ਚਰਨਨ ਸਰਨਨ ਸੰਤਨ ਬੰਦਨ ॥ ਸੁਖੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਹੀ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਪਤਿ ਹਰੀ ॥ ਮਿਲੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਰੀ ॥੩॥੩॥੧੪੩॥ charanan saranan santan bandan | sukho sukh paahee | naanak tapat haree | mile prem piree |3|3|143| The Sanctuary of the Lord’s Feet, and dedication to the Saints these bring me peace and pleasure. ਸੰਤਨ ਪਰਸਨ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਦਰਸਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਸੋਇਨਾ ॥੩॥੪॥੧੪੪॥ santan parasan balihaaree darasan naanak sukh sukh soeinaa |3|4|144| Meeting the Saints, and beholding the Blessed Vision of their Darshan, Nanak is a sacrifice to them; he sleeps in absolute peace. ||3||4||144|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸੰਗਿ ਸਹਾਈ ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਓਹੁ ਅਗਹ ਅਤੋਲਾ ॥੧॥ sang sahaaee chhodd na jaaee ohu agah atolaa |1| The Lord is my Companion and Helper; He shall not forsake me or leave me. He is unfathomable and unequalled. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਹੋਇ ਸਕਾਰਥੁ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਚਰਨ ਬਸਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ naam padaarath hoe sakaarath hiradai charan basaeh |1| With the wealth of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, life becomes fruitful. Lord, please place Your Feet within my heart. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਏਹ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਏਹ ਜੁਗਤਾ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਸੰਗਾਹਿ ॥੨॥ eeh mukataa eeh jugataa raakhahu sant sangaeh |2| This is liberation, and this is the best way of life; please, keep me in the Society of the Saints. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਉ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਹਿ ॥੩॥੬॥੧੪੬॥ naam dhiaavau sehaj samaavau naanak har gun gaeh |3|6|146| Meditating on the Naam, I am absorbed in celestial peace; O Nanak, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||3||6||146|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਪਾਵੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ har santan paave |1| rahaau | The Lord’s Saints obtain them. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਇਆ ਗੁਨ ਰਸਿ ਰਸਿ ਗਾਵੇ ॥੧॥ aap gavaaeaa sev kamaaeaa gun ras ras gaave |1| They eradicate their self-conceit and serve the Lord; drenched in His Love, they sing His Glorious Praises. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਏਕਹਿ ਆਸਾ ਦਰਸ ਪਿਆਸਾ ਆਨ ਨ ਭਾਵੇ ॥੨॥ ekeh aasaa daras piaasaa aan na bhaave |2| They place their hopes in Him, and they thirst for the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. Nothing else is pleasing to them. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦਇਆ ਤੁਹਾਰੀ ਕਿਆ ਜੰਤ ਵਿਚਾਰੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਵੇ ॥੩॥੭॥੧੪੭॥ deaa tuhaaree kiaa jant vichaaree naanak bal bal jaave |3|7|147| This is Your Mercy, Lord; what can Your poor creatures do? Nanak is devoted, a sacrifice to You. ||3||7||147|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸਾਵਹੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਕੋ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ naam dhiaavahu ridai basaavahu tis bin ko naahee |1| Meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and enshrine Him within your heart. Without Him there is no other. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਨੀ ਆਈਐ ਸਰਬ ਫਲ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੁਖ ਜਾਹੀ ॥੨॥ prabh saranee aaeeai sarab fal paaeeai sagale dukh jaahee |2| Entering God’s Sanctuary, all rewards are obtained, and all pains are taken away. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੀਅਨ ਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਆਹੀ ॥੩॥੮॥੧੪੮॥ jeean ko daataa purakh bidhaataa naanak ghatt ghatt aahee |3|8|148| He is the Giver of all beings, the Architect of Destiny; O Nanak, He is contained in each and every heart. ||3||8||148|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਸਰਬ ਫਲ ਪਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਸੁਖੀਆ ਹੂਆ ॥੧॥ naam dhiaavai sarab fal paavai so jan sukheea hooaa |1| One who meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, obtains all rewards. That person becomes happy. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਰਾਜੁ ਕਹਾਵੈ ਹਉ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਬਾਧਿਓ ਨਲਿਨੀ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਸੂਆ ॥੨॥ raaj kahaavai hau karam kamaavai baadhio nalinee bhram sooaa |2| One who calls himself a king, and acts in ego and pride, is caught by his doubts, like a parrot in a trap. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਥੀਆ ॥੩॥੯॥੧੪੯॥ kahu naanak jis satigur bhettiaa so jan nihachal theea |3|9|149| Says Nanak, one who meets the True Guru, becomes permanent and immortal. ||3||9||149|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਓਹੁ ਨੇਹੁ ਨਵੇਲਾ ॥ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗਿ ਰਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ohu nehu navelaa | apune preetam siau laag rahai |1| rahaau | That love is forever fresh and new, Which is for the Beloved Lord. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਰਚੈ ॥੧॥ jo prabh bhaavai janam na aavai | har prem bhagat har preet rachai |1| One who is pleasing to God shall not be reincarnated again. He remains absorbed in the loving devotional worship of the Lord, in the Love of the Lord. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
