ਬਾਵਨ ਅਖਰ ਜੋਰੇ ਆਨਿ ॥ baavan akhar jore aan | The fifty-two letters have been joined together. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਕਿਆ ਨ ਅਖਰੁ ਏਕੁ ਪਛਾਨਿ ॥ sakiaa na akhar ek pachhaan | But people cannot recognize the One Word of God. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਤ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਬੀਰਾ ਕਹੈ ॥ sat kaa sabad kabeeraa kahai | Kabeer speaks the Shabad, the Word of Truth. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪੰਡਿਤ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਅਨਭੈ ਰਹੈ ॥ panddit hoe su anabhai rahai | One who is a Pandit, a religious scholar, must remain fearless. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪੰਡਿਤ ਲੋਗਹ ਕਉ ਬਿਉਹਾਰ ॥ panddit logah kau biauhaar | It is the business of the scholarly person to join letters. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਗਿਆਨਵੰਤ ਕਉ ਤਤੁ ਬੀਚਾਰ ॥ giaanavant kau tat beechaar | The spiritual person contemplates the essence of reality. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਜੀਅ ਜੈਸੀ ਬੁਧਿ ਹੋਈ ॥ jaa kai jeea jaisee budh hoee | According to the wisdom within the mind, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਾਨੈਗਾ ਸੋਈ ॥੪੫॥ keh kabeer jaanaigaa soee |45| says Kabeer, so does one come to understand. ||45|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਪੰਦ੍ਰਹ ਥਿਤੰੀ ਸਾਤ ਵਾਰ ॥ pandrah thitanee saat vaar | There are fifteen lunar days, and seven days of the week. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਉਰਵਾਰ ਨ ਪਾਰ ॥ keh kabeer uravaar na paar | Says Kabeer, it is neither here nor there. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਾਧਿਕ ਸਿਧ ਲਖੈ ਜਉ ਭੇਉ ॥ saadhik sidh lakhai jau bheo | When the Siddhas and seekers come to know the Lord’s mystery, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਉ ॥੧॥ aape karataa aape deo |1| they themselves become the Creator; they themselves become the Divine Lord. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਅੰਮਾਵਸ ਮਹਿ ਆਸ ਨਿਵਾਰਹੁ ॥ amaavas meh aas nivaarahu | On the day of the new moon, give up your hopes. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਰਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਰਹੁ ॥ antarajaamee raam samaarahu | Remember the Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜੀਵਤ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰ ॥ jeevat paavahu mokh duaar | You shall attain the Gate of Liberation while yet alive. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅਨਭਉ ਸਬਦੁ ਤਤੁ ਨਿਜੁ ਸਾਰ ॥੧॥ anbhau sabad tat nij saar |1| You shall come to know the Shabad, the Word of the Fearless Lord, and the essence of your own inner being. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਭਏ ਮਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਮਹਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ sant prasaad bhe man niramal har keeratan meh anadin jaagaa |1| rahaau |
- by the Grace of the Saints, her mind becomes pure; night and day, she remains awake and aware, singing the Kirtan of the Lord’s Praises. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪਰਿਵਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਕਰਹੁ ਬੀਚਾਰ ॥ parivaa preetam karahu beechaar | On the first day of the lunar cycle, contemplate the Beloved Lord. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਘਟ ਮਹਿ ਖੇਲੈ ਅਘਟ ਅਪਾਰ ॥ ghatt meh khelai aghatt apaar | He is playing within the heart; He has no body - He is Infinite. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਾਲ ਕਲਪਨਾ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਖਾਇ ॥ kaal kalapanaa kade na khaae | The pain of death never consumes that person - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖ ਮਹਿ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥ aad purakh meh rahai samaae |2| who remains absorbed in the Primal Lord God. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਦੁਤੀਆ ਦੁਹ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨੈ ਅੰਗ ॥ duteea duh kar jaanai ang | On the second day of the lunar cycle, know that there are two beings within the fiber of the body. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮਾਇਆ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਰਮੈ ਸਭ ਸੰਗ ॥ maaeaa braham ramai sabh sang | Maya and God are blended with everything. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਨਾ ਓਹੁ ਬਢੈ ਨ ਘਟਤਾ ਜਾਇ ॥ naa ohu badtai na ghattataa jaae | God does not increase or decrease. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅਕੁਲ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਏਕੈ ਭਾਇ ॥੩॥ akul niranjan ekai bhaae |3| He is unknowable and immaculate; He does not change. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤ੍ਰਿਤੀਆ ਤੀਨੇ ਸਮ ਕਰਿ ਲਿਆਵੈ ॥ triteea teene sam kar liaavai | On the third day of the lunar cycle, one who maintains his equilibrium amidst the three modes - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਆਨਦ ਮੂਲ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ aanad mool param pad paavai | finds the source of ecstasy and the highest status. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਉਪਜੈ ਬਿਸ੍ਵਾਸ ॥ saadhasangat upajai bisvaas | In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, faith wells up. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਾਹਰਿ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸ ॥੪॥ baahar bheetar sadaa pragaas |4| Outwardly, and deep within, God’s Light is always radiant. ||4|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਚਉਥਹਿ ਚੰਚਲ ਮਨ ਕਉ ਗਹਹੁ ॥ chautheh chanchal man kau gahahu | On the fourth day of the lunar cycle, restrain your fickle mind, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਬਹਹੁ ॥ kaam krodh sang kabahu na bahahu | and do not ever associate with sexual desire or anger. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਲ ਥਲ ਮਾਹੇ ਆਪਹਿ ਆਪ ॥ jal thal maahe aapeh aap | On land and sea, He Himself is in Himself. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਆਪੈ ਜਪਹੁ ਆਪਨਾ ਜਾਪ ॥੫॥ aapai japahu aapanaa jaap |5| He Himself meditates and chants His Chant. ||5|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪਾਂਚੈ ਪੰਚ ਤਤ ਬਿਸਥਾਰ ॥ paanchai panch tat bisathaar | On the fifth day of the lunar cycle, the five elements expand outward. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਨਿਕ ਕਾਮਿਨੀ ਜੁਗ ਬਿਉਹਾਰ ॥ kanik kaaminee jug biauhaar | Men are occupied in the pursuit of gold and women. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਸੁਧਾ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਵੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ prem sudhaa ras peevai koe | How rare are those who drink in the pure essence of the Lord’s Love. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਰਾ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖੁ ਫੇਰਿ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੬॥ jaraa maran dukh fer na hoe |6| They shall never again suffer the pains of old age and death. ||6|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਛਠਿ ਖਟੁ ਚਕ੍ਰ ਛਹੂੰ ਦਿਸ ਧਾਇ ॥ chhatth khatt chakr chhahoon dis dhaae | On the sixth day of the lunar cycle, the six chakras run in six directions. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਿਨੁ ਪਰਚੈ ਨਹੀ ਥਿਰਾ ਰਹਾਇ ॥ bin parachai nahee thiraa rahaae | Without enlightenment, the body does not remain steady. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਮੇਟਿ ਖਿਮਾ ਗਹਿ ਰਹਹੁ ॥ dubidhaa mett khimaa geh rahahu | So erase your duality and hold tight to forgiveness, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਕੀ ਸੂਲ ਨ ਸਹਹੁ ॥੭॥ karam dharam kee sool na sahahu |7| and you will not have to endure the torture of karma or religious rituals. ||7|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਾਤੈਂ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਬਾਚਾ ਜਾਣਿ ॥ saatain sat kar baachaa jaan | On the seventh day of the lunar cycle, know the Word as True, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਲੇਹੁ ਪਰਵਾਣਿ ॥ aatam raam lehu paravaan | and you shall be accepted by the Lord, the Supreme Soul. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਛੂਟੈ ਸੰਸਾ ਮਿਟਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਦੁਖ ॥ chhoottai sansaa mitt jaeh dukh | Your doubts shall be eradicated, and your pains eliminated, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੁੰਨ ਸਰੋਵਰਿ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਖ ॥੮॥ sun sarovar paavahu sukh |8| and in the ocean of the celestial void, you shall find peace. ||8|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅਸਟਮੀ ਅਸਟ ਧਾਤੁ ਕੀ ਕਾਇਆ ॥ asattamee asatt dhaat kee kaaeaa | On the eighth day of the lunar cycle, the body is made of the eight ingredients. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਅਕੁਲ ਮਹਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥ taa meh akul mahaa nidh raaeaa | Within it is the Unknowable Lord, the King of the supreme treasure. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਗੁਰ ਗਮ ਗਿਆਨ ਬਤਾਵੈ ਭੇਦ ॥ gur gam giaan bataavai bhed | The Guru, who knows this spiritual wisdom, reveals the secret of this mystery. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਉਲਟਾ ਰਹੈ ਅਭੰਗ ਅਛੇਦ ॥੯॥ aulattaa rahai abhang achhed |9| Turning away from the world, He abides in the Unbreakable and Impenetrable Lord. ||9|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਨਉਮੀ ਨਵੈ ਦੁਆਰ ਕਉ ਸਾਧਿ ॥ naumee navai duaar kau saadh | On the ninth day of the lunar cycle, discipline the nine gates of the body. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਹਤੀ ਮਨਸਾ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਬਾਂਧਿ ॥ bahatee manasaa raakhahu baandh | Keep your pulsating desires restrained. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਸਭ ਬੀਸਰਿ ਜਾਹੁ ॥ lobh moh sabh beesar jaahu | Forget all your greed and emotional attachment; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
