ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਨੁ ਸਭਨੀ ਹੈ ਲੀਤਾ ॥੨॥ kahu naanak tis jan balihaaree teraa daan sabhanee hai leetaa |2| Says Nanak, I am a sacrifice to such a humble being. O Lord, You bless all with Your bountiful blessings. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਉ ਭਾਣਾ ਤਾਂ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥ tau bhaanaa taan tripat aghaae raam | When it pleases You, then I am satisfied and satiated. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਨੁ ਥੀਆ ਠੰਢਾ ਸਭ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥ man theea tthandtaa sabh trisan bujhaae raam | My mind is soothed and calmed, and all my thirst is quenched. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਨੁ ਥੀਆ ਠੰਢਾ ਚੂਕੀ ਡੰਝਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਖਜਾਨਾ ॥ man theea tthandtaa chookee ddanjhaa paaeaa bahut khajaanaa | My mind is soothed and calmed, the burning has ceased, and I have found so many treasures. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਖ ਸੇਵਕ ਸਭਿ ਭੁੰਚਣ ਲਗੇ ਹੰਉ ਸਤਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਕੁਰਬਾਨਾ ॥ sikh sevak sabh bhunchan lage hnau satagur kai kurabaanaa | All the Sikhs and servants partake of them; I am a sacrifice to my True Guru. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਿਰਭਉ ਭਏ ਖਸਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥ nirbhau bhe khasam rang raate jam kee traas bujhaae | I have become fearless, imbued with the Love of my Lord Master, and I have shaken off the fear of death. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੰਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥੩॥ naanak daas sadaa sang sevak teree bhagat karnau liv laae |3| Slave Nanak, Your humble servant, lovingly embraces Your meditation; O Lord, be with me always. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪੂਰੀ ਆਸਾ ਜੀ ਮਨਸਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ pooree aasaa jee manasaa mere raam | My hopes and desires have been fulfilled, O my Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਜੀਉ ਸਭਿ ਗੁਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ mohi niragun jeeo sabh gun tere raam | I am worthless, without virtue; all virtues are Yours, O Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਭਿ ਗੁਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਿਤੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥ sabh gun tere tthaakur mere kit mukh tudh saalaahee | All virtues are Yours, O my Lord and Master; with what mouth should I praise You? - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਣੁ ਅਵਗੁਣੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਨ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਆ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੀਆ ਖਿਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥ gun avagun meraa kichh na beechaariaa bakhas leea khin maahee | You did not consider my merits and demerits; you forgave me in an instant. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ਵਜੀ ਵਾਧਾਈ ਵਾਜੇ ਅਨਹਦ ਤੂਰੇ ॥ nau nidh paaee vajee vaadhaaee vaaje anahad toore | I have obtained the nine treasures, congratulations are pouring in, and the unstruck melody resounds. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੈ ਵਰੁ ਘਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਾਥੇ ਜੀ ਸਗਲ ਵਿਸੂਰੇ ॥੪॥੧॥ kahu naanak mai var ghar paaeaa mere laathe jee sagal visoore |4|1| Says Nanak, I have found my Husband Lord within my own home, and all my anxiety is forgotten. ||4||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਕਿਆ ਸੁਣੇਦੋ ਕੂੜੁ ਵੰਞਨਿ ਪਵਣ ਝੁਲਾਰਿਆ ॥ kiaa sunedo koorr vanyan pavan jhulaariaa | Why do you listen to falsehood? It shall vanish like a gust of wind. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਣੀਅਰ ਤੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਜੋ ਸੁਣੇਦੇ ਸਚੁ ਧਣੀ ॥੧॥ naanak suneear te paravaan jo sunede sach dhanee |1| O Nanak, those ears are acceptable, which listen to the True Master. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਤਿਨ ਘੋਲਿ ਘੁਮਾਈ ਜਿਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸ੍ਰਵਣੀ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਰਾਮ ॥ tin ghol ghumaaee jin prabh sravanee suniaa raam | I am a sacrifice to those who listen with their ears to the Lord God. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਭਣਿਆ ਰਾਮ ॥ se sehaj suhele jin har har rasanaa bhaniaa raam | Blissful and comfortable are those, who with their tongues chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ਗੁਣਹ ਅਮੋਲੇ ਜਗਤ ਉਧਾਰਣ ਆਏ ॥ se sehaj suhele gunah amole jagat udhaaran aae | They are naturally embellished, with priceless virtues; they have come to save the world. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਭੈ ਬੋਹਿਥ ਸਾਗਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਚਰਣਾ ਕੇਤੇ ਪਾਰਿ ਲਘਾਏ ॥ bhai bohith saagar prabh charanaa kete paar laghaae | God’s Feet are the boat, which carries so many across the terrifying world-ocean. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਨ ਕੰਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੀ ਮੇਰੈ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਨ ਗਣਿਆ ॥ jin knau kripaa karee merai tthaakur tin kaa lekhaa na ganiaa | Those who are blessed with the favor of my Lord and Master, are not asked to render their account. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਲੋਇਣ ਲੋਈ ਡਿਠ ਪਿਆਸ ਨ ਬੁਝੈ ਮੂ ਘਣੀ ॥ loein loee dditth piaas na bujhai moo ghanee | With my eyes, I have seen the Light of the Lord, but my great thirst is not quenched. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੇ ਅਖੜੀਆਂ ਬਿਅੰਨਿ ਜਿਨੀ ਡਿਸੰਦੋ ਮਾ ਪਿਰੀ ॥੧॥ naanak se akharreean bian jinee ddisando maa piree |1| O Nanak, those eyes are different, which behold my Husband Lord. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਜਿਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਡਿਠਾ ਤਿਨ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ jinee har prabh dditthaa tin kurabaane raam | I am a sacrifice to those who have seen the Lord God. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੇ ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਭਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ se saachee daragah bhaane raam | In the True Court of the Lord, they are approved. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਮਾਨੇ ਸੇ ਪਰਧਾਨੇ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ॥ tthaakur maane se paradhaane har setee rang raate | They are approved by their Lord and Master, and acclaimed as supreme; they are imbued with the Lord’s Love. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਰਸਹਿ ਅਘਾਏ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਏ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਮਈਆ ਜਾਤੇ ॥ har raseh aghaae sehaj samaae ghatt ghatt rameea jaate | They are satiated with the sublime essence of the Lord, and they merge in celestial peace; in each and every heart, they see the all-pervading Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੇਈ ਸਜਣ ਸੰਤ ਸੇ ਸੁਖੀਏ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਅਪਣੇ ਭਾਣੇ ॥ seee sajan sant se sukhee tthaakur apane bhaane | They alone are the friendly Saints, and they alone are happy, who are pleasing to their Lord and Master. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਡਿਠਾ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੇ ॥੨॥ kahu naanak jin har prabh dditthaa tin kai sad kurabaane |2| Says Nanak, I am forever a sacrifice to those who have seen the Lord God. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਦੇਹ ਅੰਧਾਰੀ ਅੰਧ ਸੁੰਞੀ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਹੂਣੀਆ ॥ deh andhaaree andh sunyee naam vihooneea | The body is blind, totally blind and desolate, without the Naam. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਫਲ ਜਨੰਮੁ ਜੈ ਘਟਿ ਵੁਠਾ ਸਚੁ ਧਣੀ ॥੧॥ naanak safal janam jai ghatt vutthaa sach dhanee |1| O Nanak, fruitful is the life of that being, within whose heart the True Lord and Master abides. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਤਿਨ ਖੰਨੀਐ ਵੰਞਾਂ ਜਿਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਡੀਠਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ tin khaneeai vanyaan jin meraa har prabh ddeetthaa raam | I am cut into pieces as a sacrifice, to those who have seen my Lord God. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਨ ਚਾਖਿ ਅਘਾਣੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਮੀਠਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ jan chaakh aghaane har har amrit meetthaa raam | His humble servants partake of the Sweet Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord, Har, Har, and are satiated. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਮਨਹਿ ਮੀਠਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੂਠਾ ਅਮਿਉ ਵੂਠਾ ਸੁਖ ਭਏ ॥ har maneh meetthaa prabhoo tootthaa amiau vootthaa sukh bhe | The Lord seems sweet to their minds; God is merciful to them, His Ambrosial Nectar rains down upon them, and they are at peace. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦੁਖ ਨਾਸ ਭਰਮ ਬਿਨਾਸ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਜਪਿ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਈਸਹ ਜੈ ਜਏ ॥ dukh naas bharam binaas tan te jap jagadees eesah jai je | Pain is eliminated and doubt is dispelled from the body; chanting the Name of the Lord of the World, their victory is celebrated. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੋਹ ਰਹਤ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਥਾਕੇ ਪੰਚ ਤੇ ਸੰਗੁ ਤੂਟਾ ॥ moh rehat bikaar thaake panch te sang toottaa | They are rid of emotional attachment, their sins are erased, and their association with the five passions is broken off. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
