ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਜਿ ਚੀਨੑਸੀ ਆਸਾ ਤੇ ਨ ਭਾਵਸੀ ॥ paarabraham ji cheenasee aasaa te na bhaavasee | One who recognizes the Supreme Lord God, dislikes other desires. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਰਾਮਾ ਭਗਤਹ ਚੇਤੀਅਲੇ ਅਚਿੰਤ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਖਸੀ ॥੧॥ raamaa bhagatah cheteeale achint man raakhasee |1| He focuses his consciousness on the Lord’s devotional worship, and keeps his mind free of anxiety. ||1|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਕੈਸੇ ਮਨ ਤਰਹਿਗਾ ਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਬਿਖੈ ਕੋ ਬਨਾ ॥ kaise man tarahigaa re sansaar saagar bikhai ko banaa | O my mind, how will you cross over the world-ocean, if you are filled with the water of corruption? - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਝੂਠੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇਖਿ ਕੈ ਭੂਲਾ ਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jhootthee maaeaa dekh kai bhoolaa re manaa |1| rahaau | Gazing upon the falseness of Maya, you have gone astray, O my mind. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਛੀਪੇ ਕੇ ਘਰਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਦੈਲਾ ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਭੈਲਾ ॥ chheepe ke ghar janam dailaa gur upades bhailaa | You have given me birth in the house of a calico-printer, but I have found the Teachings of the Guru. - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਮੀਨ ਭ੍ਰਿੰਗ ਪਤੰਗ ਕੁੰਚਰ ਏਕ ਦੋਖ ਬਿਨਾਸ ॥ mrig meen bhring patang kunchar ek dokh binaas | The deer, the fish, the bumble bee, the moth and the elephant are destroyed, each for a single defect. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਪੰਚ ਦੋਖ ਅਸਾਧ ਜਾ ਮਹਿ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਕੇਤਕ ਆਸ ॥੧॥ panch dokh asaadh jaa meh taa kee ketak aas |1| So the one who is filled with the five incurable vices - what hope is there for him? ||1|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਤ੍ਰਿਗਦ ਜੋਨਿ ਅਚੇਤ ਸੰਭਵ ਪੁੰਨ ਪਾਪ ਅਸੋਚ ॥ trigad jon achet sanbhav pun paap asoch | The creeping creatures live thoughtless lives, and cannot discriminate between good and evil. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਮਾਨੁਖਾ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਦੁਲਭ ਤਿਹੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪੋਚ ॥੨॥ maanukhaa avataar dulabh tihee sangat poch |2| It is so difficult to obtain this human incarnation, and yet, they keep company with the low. ||2|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਜਹਾ ਜਹਾ ਲਗੁ ਕਰਮ ਕੇ ਬਸਿ ਜਾਇ ॥ jeea jant jahaa jahaa lag karam ke bas jaae | Wherever the beings and creatures are, they are born according to the karma of their past actions. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਕਾਲ ਫਾਸ ਅਬਧ ਲਾਗੇ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਚਲੈ ਉਪਾਇ ॥੩॥ kaal faas abadh laage kachh na chalai upaae |3| The noose of death is unforgiving, and it shall catch them; it cannot be warded off. ||3|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਦਾਸ ਉਦਾਸ ਤਜੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਤਪਨ ਤਪੁ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨ ॥ ravidaas daas udaas taj bhram tapan tap gur giaan | O servant Ravi Daas, dispel your sorrow and doubt, and know that Guru-given spiritual wisdom is the penance of penances. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਅਉਰ ਇਕ ਮਾਗਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਚਿੰਤਾਮਣਿ ॥ aaur ik maagau bhagat chintaaman | I ask for these, and for one thing more - devotional worship, which shall fulfill my desires. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਜਣੀ ਲਖਾਵਹੁ ਅਸੰਤ ਪਾਪੀ ਸਣਿ ॥੩॥ janee lakhaavahu asant paapee san |3| Do not show me the wicked sinners. ||3|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਨੀਚ ਰੂਖ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਗੰਧ ਸੁਗੰਧ ਨਿਵਾਸਾ ॥੧॥ neech rookh te aooch bhe hai gandh sugandh nivaasaa |1| From a lowly tree, I have become exalted; Your fragrance, Your exquisite fragrance now permeates me. ||1|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਤੁਮ ਮਖਤੂਲ ਸੁਪੇਦ ਸਪੀਅਲ ਹਮ ਬਪੁਰੇ ਜਸ ਕੀਰਾ ॥ tum makhatool suped sapeeal ham bapure jas keeraa | You are the white and yellow threads of silk, and I am like a poor worm. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੀਐ ਮਾਧਉ ਜੈਸੇ ਮਧੁਪ ਮਖੀਰਾ ॥੨॥ satasangat mil raheeai maadhau jaise madhup makheeraa |2| O Lord, I seek to live in the Company of the Saints, like the bee with its honey. ||2|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਜਾਤੀ ਓਛਾ ਪਾਤੀ ਓਛਾ ਓਛਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥ jaatee ochhaa paatee ochhaa ochhaa janam hamaaraa | My social status is low, my ancestry is low, and my birth is low as well. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
