ਝਝਾ ਉਰਝਿ ਸੁਰਝਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨਾ ॥ jhajhaa urajh surajh nahee jaanaa | JHAJHA: You are entangled in the world, and you do not know how to get untangled. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਰਹਿਓ ਝਝਕਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਪਰਵਾਨਾ ॥ rahio jhajhak naahee paravaanaa | You hold back in fear, and are not approved by the Lord. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਤ ਝਖਿ ਝਖਿ ਅਉਰਨ ਸਮਝਾਵਾ ॥ kat jhakh jhakh aauran samajhaavaa | Why do you talk such nonsense, trying to convince others? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਝਗਰੁ ਕੀਏ ਝਗਰਉ ਹੀ ਪਾਵਾ ॥੧੫॥ jhagar kee jhagrau hee paavaa |15| Stirring up arguments, you shall only obtain more arguments. ||15|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਞੰਞਾ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਜੁ ਘਟ ਰਹਿਓ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਹਾ ਤਜਿ ਜਾਇ ॥ yanyaa nikatt ju ghatt rahio door kahaa taj jaae | NYANYA: He dwells near you, deep within your heart; why do you leave Him and go far away? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਾ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਜਗੁ ਢੂਢਿਅਉ ਨੇਰਉ ਪਾਇਅਉ ਤਾਹਿ ॥੧੬॥ jaa kaaran jag dtoodtiaau nerau paaeaau taeh |16| I searched the whole world for Him, but I found Him near myself. ||16|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਟਟਾ ਬਿਕਟ ਘਾਟ ਘਟ ਮਾਹੀ ॥ ttattaa bikatt ghaatt ghatt maahee | TATTA: It is such a difficult path, to find Him within your own heart. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਖੋਲਿ ਕਪਾਟ ਮਹਲਿ ਕਿ ਨ ਜਾਹੀ ॥ khol kapaatt mehal ki na jaahee | Open the doors within, and enter the Mansion of His Presence. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਦੇਖਿ ਅਟਲ ਟਲਿ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਵਾ ॥ dekh attal ttal kateh na jaavaa | Beholding the Immovable Lord, you shall not slip and go anywhere else. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਰਹੈ ਲਪਟਿ ਘਟ ਪਰਚਉ ਪਾਵਾ ॥੧੭॥ rahai lapatt ghatt parchau paavaa |17| You shall remain firmly attached to the Lord, and your heart will be happy. ||17|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਠਠਾ ਇਹੈ ਦੂਰਿ ਠਗ ਨੀਰਾ ॥ tthatthaa ihai door tthag neeraa | T’HAT’HA: Keep yourself far away from this mirage. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਨੀਠਿ ਨੀਠਿ ਮਨੁ ਕੀਆ ਧੀਰਾ ॥ neetth neetth man keea dheeraa | With great difficulty, I have calmed my mind. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਿਨਿ ਠਗਿ ਠਗਿਆ ਸਗਲ ਜਗੁ ਖਾਵਾ ॥ jin tthag tthagiaa sagal jag khaavaa | That cheater, who cheated and devoured the whole world - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੋ ਠਗੁ ਠਗਿਆ ਠਉਰ ਮਨੁ ਆਵਾ ॥੧੮॥ so tthag tthagiaa tthaur man aavaa |18|
- I have cheated that cheater, and my mind is now at peace. ||18|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਡਡਾ ਡਰ ਉਪਜੇ ਡਰੁ ਜਾਈ ॥ ddaddaa ddar upaje ddar jaaee | DADDA: When the Fear of God wells up, other fears depart. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਾ ਡਰ ਮਹਿ ਡਰੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥ taa ddar meh ddar rahiaa samaaee | Other fears are absorbed into that Fear. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਉ ਡਰ ਡਰੈ ਤ ਫਿਰਿ ਡਰੁ ਲਾਗੈ ॥ jau ddar ddarai ta fir ddar laagai | When one rejects the Fear of God, then other fears cling to him. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਨਿਡਰ ਹੂਆ ਡਰੁ ਉਰ ਹੋਇ ਭਾਗੈ ॥੧੯॥ niddar hooaa ddar ur hoe bhaagai |19| But if he becomes fearless, the fears of his heart run away. ||19|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਢਢਾ ਢਿਗ ਢੂਢਹਿ ਕਤ ਆਨਾ ॥ dtadtaa dtig dtoodteh kat aanaa | DHADHA: Why do you search in other directions? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਢੂਢਤ ਹੀ ਢਹਿ ਗਏ ਪਰਾਨਾ ॥ dtoodtat hee dteh ge paraanaa | Searching for Him like this, the breath of life runs out. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਚੜਿ ਸੁਮੇਰਿ ਢੂਢਿ ਜਬ ਆਵਾ ॥ charr sumer dtoodt jab aavaa | When I returned after climbing the mountain, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਿਹ ਗੜੁ ਗੜਿਓ ਸੁ ਗੜ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਵਾ ॥੨੦॥ jih garr garrio su garr meh paavaa |20| I found Him in the fortress - the fortress which He Himself made. ||20|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਣਾਣਾ ਰਣਿ ਰੂਤਉ ਨਰ ਨੇਹੀ ਕਰੈ ॥ naanaa ran rootau nar nehee karai | NANNA: The warrior who fights on the battle-field should keep up and press on. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਨਾ ਨਿਵੈ ਨਾ ਫੁਨਿ ਸੰਚਰੈ ॥ naa nivai naa fun sancharai | He should not yield, and he should not retreat. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਧੰਨਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਤਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਗਣੈ ॥ dhan janam taahee ko ganai | Blessed is the coming of one - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮਾਰੈ ਏਕਹਿ ਤਜਿ ਜਾਇ ਘਣੈ ॥੨੧॥ maarai ekeh taj jaae ghanai |21| who conquers the one and renounces the many. ||21|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਤਾ ਅਤਰ ਤਰਿਓ ਨਹ ਜਾਈ ॥ tataa atar tario neh jaaee | TATTA: The impassable world-ocean cannot be crossed over; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਮਾਈ ॥ tan tribhavan meh rahio samaaee | the body remains embroiled in the three worlds. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਉ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਤਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਵਾ ॥ jau tribhavan tan maeh samaavaa | But when the Lord of the three worlds enters into the body, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਉ ਤਤਹਿ ਤਤ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਵਾ ॥੨੨॥ tau tateh tat miliaa sach paavaa |22| then one’s essence merges with the essence of reality, and the True Lord is attained. ||22|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਥਥਾ ਅਥਾਹ ਥਾਹ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਵਾ ॥ thathaa athaah thaah nahee paavaa | T’HAT’HA: He is Unfathomable; His depths cannot be fathomed. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਓਹੁ ਅਥਾਹ ਇਹੁ ਥਿਰੁ ਨ ਰਹਾਵਾ ॥ ohu athaah ihu thir na rahaavaa | He is Unfathomable; this body is impermanent, and unstable. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਥੋੜੈ ਥਲਿ ਥਾਨਕ ਆਰੰਭੈ ॥ thorrai thal thaanak aaranbhai | The mortal builds his dwelling upon this tiny space; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਿਨੁ ਹੀ ਥਾਭਹ ਮੰਦਿਰੁ ਥੰਭੈ ॥੨੩॥ bin hee thaabhah mandir thanbhai |23| without any pillars, he wishes to support a mansion. ||23|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਦਦਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਜੁ ਬਿਨਸਨਹਾਰਾ ॥ dadaa dekh ju binasanahaaraa | DADDA: Whatever is seen shall perish. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਸ ਅਦੇਖਿ ਤਸ ਰਾਖਿ ਬਿਚਾਰਾ ॥ jas adekh tas raakh bichaaraa | Contemplate the One who is unseen. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਦਸਵੈ ਦੁਆਰਿ ਕੁੰਚੀ ਜਬ ਦੀਜੈ ॥ dasavai duaar kunchee jab deejai | When the key is inserted in the Tenth Gate, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਉ ਦਇਆਲ ਕੋ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਕੀਜੈ ॥੨੪॥ tau deaal ko darasan keejai |24| then the Blessed Vision of the Merciful Lord’s Darshan is seen. ||24|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਧਧਾ ਅਰਧਹਿ ਉਰਧ ਨਿਬੇਰਾ ॥ dhadhaa aradheh uradh niberaa | DHADHA: When one ascends from the lower realms of the earth to the higher realms of the heavens, then everything is resolved. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅਰਧਹਿ ਉਰਧਹ ਮੰਝਿ ਬਸੇਰਾ ॥ aradheh uradhah manjh baseraa | The Lord dwells in both the lower and higher worlds. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅਰਧਹ ਛਾਡਿ ਉਰਧ ਜਉ ਆਵਾ ॥ aradhah chhaadd uradh jau aavaa | Leaving the earth, the soul ascends to the heavens; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਉ ਅਰਧਹਿ ਉਰਧ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵਾ ॥੨੫॥ tau aradheh uradh miliaa sukh paavaa |25| then, the lower and higher join together, and peace is obtained. ||25|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਨੰਨਾ ਨਿਸਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਨਿਰਖਤ ਜਾਈ ॥ nanaa nis din nirakhat jaaee | NANNA: The days and nights go by; I am looking for the Lord. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਨਿਰਖਤ ਨੈਨ ਰਹੇ ਰਤਵਾਈ ॥ nirakhat nain rahe ratavaaee | Looking for Him, my eyes have become blood-shot. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਨਿਰਖਤ ਨਿਰਖਤ ਜਬ ਜਾਇ ਪਾਵਾ ॥ nirakhat nirakhat jab jaae paavaa | After looking and looking,when He is finally found, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਬ ਲੇ ਨਿਰਖਹਿ ਨਿਰਖ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ॥੨੬॥ tab le nirakheh nirakh milaavaa |26| then the one who was looking merges into the One who was looked for. ||26|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪਪਾ ਅਪਰ ਪਾਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਵਾ ॥ papaa apar paar nahee paavaa | PAPPA: He is limitless; His limits cannot be found. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪਰਮ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਪਰਚਉ ਲਾਵਾ ॥ param jot siau parchau laavaa | I have attuned myself to the Supreme Light. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪਾਂਚਉ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਨਿਗ੍ਰਹ ਕਰਈ ॥ paanchau indree nigrah karee | One who controls his five senses - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੋਊ ਨਿਰਵਰਈ ॥੨੭॥ paap pun doaoo niravaree |27| rises above both sin and virtue. ||27|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਫਫਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਫੂਲਹ ਫਲੁ ਹੋਈ ॥ fafaa bin foolah fal hoee | FAFFA: Even without the flower, the fruit is produced. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਾ ਫਲ ਫੰਕ ਲਖੈ ਜਉ ਕੋਈ ॥ taa fal fank lakhai jau koee | One who looks at a slice of that fruit - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਦੂਣਿ ਨ ਪਰਈ ਫੰਕ ਬਿਚਾਰੈ ॥ doon na paree fank bichaarai | and reflects on it, will not be consigned to reincarnation. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਾ ਫਲ ਫੰਕ ਸਭੈ ਤਨ ਫਾਰੈ ॥੨੮॥ taa fal fank sabhai tan faarai |28| A slice of that fruit slices all bodies. ||28|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਬਾ ਬਿੰਦਹਿ ਬਿੰਦ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ॥ babaa bindeh bind milaavaa | BABBA: When one drop blends with another drop, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਿੰਦਹਿ ਬਿੰਦਿ ਨ ਬਿਛੁਰਨ ਪਾਵਾ ॥ bindeh bind na bichhuran paavaa | then these drops cannot be separated again. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬੰਦਉ ਹੋਇ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਗਹੈ ॥ bandau hoe bandagee gahai | Become the Lord’s slave, and hold tight to His meditation. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
