ਜਿਨਾ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਨ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਸੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਪੁਰਖ ਪਰਧਾਨ ॥ jinaa saas giraas na visarai se poore purakh paradhaan | Those who do not forget the Lord, with each and every breath and morsel of food, are the perfect and famous persons. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਕਰਮੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਲਗੈ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥ karamee satigur paaeeai anadin lagai dhiaan | By His Grace they find the True Guru; night and day, they meditate. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹਾ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਈ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ tin kee sangat mil rahaa daragah paaee maan | I join the society of those persons, and in so doing, I am honored in the Court of the Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਉਦੇ ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਉਚਰਹਿ ਉਠਦੇ ਭੀ ਵਾਹੁ ਕਰੇਨਿ ॥ saude vaahu vaahu uchareh utthade bhee vaahu karen | While asleep, they chant, “Waaho! Waaho!”, and while awake, they chant, “Waaho!” as well. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ ਜਿ ਨਿਤ ਉਠਿ ਸੰਮਾਲੇਨਿ ॥੧॥ naanak te mukh ujale ji nit utth samaalen |1| O Nanak, radiant are the faces of those, who rise up early each day, and dwell upon the Lord. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੀਐ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥ satigur seveeai aapanaa paaeeai naam apaar | Serving his True Guru, one obtains the Naam, the Name of the Infinite Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਭਉਜਲਿ ਡੁਬਦਿਆ ਕਢਿ ਲਏ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ॥ bhaujal ddubadiaa kadt le har daat kare daataar | The drowning person is lifted up and out of the terrifying world-ocean; the Great Giver gives the gift of the Lord’s Name. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਸੇ ਸਾਹ ਹੈ ਜਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਵਾਪਾਰੁ ॥ dhan dhan se saah hai ji naam kareh vaapaar | Blessed, blessed are those bankers who trade the Naam. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ਸਿਖ ਆਵਦੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਘਾਵਣਹਾਰੁ ॥ vanajaare sikh aavade sabad laghaavanahaar | The Sikhs, the traders come, and through the Word of His Shabad, they are carried across. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਭਈ ਤਿਨ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੨॥ jan naanak jin kau kripaa bhee tin seviaa sirajanahaar |2| O servant Nanak, they alone serve the Creator Lord, who are blessed by His Grace. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਪਉੜੀ ॥ paurree | Pauree: - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਚੁ ਸਚੇ ਕੇ ਜਨ ਭਗਤ ਹਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਸਚਾ ਜਿਨੀ ਅਰਾਧਿਆ ॥ sach sache ke jan bhagat heh sach sachaa jinee araadhiaa | Those who truly worship and adore the True Lord, are truly the humble devotees of the True Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਖੋਜਿ ਢੰਢੋਲਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਅੰਦਰਹੁ ਹੀ ਸਚੁ ਲਾਧਿਆ ॥ jin guramukh khoj dtandtoliaa tin andarahu hee sach laadhiaa | Those Gurmukhs who search and seek, find the True One within themselves. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਚੁ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਚੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਕਾਲੁ ਕੰਟਕੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਤਿਨੀ ਸਾਧਿਆ ॥ sach saahib sach jinee seviaa kaal kanttak maar tinee saadhiaa | Those who truly serve their True Lord and Master, overwhelm and conquer Death, the torturer. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਚੁ ਸਚਾ ਸਭ ਦੂ ਵਡਾ ਹੈ ਸਚੁ ਸੇਵਨਿ ਸੇ ਸਚਿ ਰਲਾਧਿਆ ॥ sach sachaa sabh doo vaddaa hai sach sevan se sach ralaadhiaa | The True One is truly the greatest of all; those who serve the True One are blended with the True One. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਚੁ ਸਚੇ ਨੋ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ਹੈ ਸਚੁ ਸਚਾ ਸੇਵਿ ਫਲਾਧਿਆ ॥੨੨॥ sach sache no saabaas hai sach sachaa sev falaadhiaa |22| Blessed and acclaimed is the Truest of the True; serving the Truest of the True, one blossoms forth in fruition. ||22|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੪ ॥ salok mahalaa 4 | Salok, Fourth Mehl: - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਮੁਗਧੁ ਹੈ ਨਾਮਹੀਣ ਭਰਮਾਇ ॥ manamukh praanee mugadh hai naamaheen bharamaae | The self-willed manmukh is foolish; he wanders around without the Naam, the Name of the Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਨੂਆ ਨਾ ਟਿਕੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੂਨੀ ਪਾਇ ॥ bin gur manooaa naa ttikai fir fir joonee paae | Without the Guru, his mind is not held steady, and he is reincarnated, over and over again. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲ ਹੋਹਿ ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਆਇ ॥ har prabh aap deaal hohi taan satigur miliaa aae | But when the Lord God Himself becomes merciful to him, then the True Guru comes to meet him. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਤੂ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ jan naanak naam salaeh too janam maran dukh jaae |1| O servant Nanak, praise the Naam; the pains of birth and death shall come to an end. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥ gur saalaahee aapanaa bahu bidh rang subhaae | I praise my Guru in so many ways, with joyful love and affection. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਰਤਾ ਰਖਿਆ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਇ ॥ satigur setee man rataa rakhiaa banat banaae | My mind is imbued with the True Guru; He has preserved the make of its making. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਹਵਾ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ਨ ਰਜਈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥ jihavaa saalaeh na rajee har preetam chit laae | My tongue is not satisfied by praising Him; He has linked my consciousness with the Lord, my Beloved. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਵੈ ਕੀ ਮਨਿ ਭੁਖ ਹੈ ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਖਾਇ ॥੨॥ naanak naavai kee man bhukh hai man tripatai har ras khaae |2| O Nanak, my mind hungers for the Name of the Lord; my mind is satisfied, tasting the sublime essence of the Lord. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਪਉੜੀ ॥ paurree | Pauree: - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਚੁ ਸਚਾ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਬਣਾਈਆ ॥ sach sachaa kudarat jaaneeai din raatee jin banaaeea | The True Lord is truly known for His all-powerful creative nature; He fashioned the days and the nights. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸੋ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਚੇ ਕੀਆ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ ॥ so sach salaahee sadaa sadaa sach sache keea vaddiaaeea | I praise that True Lord, forever and ever; True is the glorious greatness of the True Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹ ਸਚੁ ਸਚੁ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਈਆ ॥ saalaahee sach salaah sach sach keemat kinai na paaeea | True are the Praises of the Praiseworthy True Lord; the value of the True Lord cannot be appraised. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤਾ ਹਾਜਰੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਈਆ ॥ jaa miliaa pooraa satiguroo taa haajar nadaree aaeea | When someone meets the Perfect True Guru, then His Sublime Presence comes to be seen. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਚੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਿਨੀ ਸਲਾਹਿਆ ਤਿਨਾ ਭੁਖਾ ਸਭਿ ਗਵਾਈਆ ॥੨੩॥ sach guramukh jinee salaahiaa tinaa bhukhaa sabh gavaaeea |23| Those Gurmukhs who praise the True Lord - all their hunger is gone. ||23|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੪ ॥ salok mahalaa 4 | Salok, Fourth Mehl: - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਮੈ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਖੋਜਿ ਖੋਜੇਦਿਆ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲਧਾ ਲੋੜਿ ॥ mai man tan khoj khojediaa so prabh ladhaa lorr | Searching and examining my mind and body, I have found that God, whom I longed for. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਵਿਸਟੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਮੈ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦਿਤਾ ਜੋੜਿ ॥੧॥ visatt guroo mai paaeaa jin har prabh ditaa jorr |1| I have found the Guru, the Divine Intermediary, who has united me with the Lord God. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਮਃ ੩ ॥ mahalaa 3 | Third Mehl: - Guru Amardas Ji
ਮਾਇਆਧਾਰੀ ਅਤਿ ਅੰਨਾ ਬੋਲਾ ॥ maaeaadhaaree at anaa bolaa | One who is attached to Maya is totally blind and deaf. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਸੁਣਈ ਬਹੁ ਰੋਲ ਘਚੋਲਾ ॥ sabad na sunee bahu rol ghacholaa | He does not listen to the Word of the Shabad; he makes a great uproar and tumult. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਪੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ guramukh jaapai sabad liv laae | The Gurmukhs chant and meditate on the Shabad, and lovingly center their consciousness on it. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਣਿ ਮੰਨੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥ har naam sun mane har naam samaae | They hear and believe in the Name of the Lord; they are absorbed in the Name of the Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੁ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥ jo tis bhaavai su kare karaaeaa | Whatever pleases God, He causes that to be done. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਵਜਦਾ ਜੰਤੁ ਵਜਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ naanak vajadaa jant vajaaeaa |2| O Nanak, human beings are the instruments which vibrate as God plays them. ||2|| - Guru Amardas Ji
