenaa meraa man tan seetal thiaa |3| The Guru has given me the one jewel, and my mind and body have become peaceful and tranquil. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਏਕ ਬੂੰਦ ਗੁਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਦੀਨੋ ਤਾ ਅਟਲੁ ਅਮਰੁ ਨ ਮੁਆ ॥ ek boond gur amrit deeno taa attal amar na muaa | The Guru has blessed me with the one drop of Ambrosial Nectar, and so I have become stable, unmoving and immortal - I shall not die. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਭਗਤਿ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਸਉਪੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਲੇਖਾ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਲਇਆ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੪॥ bhagat bhanddaar gur naanak kau saupe fir lekhaa mool na leaa |4|3|14| The Lord blessed Guru Nanak with the treasure of devotional worship, and did not call him to account again. ||4||3||14|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਨਾ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਈ ॥ charan kamal siau jaa kaa man leenaa se jan tripat aghaaee | Those whose minds are attached to the lotus feet of the Lord - those humble beings are satisfied and fulfilled. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਣ ਅਮੋਲ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਨ ਵਸਿਆ ਤੇ ਨਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਖਾਈ ॥੧॥ gun amol jis ridai na vasiaa te nar trisan trikhaaee |1| But those, within whose hearts the priceless virtue does not abide - those men remain thirsty and unsatisfied. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧੇ ਅਰੋਗ ਅਨਦਾਈ ॥ har aaraadhe arog anadaaee | Worshipping the Lord in adoration, one becomes happy, and free of disease. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਾਮ ਸਨੇਹੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਲਾਖ ਬੇਦਨ ਜਣੁ ਆਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jis no visarai meraa raam sanehee tis laakh bedan jan aaee | rahaau | But one who forgets my Dear Lord - know him to be afflicted with tens of thousands of illnesses. ||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
