ਜਬ ਹਮ ਏਕੋ ਏਕੁ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥ jab ham eko ek kar jaaniaa | When I realize that there is One, and only One Lord, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਬ ਲੋਗਹ ਕਾਹੇ ਦੁਖੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੧॥ tab logah kaahe dukh maaniaa |1| why then should the people be upset? ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਹਮ ਅਪਤਹ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥ ham apatah apunee pat khoee | I am dishonored; I have lost my honor. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਹਮਰੈ ਖੋਜਿ ਪਰਹੁ ਮਤਿ ਕੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ hamarai khoj parahu mat koee |1| rahaau | No one should follow in my footsteps. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਹਮ ਮੰਦੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥ ham mande mande man maahee | I am bad, and bad in my mind as well. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਾਝ ਪਾਤਿ ਕਾਹੂ ਸਿਉ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੨॥ saajh paat kaahoo siau naahee |2| I have no partnership with anyone. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪਤਿ ਅਪਤਿ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਨਹੀ ਲਾਜ ॥ pat apat taa kee nahee laaj | I have no shame about honor or dishonor. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਬ ਜਾਨਹੁਗੇ ਜਬ ਉਘਰੈਗੋ ਪਾਜ ॥੩॥ tab jaanahuge jab ugharaigo paaj |3| But you shall know, when your own false covering is laid bare. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਪਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥ kahu kabeer pat har paravaan | Says Kabeer, honor is that which is accepted by the Lord. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਰਬ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਭਜੁ ਕੇਵਲ ਰਾਮੁ ॥੪॥੩॥ sarab tiaag bhaj keval raam |4|3| Give up everything - meditate, vibrate upon the Lord alone. ||4||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਨਗਨ ਫਿਰਤ ਜੌ ਪਾਈਐ ਜੋਗੁ ॥ nagan firat jau paaeeai jog | If Yoga could be obtained by wandering around naked, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਨ ਕਾ ਮਿਰਗੁ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਸਭੁ ਹੋਗੁ ॥੧॥ ban kaa mirag mukat sabh hog |1| then all the deer of the forest would be liberated. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਿਆ ਨਾਗੇ ਕਿਆ ਬਾਧੇ ਚਾਮ ॥ kiaa naage kiaa baadhe chaam | What does it matter whether someone goes naked, or wears a deer skin, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਬ ਨਹੀ ਚੀਨਸਿ ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jab nahee cheenas aatam raam |1| rahaau | if he does not remember the Lord within his soul? ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੂਡ ਮੁੰਡਾਏ ਜੌ ਸਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥ moodd munddaae jau sidh paaee | If the spiritual perfection of the Siddhas could be obtained by shaving the head, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੁਕਤੀ ਭੇਡ ਨ ਗਈਆ ਕਾਈ ॥੨॥ mukatee bhedd na geea kaaee |2| then why haven’t sheep found liberation? ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਿੰਦੁ ਰਾਖਿ ਜੌ ਤਰੀਐ ਭਾਈ ॥ bind raakh jau tareeai bhaaee | If someone could save himself by celibacy, O Siblings of Destiny, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਖੁਸਰੈ ਕਿਉ ਨ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੩॥ khusarai kiau na param gat paaee |3| why then haven’t eunuchs obtained the state of supreme dignity? ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਨਰ ਭਾਈ ॥ kahu kabeer sunahu nar bhaaee | Says Kabeer, listen, O men, O Siblings of Destiny: - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਨਿ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੪॥੪॥ raam naam bin kin gat paaee |4|4| without the Lord’s Name, who has ever found salvation? ||4||4|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਸੰਧਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਇਸ੍ਨਾਨੁ ਕਰਾਹੀ ॥ sandhiaa praat isanaan karaahee | Those who take their ritual baths in the evening and the morning - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਿਉ ਭਏ ਦਾਦੁਰ ਪਾਨੀ ਮਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ jiau bhe daadur paanee maahee |1| are like the frogs in the water. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਉ ਪੈ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਰਤਿ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ jau pai raam raam rat naahee | When people do not love the Lord’s Name, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤੇ ਸਭਿ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਕੈ ਜਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ te sabh dharam raae kai jaahee |1| rahaau | they must all go to the Righteous Judge of Dharma. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਾਇਆ ਰਤਿ ਬਹੁ ਰੂਪ ਰਚਾਹੀ ॥ kaaeaa rat bahu roop rachaahee | Those who love their bodies and try different looks, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਦਇਆ ਸੁਪਨੈ ਭੀ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੨॥ tin kau deaa supanai bhee naahee |2| do not feel compassion, even in dreams. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਚਾਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਕਹਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਆਗਰ ॥ chaar charan kaheh bahu aagar | The wise men call them four-footed creatures; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਕਲਿ ਸਾਗਰ ॥੩॥ saadhoo sukh paaveh kal saagar |3| the Holy find peace in this ocean of pain. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਬਹੁ ਕਾਇ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥ kahu kabeer bahu kaae kareejai | Says Kabeer, why do you perform so many rituals? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਰਬਸੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਜੈ ॥੪॥੫॥ sarabas chhodd mahaa ras peejai |4|5| Renounce everything, and drink in the supreme essence of the Lord. ||4||5|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਕਿਆ ਜਪੁ ਕਿਆ ਤਪੁ ਕਿਆ ਬ੍ਰਤ ਪੂਜਾ ॥ kiaa jap kiaa tap kiaa brat poojaa | What use is chanting, and what use is penance, fasting or devotional worship, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਭਾਉ ਹੈ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥ jaa kai ridai bhaau hai doojaa |1| to one whose heart is filled with the love of duality? ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਰੇ ਜਨ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਧਉ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਈਐ ॥ re jan man maadhau siau laaeeai | O humble people, link your mind to the Lord. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਨ ਚਤੁਰਭੁਜੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ chaturaaee na chaturabhuj paaeeai | rahaau | Through cleverness, the four-armed Lord is not obtained. ||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪਰਹਰੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਅਰੁ ਲੋਕਾਚਾਰੁ ॥ parahar lobh ar lokaachaar | Set aside your greed and worldly ways. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪਰਹਰੁ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ॥੨॥ parahar kaam krodh ahankaar |2| Set aside sexual desire, anger and egotism. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਰਮ ਕਰਤ ਬਧੇ ਅਹੰਮੇਵ ॥ karam karat badhe ahamev | Ritual practices bind people in egotism; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮਿਲਿ ਪਾਥਰ ਕੀ ਕਰਹੀ ਸੇਵ ॥੩॥ mil paathar kee karahee sev |3| meeting together, they worship stones. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ kahu kabeer bhagat kar paaeaa | Says Kabeer, He is obtained only by devotional worship. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਭੋਲੇ ਭਾਇ ਮਿਲੇ ਰਘੁਰਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੬॥ bhole bhaae mile raghuraaeaa |4|6| Through innocent love, the Lord is met. ||4||6|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਗਰਭ ਵਾਸ ਮਹਿ ਕੁਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਤੀ ॥ garabh vaas meh kul nahee jaatee | In the dwelling of the womb, there is no ancestry or social status. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬਿੰਦੁ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਉਤਪਾਤੀ ॥੧॥ braham bind te sabh utapaatee |1| All have originated from the Seed of God. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹੁ ਰੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਬਾਮਨ ਕਬ ਕੇ ਹੋਏ ॥ kahu re panddit baaman kab ke hoe | Tell me, O Pandit, O religious scholar: since when have you been a Brahmin? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਾਮਨ ਕਹਿ ਕਹਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਮਤ ਖੋਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ baaman keh keh janam mat khoe |1| rahaau | Don’t waste your life by continually claiming to be a Brahmin. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜੌ ਤੂੰ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਣੀ ਜਾਇਆ ॥ jau toon braahaman brahamanee jaaeaa | If you are indeed a Brahmin, born of a Brahmin mother, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਉ ਆਨ ਬਾਟ ਕਾਹੇ ਨਹੀ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥ tau aan baatt kaahe nahee aaeaa |2| then why didn’t you come by some other way? ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤੁਮ ਕਤ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਹਮ ਕਤ ਸੂਦ ॥ tum kat braahaman ham kat sood | How is it that you are a Brahmin, and I am of a low social status? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਹਮ ਕਤ ਲੋਹੂ ਤੁਮ ਕਤ ਦੂਧ ॥੩॥ ham kat lohoo tum kat doodh |3| How is it that I am formed of blood, and you are made of milk? ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੈ ॥ kahu kabeer jo braham beechaarai | Says Kabeer, one who contemplates God, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣੁ ਕਹੀਅਤੁ ਹੈ ਹਮਾਰੈ ॥੪॥੭॥ so braahaman kaheeat hai hamaarai |4|7| is said to be a Brahmin among us. ||4||7|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
