ਏਹਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਜਨੁ ਜੀਵਤ ਮਰੈ ॥ ehaa bhagat jan jeevat marai | True Devotion is to remain dead while yet alive. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਰੈ ॥ gur parasaadee bhavajal tarai | By Guru’s Grace, one crosses over the terrible world-ocean. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਇ ॥ gur kai bachan bhagat thaae paae | Through the Guru’s Teachings, one’s devotion is accepted, - Guru Amardas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਆਪਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੪॥ har jeeo aap vasai man aae |4| and then, the Dear Lord Himself comes to dwell in the mind. ||4|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥ har kripaa kare satiguroo milaae | When the Lord bestows His Mercy, He leads us to meet the True Guru. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਿਹਚਲ ਭਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ॥ nihachal bhagat har siau chit laae | Then, one’s devotion becomes steady, and the consciousness is centered upon the Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਭਗਤਿ ਰਤੇ ਤਿਨੑ ਸਚੀ ਸੋਇ ॥ bhagat rate tina sachee soe | Those who are imbued with Devotion have truthful reputations. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੫॥੧੨॥੫੧॥ naanak naam rate sukh hoe |5|12|51| O Nanak, imbued with the Naam, the Name of the Lord, peace is obtained. ||5||12||51|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਝੀ ਹੋਈ ॥ har kai bhaanai satigur milai sach sojhee hoee | By the Pleasure of the Lord’s Will, one meets the True Guru, and true understanding is obtained. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਹਰਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥ gur parasaadee man vasai har boojhai soee |1| By Guru’s Grace, the Lord abides in the mind, and one comes to understand the Lord. ||1|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਮੈ ਸਹੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਈ ॥ mai sahu daataa ek hai avar naahee koee | My Husband Lord, the Great Giver, is One. There is no other at all. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਤਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ gur kirapaa te man vasai taa sadaa sukh hoee |1| rahaau | By Guru’s merciful favor, He abides in the mind, and then, a lasting peace ensues. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਇਸੁ ਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਰ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥ eis jug meh nirbhau har naam hai paaeeai gur veechaar | In this age, the Lord’s Name is fearless; it is obtained by meditative reflection upon the Guru. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਜਮ ਕੈ ਵਸਿ ਹੈ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਧ ਗਵਾਰਿ ॥੨॥ bin naavai jam kai vas hai manamukh andh gavaar |2| Without the Name, the blind, foolish, self-willed manmukh is under Death’s power. ||2|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਜਨੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੈ ਬੂਝੈ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ॥ har kai bhaanai jan sevaa karai boojhai sach soee | By the Pleasure of the Lord’s Will, the humble being performs His service, and understands the True Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ ਭਾਣੈ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੩॥ har kai bhaanai saalaaheeai bhaanai maniai sukh hoee |3| By the Pleasure of the Lord’s Will, He is to be praised; surrendering to His Will, peace ensues. ||3|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਹੋਈ ॥ har kai bhaanai janam padaarath paaeaa mat aootam hoee | By the Pleasure of the Lord’s Will, the prize of this human birth is obtained, and the intellect is exalted. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੪॥੩੯॥੧੩॥੫੨॥ naanak naam salaeh toon guramukh gat hoee |4|39|13|52| O Nanak, praise the Naam, the Name of the Lord; as Gurmukh, you shall be emancipated. ||4||39||13||52|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਤੂੰ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਚਿਆਰੁ ਮੈਡਾ ਸਾਂਈ ॥ toon karataa sachiaar maiddaa saanee | You are the True Creator, my Lord Master. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੋ ਤਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਥੀਸੀ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਹਉ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jo tau bhaavai soee theesee jo toon dehi soee hau paaee |1| rahaau | That which is pleasing to Your Will, comes to pass. Whatever You give, that is what I receive. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਤੂੰ ਸਭਨੀ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ sabh teree toon sabhanee dhiaaeaa | All are Yours; all meditate on You. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹਿ ਤਿਨਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਤਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ jis no kripaa kareh tin naam ratan paaeaa | He alone, whom You bless with Your Mercy, obtains the jewel of the Naam. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਧਾ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥ guramukh laadhaa manamukh gavaaeaa | The Gurmukhs obtain it, and the self-willed manmukhs lose it. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪਿ ਵਿਛੋੜਿਆ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ tudh aap vichhorriaa aap milaaeaa |1| You Yourself separate the mortals, and You Yourself unite them. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੂੰ ਦਰੀਆਉ ਸਭ ਤੁਝ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ toon dareeaau sabh tujh hee maeh | You are the River - all are within You. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ tujh bin doojaa koee naeh | Other than You, there is no one at all. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਖੇਲੁ ॥ jeea jant sabh teraa khel | All beings and creatures are your play-things. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਵਿਜੋਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਸੰਜੋਗੀ ਮੇਲੁ ॥੨॥ vijog mil vichhurriaa sanjogee mel |2| The united ones are separated, and the separated ones are re-united. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂ ਜਾਣਾਇਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਜਾਣੈ ॥ jis no too jaanaaeihi soee jan jaanai | That humble being, whom You inspire to understand, understands; - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਆਖਿ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥ har gun sad hee aakh vakhaanai | he continually speaks and chants the Glorious Praises of the Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ jin har seviaa tin sukh paaeaa | One who serves the Lord, obtains peace. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਹਜੇ ਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੩॥ sahaje hee har naam samaaeaa |3| He is easily absorbed in the Lord’s Name. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਕੀਆ ਸਭੁ ਹੋਇ ॥ too aape karataa teraa keea sabh hoe | You Yourself are the Creator; by Your doing, all things come to be. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥ tudh bin doojaa avar na koe | Without You, there is no other at all. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੂ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖਹਿ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਸੋਇ ॥ too kar kar vekheh jaaneh soe | You watch over the creation, and understand it. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੧॥੫੩॥ jan naanak guramukh paragatt hoe |4|1|53| O servant Nanak, the Lord is revealed to the Gurmukh. ||4||1||53|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
