ਤੰਤ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਸਭ ਅਉਖਧ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਤਊ ਮਰਨਾ ॥੨॥ tant mantr sabh aaukhadh jaaneh ant taoo maranaa |2| those who know Tantras and mantras and all medicines - even they shall die in the end. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਰਾਜ ਭੋਗ ਅਰੁ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਨ ਬਹੁ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਰਮਨਾ ॥ raaj bhog ar chhatr singhaasan bahu sundar ramanaa | Those who enjoy regal power and rule, royal canopies and thrones, many beautiful women, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪਾਨ ਕਪੂਰ ਸੁਬਾਸਕ ਚੰਦਨ ਅੰਤਿ ਤਊ ਮਰਨਾ ॥੩॥ paan kapoor subaasak chandan ant taoo maranaa |3| betel nuts, camphor and fragrant sandalwood oil - in the end, they too shall die. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਭ ਖੋਜੇ ਕਹੂ ਨ ਊਬਰਨਾ ॥ bed puraan sinmrit sabh khoje kahoo na aoobaranaa | I have searched all the Vedas, Puraanas and Simritees, but none of these can save anyone. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਇਉ ਰਾਮਹਿ ਜੰਪਉ ਮੇਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨਾ ॥੪॥੫॥ kahu kabeer iau raameh janpau mett janam maranaa |4|5| Says Kabeer, meditate on the Lord, and eliminate birth and death. ||4||5|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਫੀਲੁ ਰਬਾਬੀ ਬਲਦੁ ਪਖਾਵਜ ਕਊਆ ਤਾਲ ਬਜਾਵੈ ॥ feel rabaabee balad pakhaavaj kaooaa taal bajaavai | The elephant is the guitar player, the ox is the drummer, and the crow plays the cymbals. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪਹਿਰਿ ਚੋਲਨਾ ਗਦਹਾ ਨਾਚੈ ਭੈਸਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ pahir cholanaa gadahaa naachai bhaisaa bhagat karaavai |1| Putting on the skirt, the donkey dances around, and the water buffalo performs devotional worship. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮ ਕਕਰੀਆ ਬਰੇ ਪਕਾਏ ॥ raajaa raam kakareea bare pakaae | The Lord, the King, has cooked the cakes of ice, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਿਨੈ ਬੂਝਨਹਾਰੈ ਖਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ kinai boojhanahaarai khaae |1| rahaau | but only the rare man of understanding eats them. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬੈਠਿ ਸਿੰਘੁ ਘਰਿ ਪਾਨ ਲਗਾਵੈ ਘੀਸ ਗਲਉਰੇ ਲਿਆਵੈ ॥ baitth singh ghar paan lagaavai ghees glaure liaavai | Sitting in his den, the lion prepares the betel leaves, and the muskrat brings the betel nuts. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਮੁਸਰੀ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਕਛੂਆ ਸੰਖੁ ਬਜਾਵੈ ॥੨॥ ghar ghar musaree mangal gaaveh kachhooaa sankh bajaavai |2| Going from house to house, the mouse sings the songs of joy, and the turtle blows on the conch-shell. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬੰਸ ਕੋ ਪੂਤੁ ਬੀਆਹਨ ਚਲਿਆ ਸੁਇਨੇ ਮੰਡਪ ਛਾਏ ॥ bans ko poot beeaahan chaliaa sueine manddap chhaae | The son of the sterile woman goes to get married, and the golden canopy is spread out for him. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਰੂਪ ਕੰਨਿਆ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਬੇਧੀ ਸਸੈ ਸਿੰਘ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ॥੩॥ roop kaniaa sundar bedhee sasai singh gun gaae |3| He marries a beautiful and enticing young woman; the rabbit and the lion sing their praises. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰੇ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਕੀਟੀ ਪਰਬਤੁ ਖਾਇਆ ॥ kehat kabeer sunahu re santahu keettee parabat khaaeaa | Says Kabeer, listen, O Saints - the ant has eaten the mountain. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਛੂਆ ਕਹੈ ਅੰਗਾਰ ਭਿ ਲੋਰਉ ਲੂਕੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਨਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੬॥ kachhooaa kahai angaar bhi lorau lookee sabad sunaaeaa |4|6| The turtle says, “I need a burning coal, also.” Listen to this mystery of the Shabad. ||4||6|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਬਟੂਆ ਏਕੁ ਬਹਤਰਿ ਆਧਾਰੀ ਏਕੋ ਜਿਸਹਿ ਦੁਆਰਾ ॥ battooaa ek bahatar aadhaaree eko jiseh duaaraa | The body is a bag with seventy-two chambers, and one opening, the Tenth Gate. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਨਵੈ ਖੰਡ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੀ ਮਾਗੈ ਸੋ ਜੋਗੀ ਜਗਿ ਸਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ navai khandd kee prithamee maagai so jogee jag saaraa |1| He alone is a real Yogi on this earth, who asks for the primal world of the nine regions. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਐਸਾ ਜੋਗੀ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ aisaa jogee nau nidh paavai | Such a Yogi obtains the nine treasures. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਲ ਕਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਲੇ ਗਗਨਿ ਚਰਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ tal kaa braham le gagan charaavai |1| rahaau | He lifts his soul up from below, to the skies of the Tenth Gate. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਖਿੰਥਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਕਰਿ ਸੂਈ ਸਬਦੁ ਤਾਗਾ ਮਥਿ ਘਾਲੈ ॥ khinthaa giaan dhiaan kar sooee sabad taagaa math ghaalai | He makes spiritual wisdom his patched coat, and meditation his needle. He twists the thread of the Word of the Shabad. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪੰਚ ਤਤੁ ਕੀ ਕਰਿ ਮਿਰਗਾਣੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਚਾਲੈ ॥੨॥ panch tat kee kar miragaanee gur kai maarag chaalai |2| Making the five elements his deer skin to sit on, he walks on the Guru’s Path. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਦਇਆ ਫਾਹੁਰੀ ਕਾਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਧੂਈ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਕੀ ਅਗਨਿ ਜਲਾਵੈ ॥ deaa faahuree kaaeaa kar dhooee drisatt kee agan jalaavai | He makes compassion his shovel, his body the firewood, and he kindles the fire of divine vision. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਭਾਉ ਲਏ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਚਹੁ ਜੁਗ ਤਾੜੀ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੩॥ tis kaa bhaau le rid antar chahu jug taarree laavai |3| He places love within his heart, and he remains in deep meditation throughout the four ages. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਭ ਜੋਗਤਣ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਪਰਾਨਾ ॥ sabh jogatan raam naam hai jis kaa pindd paraanaa | All Yoga is in the Name of the Lord; the body and the breath of life belong to Him. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੈ ਦੇਇ ਸਚਾ ਨੀਸਾਨਾ ॥੪॥੭॥ kahu kabeer je kirapaa dhaarai dee sachaa neesaanaa |4|7| Says Kabeer, if God grants His Grace, He bestows the insignia of Truth. ||4||7|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਹਿੰਦੂ ਤੁਰਕ ਕਹਾ ਤੇ ਆਏ ਕਿਨਿ ਏਹ ਰਾਹ ਚਲਾਈ ॥ hindoo turak kahaa te aae kin eeh raah chalaaee | Where have the Hindus and Muslims come from? Who put them on their different paths? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਦਿਲ ਮਹਿ ਸੋਚਿ ਬਿਚਾਰਿ ਕਵਾਦੇ ਭਿਸਤ ਦੋਜਕ ਕਿਨਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥ dil meh soch bichaar kavaade bhisat dojak kin paaee |1| Think of this, and contemplate it within your mind, O men of evil intentions. Who will go to heaven and hell? ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਾਜੀ ਤੈ ਕਵਨ ਕਤੇਬ ਬਖਾਨੀ ॥ kaajee tai kavan kateb bakhaanee | O Qazi, which book have you read? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪੜ੍ਹਤ ਗੁਨਤ ਐਸੇ ਸਭ ਮਾਰੇ ਕਿਨਹੂੰ ਖਬਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ parrhat gunat aise sabh maare kinahoon khabar na jaanee |1| rahaau | Such scholars and students have all died, and none of them have discovered the inner meaning. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਕਤਿ ਸਨੇਹੁ ਕਰਿ ਸੁੰਨਤਿ ਕਰੀਐ ਮੈ ਨ ਬਦਉਗਾ ਭਾਈ ॥ sakat sanehu kar sunat kareeai mai na bdaugaa bhaaee | Because of the love of woman, circumcision is done; I don’t believe in it, O Siblings of Destiny. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਉ ਰੇ ਖੁਦਾਇ ਮੋਹਿ ਤੁਰਕੁ ਕਰੈਗਾ ਆਪਨ ਹੀ ਕਟਿ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥ jau re khudaae mohi turak karaigaa aapan hee katt jaaee |2| If God wished me to be a Muslim, it would be cut off by itself. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੁੰਨਤਿ ਕੀਏ ਤੁਰਕੁ ਜੇ ਹੋਇਗਾ ਅਉਰਤ ਕਾ ਕਿਆ ਕਰੀਐ ॥ sunat kee turak je hoeigaa aaurat kaa kiaa kareeai | If circumcision makes one a Muslim, then what about a woman? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅਰਧ ਸਰੀਰੀ ਨਾਰਿ ਨ ਛੋਡੈ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਹੀ ਰਹੀਐ ॥੩॥ aradh sareeree naar na chhoddai taa te hindoo hee raheeai |3| She is the other half of a man’s body, and she does not leave him, so he remains a Hindu. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਛਾਡਿ ਕਤੇਬ ਰਾਮੁ ਭਜੁ ਬਉਰੇ ਜੁਲਮ ਕਰਤ ਹੈ ਭਾਰੀ ॥ chhaadd kateb raam bhaj baure julam karat hai bhaaree | Give up your holy books, and remember the Lord, you fool, and stop oppressing others so badly. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰੈ ਪਕਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਰਾਮ ਕੀ ਤੁਰਕ ਰਹੇ ਪਚਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੮॥ kabeerai pakaree ttek raam kee turak rahe pachihaaree |4|8| Kabeer has grasped hold of the Lord’s Support, and the Muslims have utterly failed. ||4||8|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
