ਕਉਨੁ ਕੋ ਪੂਤੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੋ ਕਾ ਕੋ ॥ kaun ko poot pitaa ko kaa ko | Whose son is he? Whose father is he? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਉਨੁ ਮਰੈ ਕੋ ਦੇਇ ਸੰਤਾਪੋ ॥੧॥ kaun marai ko dee santaapo |1| Who dies? Who inflicts pain? ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਹਰਿ ਠਗ ਜਗ ਕਉ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਲਾਈ ॥ har tthag jag kau tthgauree laaee | The Lord is the thug, who has drugged and robbed the whole world. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਬਿਓਗ ਕੈਸੇ ਜੀਅਉ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ har ke biog kaise jeeo meree maaee |1| rahaau | I am separated from the Lord; how can I survive, O my mother? ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਉਨ ਕੋ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਕਉਨ ਕੀ ਨਾਰੀ ॥ kaun ko purakh kaun kee naaree | Whose husband is he? Whose wife is she? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਇਆ ਤਤ ਲੇਹੁ ਸਰੀਰ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ eaa tat lehu sareer bichaaree |2| Contemplate this reality within your body. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਠਗ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥ keh kabeer tthag siau man maaniaa | Says Kabeer, my mind is pleased and satisfied with the thug. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਗਈ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਠਗੁ ਪਹਿਚਾਨਿਆ ॥੩॥੩੯॥ gee tthgauree tthag pahichaaniaa |3|39| The effects of the drug have vanished, since I recognized the thug. ||3||39|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅਬ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਭਏ ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮ ਸਹਾਈ ॥ ab mo kau bhe raajaa raam sahaaee | Now, the Lord, my King, has become my help and support. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਕਟਿ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ janam maran katt param gat paaee |1| rahaau | I have cut away birth and death, and attained the supreme status. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀਓ ਰਲਾਇ ॥ saadhoo sangat deeo ralaae | He has united me with the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤ ਤੇ ਲੀਓ ਛਡਾਇ ॥ panch doot te leeo chhaddaae | He has rescued me from the five demons. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਉ ਜਪੁ ਰਸਨਾ ॥ amrit naam jpau jap rasanaa | I chant with my tongue and meditate on the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅਮੋਲ ਦਾਸੁ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਨੋ ਅਪਨਾ ॥੧॥ amol daas kar leeno apanaa |1| He has made me his own slave. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀਨੋ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੁ ॥ satigur keeno praupakaar | The True Guru has blessed me with His generosity. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਾਢਿ ਲੀਨ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ॥ kaadt leen saagar sansaar | He has lifted me up, out of the world-ocean. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥ charan kamal siau laagee preet | I have fallen in love with His Lotus Feet. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਬਸੈ ਨਿਤਾ ਨਿਤ ਚੀਤ ॥੨॥ gobind basai nitaa nit cheet |2| The Lord of the Universe dwells continually within my consciousness. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮਾਇਆ ਤਪਤਿ ਬੁਝਿਆ ਅੰਗਿਆਰੁ ॥ maaeaa tapat bujhiaa angiaar | The burning fire of Maya has been extinguished. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮਨਿ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥ man santokh naam aadhaar | My mind is contented with the Support of the Naam. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥ jal thal poor rahe prabh suaamee | God, the Lord and Master, is totally permeating the water and the land. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਤ ਪੇਖਉ ਤਤ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੩॥ jat pekhau tat antarajaamee |3| Wherever I look, there is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅਪਨੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਈ ॥ apanee bhagat aap hee drirraaee | He Himself has implanted His devotional worship within me. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪੂਰਬ ਲਿਖਤੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥ poorab likhat miliaa mere bhaaee | By pre-ordained destiny, one meets Him, O my Siblings of Destiny. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਿਸੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਾਜ ॥ jis kripaa kare tis pooran saaj | When He grants His Grace, one is perfectly fulfilled. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਕੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਗਰੀਬ ਨਿਵਾਜ ॥੪॥੪੦॥ kabeer ko suaamee gareeb nivaaj |4|40| Kabeer’s Lord and Master is the Cherisher of the poor. ||4||40|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਲਿ ਹੈ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਥਲਿ ਹੈ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਸੂਤਕ ਓਪਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥ jal hai sootak thal hai sootak sootak opat hoee | There is pollution in the water, and pollution on the land; whatever is born is polluted. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਨਮੇ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਮੂਏ ਫੁਨਿ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਸੂਤਕ ਪਰਜ ਬਿਗੋਈ ॥੧॥ janame sootak mooe fun sootak sootak paraj bigoee |1| There is pollution in birth, and more pollution in death; all beings are ruined by pollution. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹੁ ਰੇ ਪੰਡੀਆ ਕਉਨ ਪਵੀਤਾ ॥ kahu re panddeea kaun paveetaa | Tell me, O Pandit, O religious scholar: who is clean and pure? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਐਸਾ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ aisaa giaan japahu mere meetaa |1| rahaau | Meditate on such spiritual wisdom, O my friend. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਨੈਨਹੁ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਬੈਨਹੁ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਸ੍ਰਵਨੀ ਹੋਈ ॥ nainahu sootak bainahu sootak sootak sravanee hoee | There is pollution in the eyes, and pollution in speech; there is pollution in the ears as well. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਪਰੈ ਰਸੋਈ ॥੨॥ aootthat baitthat sootak laagai sootak parai rasoee |2| Standing up and sitting down, one is polluted; one’s kitchen is polluted as well. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਫਾਸਨ ਕੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਊ ਜਾਨੈ ਛੂਟਨ ਕੀ ਇਕੁ ਕੋਈ ॥ faasan kee bidh sabh koaoo jaanai chhoottan kee ik koee | Everyone knows how to be caught, but hardly anyone knows how to escape. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਿਚਾਰੈ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਤਿਨੈ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੩॥੪੧॥ keh kabeer raam ridai bichaarai sootak tinai na hoee |3|41| Says Kabeer, those who meditate on the Lord within their hearts, are not polluted. ||3||41|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਝਗਰਾ ਏਕੁ ਨਿਬੇਰਹੁ ਰਾਮ ॥ jhagaraa ek niberahu raam | Resolve this one conflict for me, O Lord, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਉ ਤੁਮ ਅਪਨੇ ਜਨ ਸੌ ਕਾਮੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jau tum apane jan sau kaam |1| rahaau | if you require any work from Your humble servant. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਬਡਾ ਕਿ ਜਾ ਸਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥ eihu man baddaa ki jaa sau man maaniaa | Is this mind greater, or the One to whom the mind is attuned? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਰਾਮੁ ਬਡਾ ਕੈ ਰਾਮਹਿ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥੧॥ raam baddaa kai raameh jaaniaa |1| Is the Lord greater, or one who knows the Lord? ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਡਾ ਕਿ ਜਾਸੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥ brahamaa baddaa ki jaas upaaeaa | Is Brahma greater, or the One who created Him? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬੇਦੁ ਬਡਾ ਕਿ ਜਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥ bed baddaa ki jahaan te aaeaa |2| Are the Vedas greater, or the One from which they came? ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਹਉ ਭਇਆ ਉਦਾਸੁ ॥ keh kabeer hau bheaa udaas | Says Kabeer, I have become depressed; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤੀਰਥੁ ਬਡਾ ਕਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਦਾਸੁ ॥੩॥੪੨॥ teerath baddaa ki har kaa daas |3|42| is the sacred shrine of pilgrimage greater, or the slave of the Lord? ||3||42|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਦੇਖੌ ਭਾਈ ਗੵਾਨ ਕੀ ਆਈ ਆਂਧੀ ॥ dekhau bhaaee gayaan kee aaee aandhee | Behold, O Siblings of Destiny, the storm of spiritual wisdom has come. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਭੈ ਉਡਾਨੀ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕੀ ਟਾਟੀ ਰਹੈ ਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਬਾਂਧੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ sabhai uddaanee bhram kee ttaattee rahai na maaeaa baandhee |1| rahaau | It has totally blown away the thatched huts of doubt, and torn apart the bonds of Maya. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਦੁਚਿਤੇ ਕੀ ਦੁਇ ਥੂਨਿ ਗਿਰਾਨੀ ਮੋਹ ਬਲੇਡਾ ਟੂਟਾ ॥ duchite kee due thoon giraanee moh baleddaa ttoottaa | The two pillars of double-mindedness have fallen, and the beams of emotional attachment have come crashing down. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਿਸਨਾ ਛਾਨਿ ਪਰੀ ਧਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਭਾਂਡਾ ਫੂਟਾ ॥੧॥ tisanaa chhaan paree dhar aoopar duramat bhaanddaa foottaa |1| The thatched roof of greed has caved in, and the pitcher of evil-mindedness has been broken. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
