ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਹਿ ਬਿਨਉ ਕਹਿਆ ॥ apune satigur peh binau kahiaa | I offer my prayer to my True Guru. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਗਲ ਅੰਦੇਸਰਾ ਗਇਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ bhe kripaal deaal dukh bhanjan meraa sagal andesaraa geaa | rahaau | The Destroyer of distress has become kind and merciful, and all my anxiety is over. ||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਪਾਖੰਡੀ ਲੋਭੀ ਹਮਰਾ ਗੁਨੁ ਅਵਗੁਨੁ ਸਭੁ ਸਹਿਆ ॥ ham paapee paakhanddee lobhee hamaraa gun avagun sabh sahiaa | I am a sinner, hypocritical and greedy, but still, He puts up with all of my merits and demerits. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਸਾਜਿ ਨਿਵਾਜੇ ਮੁਏ ਦੁਸਟ ਜੋ ਖਇਆ ॥੧॥ kar masatak dhaar saaj nivaaje mue dusatt jo kheaa |1| Placing His hand on my forehead, He has exalted me. The wicked ones who wanted to destroy me have been killed. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀ ਸਰਬ ਸਧਾਰੀ ਸਫਲ ਦਰਸਨ ਸਹਜਇਆ ॥ praupakaaree sarab sadhaaree safal darasan sahajeaa | He is generous and benevolent, the beautifier of all, the embodiment of peace; the Blessed Vision of His Darshan is so fruitful! - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਕਉ ਦਾਤਾ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਉਰ ਧਰਿਆ ॥੨॥੨੪॥ kahu naanak niragun kau daataa charan kamal ur dhariaa |2|24| Says Nanak, He is the Giver to the unworthy; I enshrine His Lotus Feet within my heart. ||2||24|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸਰਨਿ ਆਇਓ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ saran aaeo raakhanahaare | rahaau | I have come to the Sanctuary of the Savior Lord. ||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਰਬ ਪਾਖ ਰਾਖੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੇ ॥ sarab paakh raakh muraare | Protect me on all sides, O Lord; - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਗੈ ਪਾਛੈ ਅੰਤੀ ਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ aagai paachhai antee vaare |1| protect me in the future, in the past, and at the very last moment. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਬ ਚਿਤਵਉ ਤਬ ਤੁਹਾਰੇ ॥ jab chitvau tab tuhaare | Whenever something comes to mind, it is You. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਉਨ ਸਮੑਾਰਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਸਧਾਰੇ ॥੨॥ aun samaar meraa man sadhaare |2| Contemplating Your virtues, my mind is sanctified. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੁਨਿ ਗਾਵਉ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਾਰੇ ॥ sun gaavau gur bachanaare | I hear and sing the Hymns of the Guru’s Word. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ਸਾਧ ਦਰਸਾਰੇ ॥੩॥ bal bal jaau saadh darasaare |3| I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of the Holy. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖਉ ਏਕ ਅਸਾਰੇ ॥ man meh raakhau ek asaare | Within my mind, I have the Support of the One Lord alone. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਰਨੈਹਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੨੫॥ naanak prabh mere karanaihaare |4|25| O Nanak, my God is the Creator of all. ||4||25|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਮੋਹਿ ਦੀਜੈ ਕਰਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕਾ ਚੇਰਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ kripaa nidhaan deaal mohi deejai kar santan kaa cheraa | rahaau | O treasure of kindness, O Merciful Lord, please make me the slave of your Saints. ||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪ੍ਰਾਤਹਕਾਲ ਲਾਗਉ ਜਨ ਚਰਨੀ ਨਿਸ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਦਰਸੁ ਪਾਵਉ ॥ praatahakaal laagau jan charanee nis baasur daras paavau | In the early hours of the morning, I fall at the feet of Your humble servants; night and day, I obtain the Blessed Vision of their Darshan. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਅਰਪਿ ਕਰਉ ਜਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਰਸਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਉ ॥੧॥ tan man arap krau jan sevaa rasanaa har gun gaavau |1| Dedicating my body and mind, I serve the humble servant of the Lord; with my tongue, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਿਮਰਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਤ ਰਹੀਐ ॥ saas saas simrau prabh apunaa santasang nit raheeai | With each and every breath, I meditate in remembrance on my God; I live continually in the Society of the Saints. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਏਕੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਮੋਰਾ ਅਨਦੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਲਹੀਐ ॥੨॥੨੬॥ ek adhaar naam dhan moraa anad naanak ihu laheeai |2|26| The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is my only support and wealth; O Nanak, from this, I obtain bliss. ||2||26|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸੰਗੇ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਗਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ chhodd na jaaee sad hee sange anadin gur mil gaae |1| rahaau | He does not leave me, and He always keeps me company. Meeting the Guru, night and day, I sing His Praises. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਿਲਿਓ ਮਨੋਹਰੁ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖੈਨਾ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਜਾਏ ॥ milio manohar sarab sukhainaa tiaag na katahoo jaae | I met the Fascinating Lord, who has blessed me with all comforts; He does not leave me to go anywhere else. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਨਿਕ ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਹੁ ਪੇਖੇ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਰੋਮ ਨ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਲਾਏ ॥੧॥ anik anik bhaat bahu pekhe pria rom na samasar laae |1| I have seen the mortals of many and various types, but they are not equal to even a hair of my Beloved. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੰਦਰਿ ਭਾਗੁ ਸੋਭ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਅਨਹਤ ਰੁਣੁ ਝੁਣੁ ਲਾਏ ॥ mandar bhaag sobh duaarai anahat run jhun laae | His palace is so beautiful! His gate is so wonderful! The celestial melody of the sound current resounds there. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਥੀਤੇ ਸਦ ਥਾਏ ॥੨॥੧॥੨੭॥ kahu naanak sadaa rang maane grih pria theete sad thaae |2|1|27| Says Nanak, I enjoy eternal bliss; I have obtained a permanent place in the home of my Beloved. ||2||1||27|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਆਇਓ ਹੈ ਸਗਲ ਥਾਨ ਰੇ ਆਹਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਸੰਤ ਪਾਛੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ bhram aaeo hai sagal thaan re aaeh pario sant paachhai |1| rahaau | I have wandered everywhere, and now I have come to follow the Saint. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਿਸੁ ਹਉ ਸੇਵੀ ਕਿਸੁ ਆਰਾਧੀ ਜੋ ਦਿਸਟੈ ਸੋ ਗਾਛੈ ॥ kis hau sevee kis aaraadhee jo disattai so gaachhai | Whom should I serve? Whom should I worship in adoration? Whoever I see shall pass away. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
