ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਕਟੀਐ ਸਚੜੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥ bhram maaeaa vichahu katteeai sacharrai naam samaae | Doubt and Maya have been removed from within me, and I am merged in the Naam, the True Name of the Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥ sachai naam samaae har gun gaae mil preetam sukh paae | Merged in the True Name of the Lord, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord; meeting my Beloved, I have found peace. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦਿ ਰਹੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਹੰਉਮੈ ਜਾਏ ॥ sadaa anand rahai din raatee vichahu hnaumai jaae | I am in constant bliss, day and night; egotism has been dispelled from within me. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਜਿਨੀ ਪੁਰਖੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਹੰਉ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਏ ॥ jinee purakhee har naam chit laaeaa tin kai hnau laagau paae | I fall at the feet of those who enshrine the Naam within their consciousness. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਕਾਂਇਆ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਤਾਂ ਥੀਐ ਜਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੨॥ kaaneaa kanchan taan theeai jaa satigur le milaae |2| The body becomes like gold, when the True Guru unites one with Himself. ||2|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸੋ ਸਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥ so sachaa sach salaaheeai je satigur dee bujhaae | We truly praise the True Lord, when the True Guru imparts understanding. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਣੀਆ ਕਿਆ ਮੁਹੁ ਦੇਸਨਿ ਆਗੈ ਜਾਏ ॥ bin satigur bharam bhulaaneea kiaa muhu desan aagai jaae | Without the True Guru, they are deluded by doubt; going to the world hereafter, what face will they display? - Guru Amardas Ji
ਕਿਆ ਦੇਨਿ ਮੁਹੁ ਜਾਏ ਅਵਗੁਣਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਏ ਦੁਖੋ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਮਾਏ ॥ kiaa den muhu jaae avagun pachhutaae dukho dukh kamaae | What face will they show, when they go there? They will regret and repent for their sins; their actions will bring them only pain and suffering. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੀਆ ਸੇ ਰੰਗਿ ਚਲੂਲਾ ਪਿਰ ਕੈ ਅੰਕਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥ naam rateea se rang chaloolaa pir kai ank samaae | Those who are imbued with the Naam are dyed in the deep crimson color of the Lord’s Love; they merge into the Being of their Husband Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਤਿਸੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਸੂਝਈ ਕਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਕਹੀਐ ਜਾਏ ॥ tis jevadd avar na soojhee kis aagai kaheeai jaae | I can conceive of no other as great as the Lord; unto whom should I go and speak? - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸੋ ਸਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥੩॥ so sachaa sach salaaheeai je satigur dee bujhaae |3| We truly praise the True Lord, when the True Guru imparts understanding. ||3|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਜਿਨੀ ਸਚੜਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹਿਆ ਹੰਉ ਤਿਨ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਏ ॥ jinee sacharraa sach salaahiaa hnau tin laagau paae | I fall at the feet of those who praise the Truest of the True. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸੇ ਜਨ ਸਚੇ ਨਿਰਮਲੇ ਤਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਮਲੁ ਸਭ ਜਾਏ ॥ se jan sache niramale tin miliaa mal sabh jaae | Those humble beings are true, and immaculately pure; meeting them, all filth is washed off. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਤਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਮਲੁ ਸਭ ਜਾਏ ਸਚੈ ਸਰਿ ਨਾਏ ਸਚੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥ tin miliaa mal sabh jaae sachai sar naae sachai sehaj subhaae | Meeting them, all filth is washed off; bathing in the Pool of Truth, one becomes truthful, with intuitive ease. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥ naam niranjan agam agochar satigur deea bujhaae | The True Guru has given me the realization of the Naam, the Immaculate Name of the Lord, the unfathomable, the imperceptible. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥ anadin bhagat kareh rang raate naanak sach samaae | Those who perform devotional worship to the Lord night and day, are imbued with His Love; O Nanak, they are absorbed in the True Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਜਿਨੀ ਸਚੜਾ ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਹੰਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਏ ॥੪॥੪॥ jinee sacharraa sach dhiaaeaa hnau tin kai laagau paae |4|4| I fall at the feet of those who meditate on the Truest of the True. ||4||4|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ ਵਡ ਹੰਸ ਹੈ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ॥ sabad rate vadd hans hai sach naam ur dhaar | The great swans are imbued with the Word of the Shabad; they enshrine the True Name within their hearts. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਚੁ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹਹਿ ਸਦ ਸਚਿ ਰਹਹਿ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥ sach sangraheh sad sach raheh sachai naam piaar | They gather Truth, remain always in Truth, and love the True Name. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਲਗਈ ਨਦਰਿ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ॥ sadaa niramal mail na lagee nadar keetee karataar | They are always pure and immaculate - filth does not touch them; they are blessed with the Grace of the Creator Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਣੈ ਜੋ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਪਹਿ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ naanak hau tin kai balihaaranai jo anadin japeh muraar |1| O Nanak, I am a sacrifice to those who, night and day, meditate on the Lord. ||1|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਮੈ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਵਡ ਹੰਸੁ ਹੈ ਤਾ ਮੈ ਕੀਆ ਸੰਗੁ ॥ mai jaaniaa vadd hans hai taa mai keea sang | I thought that he was a great swan, so I associated with him. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਜੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਬਗੁ ਬਪੁੜਾ ਤ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਦੇਦੀ ਅੰਗੁ ॥੨॥ je jaanaa bag bapurraa ta janam na dedee ang |2| If I had known that he was only a wretched heron from birth, I would not have touched him. ||2|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਹੰਸਾ ਵੇਖਿ ਤਰੰਦਿਆ ਬਗਾਂ ਭਿ ਆਯਾ ਚਾਉ ॥ hansaa vekh tarandiaa bagaan bhi aayaa chaau | Seeing the swans swimming, the herons became envious. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਡੁਬਿ ਮੁਏ ਬਗ ਬਪੁੜੇ ਸਿਰੁ ਤਲਿ ਉਪਰਿ ਪਾਉ ॥੩॥ ddub mue bag bapurre sir tal upar paau |3| But the poor herons drowned and died, and floated with their heads down, and their feet above. ||3|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਆਪਿ ਕਾਰਣੁ ਕੀਆ ॥ too aape hee aap aap hai aap kaaran keea | You Yourself are Yourself, all by Yourself; You Yourself created the creation. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਕੋ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਬੀਆ ॥ too aape aap nirankaar hai ko avar na beea | You Yourself are Yourself the Formless Lord; there is no other than You. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੂ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਹੈ ਤੂ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੁ ਥੀਆ ॥ too karan kaaran samarath hai too kareh su theea | You are the all-powerful Cause of causes; what You do, comes to be. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੂ ਅਣਮੰਗਿਆ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਵਣਾ ਸਭਨਾਹਾ ਜੀਆ ॥ too anamangiaa daan devanaa sabhanaahaa jeea | You give gifts to all beings, without their asking. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਭਿ ਆਖਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੀਆ ॥੧॥ sabh aakhahu satigur vaahu vaahu jin daan har naam mukh deea |1| Everyone proclaims, “Waaho! Waaho!” Blessed, blessed is the True Guru, who has given the supreme gift of the Name of the Lord. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
