ਧੰਧਾ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਹਾਨੀ ਅਉਧਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਗਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ dhandhaa karat bihaanee aaudheh gun nidh naam na gaaeo |1| rahaau | You have spent your life engaged in worldly pursuits; you have not sung the Glorious Praises of the treasure of the Naam. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਉਡੀ ਕਉਡੀ ਜੋਰਤ ਕਪਟੇ ਅਨਿਕ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਧਾਇਓ ॥ kauddee kauddee jorat kapatte anik jugat kar dhaaeo | Shell by shell, you accumulate money; in various ways, you work for this. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਿਸਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇਤੇ ਦੁਖ ਗਨੀਅਹਿ ਮਹਾ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਖਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ bisarat prabh kete dukh ganeeeh mahaa mohanee khaaeo |1| Forgetting God, you suffer awful pain beyond measure, and you are consumed by the Great Enticer, Maya. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਹੁ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਗਨਹੁ ਨ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਮਾਇਓ ॥ karahu anugrahu suaamee mere ganahu na mohi kamaaeo | Show Mercy to me, O my Lord and Master, and do not hold me to account for my actions. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਇਆਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਾਇਓ ॥੨॥੧੬॥੨੫॥ gobind deaal kripaal sukh saagar naanak har saranaaeo |2|16|25| O merciful and compassionate Lord God, ocean of peace, Nanak has taken to Your Sanctuary, Lord. ||2||16||25|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਛੋਡਿ ਆਨ ਬਿਉਹਾਰ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਭਜੁ ਸਦਾ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ chhodd aan biauhaar mithiaa bhaj sadaa bhagavant |1| rahaau | Renounce other false occupations, and vibrate forever on the Lord God. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਮੁ ਏਕੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਭਗਤਾ ਈਤ ਆਗੈ ਟੇਕ ॥ naam ek adhaar bhagataa eet aagai ttek | The One Name is the support of His devotees; in this world, and in the world hereafter, it is their anchor and support. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੀਆ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਿਬੇਕ ॥੧॥ kar kripaa gobind deea gur giaan budh bibek |1| In His mercy and kindness, the Guru has given me the divine wisdom of God, and a discriminating intellect. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਥ ਸ੍ਰੀਧਰ ਸਰਣਿ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਹੀ ॥ karan kaaran samrath sreedhar saran taa kee gahee | The all-powerful Lord is the Creator, the Cause of causes; He is the Master of wealth - I seek His Sanctuary. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਰਵਾਲ ਸਾਧੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਲਹੀ ॥੨॥੧੭॥੨੬॥ mukat jugat ravaal saadhoo naanak har nidh lahee |2|17|26| Liberation and worldly success come from the dust of the feet of the Holy Saints; Nanak has obtained the Lord’s treasure. ||2||17||26|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥ paarabraham paramesaro prabhoo ke gun gaau |1| Sing the Glorious Praises of the Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਰੇ ਚਿਤ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਅਰਾਧਿ ॥ re chit charan kamal araadh | O my consciousness, contemplate and adore the Lotus Feet of the Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਿਟੈ ਸਗਲ ਉਪਾਧਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ sarab sookh kaliaan paaveh mittai sagal upaadh |1| rahaau | You shall obtain total peace and salvation, and all troubles shall depart. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਮੀਤ ਭਾਈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥ maat pitaa sut meet bhaaee tis binaa nahee koe | Mother, father, children, friends and siblings - without the Lord, none of them are real. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਈਤ ਊਤ ਜੀਅ ਨਾਲਿ ਸੰਗੀ ਸਰਬ ਰਵਿਆ ਸੋਇ ॥੨॥ eet aoot jeea naal sangee sarab raviaa soe |2| Here and hereafter, He is the companion of the soul; He is pervading everywhere. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕੋਟਿ ਜਤਨ ਉਪਾਵ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਕਾਮਿ ॥ kott jatan upaav mithiaa kachh na aavai kaam | Millions of plans, tricks, and efforts are of no use, and serve no purpose. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਰਣਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਨਾਮਿ ॥੩॥ saran saadhoo niramalaa gat hoe prabh kai naam |3| In the Sanctuary of the Holy, one becomes immaculate and pure, and obtains salvation, through the Name of God. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਗਮ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਊਚਾ ਸਰਣਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਜੋਗੁ ॥ agam deaal prabhoo aoochaa saran saadhoo jog | God is profound and merciful, lofty and exalted; He gives Sanctuary to the Holy. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਿਸੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ॥੪॥੧॥੨੭॥ tis paraapat naanakaa jis likhiaa dhur sanjog |4|1|27| He alone obtains the Lord, O Nanak, who is blessed with such pre-ordained destiny to meet Him. ||4||1||27|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਅਰਾਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਇ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਚਿੰਦ ॥੧॥ saas saas araadh har har leh jaae man kee chind |1| With each and every breath, worship the Lord, Har, Har, in adoration, and the anxiety of your mind will be dispelled. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਾਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥ mere man jaap prabh kaa naau | O my mind, chant the Name of God. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਅਨੰਦ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਿਲੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਥਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ sookh sehaj anand paaveh milee niramal thaau |1| rahaau | You shall be blessed with peace, poise and pleasure, and you shall find the immaculate place. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਉਧਾਰਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਆਰਾਧਿ ॥ saadhasang udhaar ihu man aatth pehar aaraadh | In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, redeem your mind, and adore the Lord, twenty-four hours a day. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਮਿਟੈ ਸਗਲ ਉਪਾਧਿ ॥੨॥ kaam krodh ahankaar binasai mittai sagal upaadh |2| Sexual desire, anger and egotism will be dispelled, and all troubles shall end. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਟਲ ਅਛੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਆਉ ॥ attal achhed abhed suaamee saran taa kee aau | The Lord Master is immovable, immortal and inscrutable; seek His Sanctuary. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਅਰਾਧਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਏਕ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਉ ॥੩॥ charan kamal araadh hiradai ek siau liv laau |3| Worship in adoration the lotus feet of the Lord in your heart, and center your consciousness lovingly on Him alone. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰੀ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੀਨੑੇ ਆਪਿ ॥ paarabraham prabh deaa dhaaree bakhas leenae aap | The Supreme Lord God has shown mercy to me, and He Himself has forgiven me. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
