ਪਿਰੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ ਵੇਖੁ ਹਜੂਰੇ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਤਾ ॥ pir rav rahiaa bharapoore vekh hajoore jug jug eko jaataa | The Lord is all-pervading everywhere; behold Him ever-present. Throughout the ages, know Him as the One. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਧਨ ਬਾਲੀ ਭੋਲੀ ਪਿਰੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਰਾਵੈ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਕਰਮ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥ dhan baalee bholee pir sehaj raavai miliaa karam bidhaataa | The young, innocent bride enjoys her Husband Lord; she meets Him, the Architect of karma. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਿ ਰਹੀ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ ॥ jin har ras chaakhiaa sabad subhaakhiaa har sar rahee bharapoore | One who tastes the sublime essence of the Lord, and utters the sublime Word of the Shabad, remains immersed in the Lord’s Ambrosial Pool. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਸਾ ਪਿਰ ਭਾਵੈ ਸਬਦੇ ਰਹੈ ਹਦੂਰੇ ॥੨॥ naanak kaaman saa pir bhaavai sabade rahai hadoore |2| O Nanak, that soul bride is pleasing to her Husband Lord, who, through the Shabad, remains in His Presence. ||2|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਜਾਇ ਪੂਛਹੁ ਮੁਈਏ ਜਿਨੀ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥ sohaaganee jaae poochhahu mueee jinee vichahu aap gavaaeaa | Go and ask the happy soul-brides, O mortal bride, who have eradicated their self-conceit from within. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਪਿਰ ਕਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਮੁਈਏ ਜਿਨੀ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਨ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥ pir kaa hukam na paaeo mueee jinee vichahu aap na gavaaeaa | Those who have not eradicated their self-conceit, O mortal bride, do not realize the Hukam of their Husband Lord’s Command. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਜਿਨੀ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਤਿਨੀ ਪਿਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਰੰਗ ਸਿਉ ਰਲੀਆ ਮਾਣੈ ॥ jinee aap gavaaeaa tinee pir paaeaa rang siau raleea maanai | Those who eradicate their self-conceit, obtain their Husband Lord; they delight in His Love. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਾਤੀ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥ sadaa rang raatee sahaje maatee anadin naam vakhaanai | Ever imbued with His Love, in perfect poise and grace, she repeats His Name, night and day. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਕਾਮਣਿ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਸੁਭਾਇਆ ॥ kaaman vaddabhaagee antar liv laagee har kaa prem subhaaeaa | Very fortunate is that bride, who focuses her consciousness on Him; her Lord’s Love is so sweet to her. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਸਹਜੇ ਰਾਤੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਚੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਬਣਾਇਆ ॥੩॥ naanak kaaman sahaje raatee jin sach seegaar banaaeaa |3| O Nanak, that soul-bride who is adorned with Truth, is imbued with her Lord’s Love, in the state of perfect poise. ||3|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਮੁਈਏ ਤੂ ਚਲੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਏ ॥ haumai maar mueee too chal gur kai bhaae | Overcome your egotism, O mortal bride, and walk in the Guru’s Way. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਰਾਵਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਮੁਈਏ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਏ ॥ har var raaveh sadaa mueee nij ghar vaasaa paae | Thus you shall ever enjoy your Husband Lord, O mortal bride, and obtain an abode in the home of your own inner being. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਏ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਜਾਏ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਨਾਰੀ ॥ nij ghar vaasaa paae sabad vajaae sadaa suhaagan naaree | Obtaining an abode in the home of her inner being, she vibrates the Word of the Shabad, and is a happy soul-bride forever. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਪਿਰੁ ਰਲੀਆਲਾ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਬਾਲਾ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਕੰਤਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥ pir raleeaalaa joban baalaa anadin kant savaaree | The Husband Lord is delightful, and forever young; night and day, He embellishes His bride. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਸੋਹਾਗੋ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੋ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਏ ॥ har var sohaago masatak bhaago sachai sabad suhaae | Her Husband Lord activates the destiny written on her forehead, and she is adorned with the True Shabad. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਜਾ ਚਲੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਏ ॥੪॥੧॥ naanak kaaman har rang raatee jaa chalai satigur bhaae |4|1| O Nanak, the soul-bride is imbued with the Love of the Lord, when she walks according to the Will of the True Guru. ||4||1|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਭੁ ਵਾਪਾਰੁ ਭਲਾ ਜੇ ਸਹਜੇ ਕੀਜੈ ਰਾਮ ॥ guramukh sabh vaapaar bhalaa je sahaje keejai raam | All dealings of the Gurmukh are good, if they are accomplished with poise and grace. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ਲਾਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਜੈ ਰਾਮ ॥ anadin naam vakhaaneeai laahaa har ras peejai raam | Night and day, he repeats the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and he earns his profits, drinking in the subtle essence of the Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਲਾਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਲੀਜੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਵੀਜੈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥ laahaa har ras leejai har raaveejai anadin naam vakhaanai | He earns the profit of the subtle essence of the Lord, meditating on the Lord, and repeating the Naam, night and day. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਣ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਅਵਗਣ ਵਿਕਣਹਿ ਆਪੈ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥ gun sangreh avagan vikaneh aapai aap pachhaanai | He gathers in merits, and eliminates demerits, and realizes his own self. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਜੈ ॥ guramat paaee vaddee vaddiaaee sachai sabad ras peejai | Under Guru’s Instruction, he is blessed with glorious greatness; he drinks in the essence of the True Word of the Shabad. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਿਰਾਲੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਕੀਜੈ ॥੧॥ naanak har kee bhagat niraalee guramukh viralai keejai |1| O Nanak, devotional worship of the Lord is wonderful, but only a few Gurmukhs perform it. ||1|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਖੇਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬੀਜੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਲੀਜੈ ਸਰੀਰਿ ਜਮਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥ guramukh khetee har antar beejeeai har leejai sareer jamaae raam | As Gurmukh, plant the crop of the Lord within the field of your body, and let it grow. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਭੁੰਚੁ ਤੂ ਲਾਹਾ ਲੈ ਪਰਥਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥ aapane ghar andar ras bhunch too laahaa lai parathaae raam | Within the home of your own being, enjoy the Lord’s subtle essence, and earn profits in the world hereafter. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਲਾਹਾ ਪਰਥਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ਧਨੁ ਖੇਤੀ ਵਾਪਾਰਾ ॥ laahaa parathaae har man vasaae dhan khetee vaapaaraa | This profit is earned by enshrining the Lord within your mind; blessed is this farming and trade. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ਬੂਝੈ ਗੁਰ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥ har naam dhiaae man vasaae boojhai gur beechaaraa | Meditating on the Lord’s Name, and enshrining Him within your mind, you shall come to understand the Guru’s Teachings. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਖੇਤੀ ਵਣਜੁ ਕਰਿ ਥਾਕੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਭੁਖ ਨ ਜਾਏ ॥ manamukh khetee vanaj kar thaake trisanaa bhukh na jaae | The self-willed manmukhs have grown weary of this farming and trade; their hunger and thirst will not go away. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਬੀਜਿ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥੨॥ naanak naam beej man andar sachai sabad subhaae |2| O Nanak, plant the seed of the Name within your mind, and adorn yourself with the True Word of the Shabad. ||2|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਵਾਪਾਰਿ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਲਾਗੇ ਜਿਨਾ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਮਣੀ ਵਡਭਾਗੋ ਰਾਮ ॥ har vaapaar se jan laage jinaa masatak manee vaddabhaago raam | Those humble beings engage in the Lord’s Trade, who have the jewel of such pre-ordained destiny upon their foreheads. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਬੈਰਾਗੋ ਰਾਮ ॥ guramatee man nij ghar vasiaa sachai sabad bairaago raam | Under Guru’s Instruction, the soul dwells in the home of the self; through the True Word of the Shabad, she becomes unattached. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਮੁਖਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੋ ਸਚਿ ਬੈਰਾਗੋ ਸਾਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥ mukh masatak bhaago sach bairaago saach rate veechaaree | By the destiny written upon their foreheads, they become truly unattached, and by reflective meditation, they are imbued with Truth. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਬਉਰਾਨਾ ਸਬਦੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀ ॥ naam binaa sabh jag bauraanaa sabade haumai maaree | Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the whole world is insane; through the Shabad, the ego is conquered. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਾਗਿ ਮਤਿ ਉਪਜੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੋਹਾਗੋ ॥ saachai sabad laag mat upajai guramukh naam sohaago | Attached to the True Word of the Shabad, wisdom comes forth. The Gurmukh obtains the Naam, the Name of the Husband Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji
