ਪਿਰ ਰਤਿਅੜੇ ਮੈਡੇ ਲੋਇਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਬੂੰਦ ਜਿਵੈ ॥ pir ratiarre maidde loein mere piaare chaatrik boond jivai | My eyes are drenched with the Love of my Husband Lord, O my dear beloved, like the song-bird with the rain drop. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਬੂੰਦ ਪੀਵੈ ॥ man seetal hoaa mere piaare har boond peevai | My mind is cooled and soothed, O my dear beloved, by drinking in the rain drops of the Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤਨਿ ਬਿਰਹੁ ਜਗਾਵੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਪਵੈ ਕਿਵੈ ॥ tan birahu jagaavai mere piaare need na pavai kivai | Separation from my Lord keeps my body awake, O my dear beloved; I cannot sleep at all. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣੁ ਲਧਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਲਿਵੈ ॥੩॥ har sajan ladhaa mere piaare naanak guroo livai |3| Nanak has found the Lord, the True Friend, O my dear beloved, by loving the Guru. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਚੜਿ ਚੇਤੁ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭਲੀਅ ਰੁਤੇ ॥ charr chet basant mere piaare bhaleea rute | In the month of Chayt, O my dear beloved, the pleasant season of spring begins. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਪਿਰ ਬਾਝੜਿਅਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਆਂਗਣਿ ਧੂੜਿ ਲੁਤੇ ॥ pir baajharriahu mere piaare aangan dhoorr lute | But without my Husband Lord, O my dear beloved, my courtyard is filled with dust. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਮਨਿ ਆਸ ਉਡੀਣੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦੁਇ ਨੈਨ ਜੁਤੇ ॥ man aas uddeenee mere piaare due nain jute | But my sad mind is still hopeful, O my dear beloved; my eyes are both fixed upon Him. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਵਿਗਸੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜਿਉ ਮਾਤ ਸੁਤੇ ॥੪॥ gur naanak dekh vigasee mere piaare jiau maat sute |4| Beholding the Guru, Nanak is filled with wondrous joy, like a child, gazing upon his mother. ||4|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਗੁਰ ਵਿਟੜਿਅਹੁ ਹਉ ਘੋਲੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਾਈਆ ॥ gur vittarriahu hau gholee mere piaare jin har melaaeea | I am a sacrifice to the Guru, O my dear beloved, who has united me with the Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਭਿ ਆਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਪੂਰੀਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਨਿ ਚਿੰਦਿਅੜਾ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ sabh aasaa har pooreea mere piaare man chindiarraa fal paaeaa | The Lord has fulfilled all my hopes, O my dear beloved; I have obtained the fruits of my heart’s desires. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਤੁਠੜਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੫॥ har tuttharraa mere piaare jan naanak naam samaaeaa |5| When the Lord is pleased, O my dear beloved, servant Nanak is absorbed into the Naam. ||5|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਨ ਖੇਲਸਾ ॥ piaare har bin prem na khelasaa | Without the Beloved Lord, there is no play of love. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਕਿਉ ਪਾਈ ਗੁਰੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਲਗਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਦੇਖਸਾ ॥ kiau paaee gur jit lag piaaraa dekhasaa | How can I find the Guru? Grasping hold of Him, I behold my Beloved. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਦਾਤੜੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਮੁਖਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮੇਲਸਾ ॥ har daatarre mel guroo mukh guramukh melasaa | O Lord, O Great Giver, let me meet the Guru; as Gurmukh, may I merge with You. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੇਖੁ ਸਾ ॥੬॥੧੪॥੨੧॥ gur naanak paaeaa mere piaare dhur masatak lekh saa |6|14|21| Nanak has found the Guru, O my dear beloved; such was the destiny inscribed upon his forehead. ||6||14||21|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਚਾਖਿਅੜਾ ਚਾਖਿਅੜਾ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਮੀਠਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ chaakhiarraa chaakhiarraa mai har ras meetthaa raam | Tasted - I have tasted the sweet essence of the Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਮੀਠਾ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਵੂਠਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਤੂਠਾ ਸਹਜੁ ਭਇਆ ॥ har ras meetthaa man meh vootthaa satigur tootthaa sehaj bheaa | The sweet essence of the Lord has rained down in my mind; by the pleasure of the True Guru, I have attained peaceful ease. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਵਸਿ ਆਇਆ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਇਆ ਪੰਚ ਦੁਸਟ ਓਇ ਭਾਗਿ ਗਇਆ ॥ grihu vas aaeaa mangal gaaeaa panch dusatt oe bhaag geaa | I have come to dwell in the home of my own self, and I sing the songs of joy; the five villains have fled. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੀਤਲ ਆਘਾਣੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੇ ਸਾਜਨ ਸੰਤ ਬਸੀਠਾ ॥ seetal aaghaane amrit baane saajan sant baseetthaa | I am soothed and satisfied with the Ambrosial Bani of His Word; the friendly Saint is my advocate. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨੈਣੀ ਡੀਠਾ ॥੧॥ kahu naanak har siau man maaniaa so prabh nainee ddeetthaa |1| Says Nanak, my mind is in harmony with the Lord; I have seen God with my eyes. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੋਹਿਅੜੇ ਸੋਹਿਅੜੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੰਕ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ sohiarre sohiarre mere bank duaare raam | Adorned - adorned are my beauteous gates, O Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪਾਹੁਨੜੇ ਪਾਹੁਨੜੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ paahunarre paahunarre mere sant piaare raam | Guests - my guests are the Beloved Saints, O Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਕਰਿ ਲਗੇ ਸੇਵਾ ॥ sant piaare kaaraj saare namasakaar kar lage sevaa | The Beloved Saints have resolved my affairs; I humbly bowed to them, and committed myself to their service. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਜਾਞੀ ਆਪੇ ਮਾਞੀ ਆਪਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪਿ ਦੇਵਾ ॥ aape jaayee aape maayee aap suaamee aap devaa | He Himself is the groom’s party, and He Himself the bride’s party; He Himself is the Lord and Master; He Himself is the Divine Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਪਣਾ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਆਪਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ਆਪੇ ਧਾਰਨ ਧਾਰੇ ॥ apanaa kaaraj aap savaare aape dhaaran dhaare | He Himself resolves His own affairs; He Himself sustains the Universe. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹੁ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਬੈਠਾ ਸੋਹੇ ਬੰਕ ਦੁਆਰੇ ॥੨॥ kahu naanak sahu ghar meh baitthaa sohe bank duaare |2| Says Nanak, my Bridegroom is sitting in my home; the gates of my body are beautifully adorned. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਵ ਨਿਧੇ ਨਉ ਨਿਧੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਆਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ nav nidhe nau nidhe mere ghar meh aaee raam | The nine treasures - the nine treasures come into my home, Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਮੈ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ sabh kichh mai sabh kichh paaeaa naam dhiaaee raam | Everything - I obtain everything, meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਸਦਾ ਸਖਾਈ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਈ ਗੋਵਿੰਦਾ ॥ naam dhiaaee sadaa sakhaaee sehaj subhaaee govindaa | Meditating on the Naam, the Lord of the Universe becomes one’s eternal companion, and he dwells in peaceful ease. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗਣਤ ਮਿਟਾਈ ਚੂਕੀ ਧਾਈ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦਾ ॥ ganat mittaaee chookee dhaaee kade na viaapai man chindaa | His calculations are ended, his wanderings cease, and his mind is no longer afflicted with anxiety. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗਾਜੇ ਅਨਹਦ ਵਾਜੇ ਅਚਰਜ ਸੋਭ ਬਣਾਈ ॥ govind gaaje anahad vaaje acharaj sobh banaaee | When the Lord of the Universe reveals Himself, and the unstruck melody of the sound current vibrates, the drama of wondrous splendor is enacted. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਿਰੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਸੰਗੇ ਤਾ ਮੈ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੩॥ kahu naanak pir merai sange taa mai nav nidh paaee |3| Says Nanak, when my Husband Lord is with me, I obtain the nine treasures. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
