ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਓਇ ਭੀ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਹਿ ॥੨॥ naanak sant bhaavai taa oe bhee gat paeh |2| O Nanak, if it pleases the Saint, even then, he may be saved. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਮਹਾ ਅਤਤਾਈ ॥ sant kaa nindak mahaa atataaee | The slanderer of the Saint is the worst evil-doer. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਟਿਕਨੁ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥ sant kaa nindak khin ttikan na paaee | The slanderer of the Saint has not even a moment’s rest. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਮਹਾ ਹਤਿਆਰਾ ॥ sant kaa nindak mahaa hatiaaraa | The slanderer of the Saint is a brutal butcher. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰਿ ਮਾਰਾ ॥ sant kaa nindak paramesur maaraa | The slanderer of the Saint is cursed by the Transcendent Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਰਾਜ ਤੇ ਹੀਨੁ ॥ sant kaa nindak raaj te heen | The slanderer of the Saint has no kingdom. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਦੁਖੀਆ ਅਰੁ ਦੀਨੁ ॥ sant kaa nindak dukheea ar deen | The slanderer of the Saint becomes miserable and poor. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਉ ਸਰਬ ਰੋਗ ॥ sant ke nindak kau sarab rog | The slanderer of the Saint contracts all diseases. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਬਿਜੋਗ ॥ sant ke nindak kau sadaa bijog | The slanderer of the Saint is forever separated. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੋਖ ਮਹਿ ਦੋਖੁ ॥ sant kee nindaa dokh meh dokh | To slander a Saint is the worst sin of sins. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਉਸ ਕਾ ਭੀ ਹੋਇ ਮੋਖੁ ॥੩॥ naanak sant bhaavai taa us kaa bhee hoe mokh |3| O Nanak, if it pleases the Saint, then even this one may be liberated. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਸਦਾ ਅਪਵਿਤੁ ॥ sant kaa dokhee sadaa apavit | The slanderer of the Saint is forever impure. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਿਸੈ ਕਾ ਨਹੀ ਮਿਤੁ ॥ sant kaa dokhee kisai kaa nahee mit | The slanderer of the Saint is nobody’s friend. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ ਡਾਨੁ ਲਾਗੈ ॥ sant ke dokhee kau ddaan laagai | The slanderer of the Saint shall be punished. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ ਸਭ ਤਿਆਗੈ ॥ sant ke dokhee kau sabh tiaagai | The slanderer of the Saint is abandoned by all. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਮਹਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ॥ sant kaa dokhee mahaa ahankaaree | The slanderer of the Saint is totally egocentric. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਸਦਾ ਬਿਕਾਰੀ ॥ sant kaa dokhee sadaa bikaaree | The slanderer of the Saint is forever corrupt. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਜਨਮੈ ਮਰੈ ॥ sant kaa dokhee janamai marai | The slanderer of the Saint must endure birth and death. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕੀ ਦੂਖਨਾ ਸੁਖ ਤੇ ਟਰੈ ॥ sant kee dookhanaa sukh te ttarai | The slanderer of the Saint is devoid of peace. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਠਾਉ ॥ sant ke dokhee kau naahee tthaau | The slanderer of the Saint has no place of rest. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੪॥ naanak sant bhaavai taa le milaae |4| O Nanak, if it pleases the Saint, then even such a one may merge in union. ||4|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਅਧ ਬੀਚ ਤੇ ਟੂਟੈ ॥ sant kaa dokhee adh beech te ttoottai | The slanderer of the Saint breaks down mid-way. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਿਤੈ ਕਾਜਿ ਨ ਪਹੂਚੈ ॥ sant kaa dokhee kitai kaaj na pahoochai | The slanderer of the Saint cannot accomplish his tasks. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ ਉਦਿਆਨ ਭ੍ਰਮਾਈਐ ॥ sant ke dokhee kau udiaan bhramaaeeai | The slanderer of the Saint wanders in the wilderness. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਉਝੜਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ sant kaa dokhee ujharr paaeeai | The slanderer of the Saint is misled into desolation. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਅੰਤਰ ਤੇ ਥੋਥਾ ॥ sant kaa dokhee antar te thothaa | The slanderer of the Saint is empty inside, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਉ ਸਾਸ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਿਰਤਕ ਕੀ ਲੋਥਾ ॥ jiau saas binaa miratak kee lothaa | like the corpse of a dead man, without the breath of life. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕੀ ਜੜ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ sant ke dokhee kee jarr kichh naeh | The slanderer of the Saint has no heritage at all. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪਨ ਬੀਜਿ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਖਾਹਿ ॥ aapan beej aape hee khaeh | He himself must eat what he has planted. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੁ ॥ sant ke dokhee kau avar na raakhanahaar | The slanderer of the Saint cannot be saved by anyone else. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਲਏ ਉਬਾਰਿ ॥੫॥ naanak sant bhaavai taa le ubaar |5| O Nanak, if it pleases the Saint, then even he may be saved. ||5|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਇਉ ਬਿਲਲਾਇ ॥ sant kaa dokhee iau bilalaae | The slanderer of the Saint bewails like this - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਬਿਹੂਨ ਮਛੁਲੀ ਤੜਫੜਾਇ ॥ jiau jal bihoon machhulee tarrafarraae | like a fish, out of water, writhing in agony. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਭੂਖਾ ਨਹੀ ਰਾਜੈ ॥ sant kaa dokhee bhookhaa nahee raajai | The slanderer of the Saint is hungry and is never satisfied, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਉ ਪਾਵਕੁ ਈਧਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਧ੍ਰਾਪੈ ॥ jiau paavak eedhan nahee dhraapai | as fire is not satisfied by fuel. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਛੁਟੈ ਇਕੇਲਾ ॥ sant kaa dokhee chhuttai ikelaa | The slanderer of the Saint is left all alone, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਉ ਬੂਆੜੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਖੇਤ ਮਾਹਿ ਦੁਹੇਲਾ ॥ jiau booaarr til khet maeh duhelaa | like the miserable barren sesame stalk abandoned in the field. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਧਰਮ ਤੇ ਰਹਤ ॥ sant kaa dokhee dharam te rehat | The slanderer of the Saint is devoid of faith. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਸਦ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਕਹਤ ॥ sant kaa dokhee sad mithiaa kehat | The slanderer of the Saint constantly lies. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਿਰਤੁ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਾ ਧੁਰਿ ਹੀ ਪਇਆ ॥ kirat nindak kaa dhur hee peaa | The fate of the slanderer is pre-ordained from the very beginning of time. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਥਿਆ ॥੬॥ naanak jo tis bhaavai soee thiaa |6| O Nanak, whatever pleases God’s Will comes to pass. ||6|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਬਿਗੜ ਰੂਪੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਾਇ ॥ sant kaa dokhee bigarr roop hoe jaae | The slanderer of the Saint becomes deformed. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ ॥ sant ke dokhee kau daragah milai sajaae | The slanderer of the Saint receives his punishment in the Court of the Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਸਦਾ ਸਹਕਾਈਐ ॥ sant kaa dokhee sadaa sahakaaeeai | The slanderer of the Saint is eternally in limbo. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਨ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਜੀਵਾਈਐ ॥ sant kaa dokhee na marai na jeevaaeeai | He does not die, but he does not live either. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕੀ ਪੁਜੈ ਨ ਆਸਾ ॥ sant ke dokhee kee pujai na aasaa | The hopes of the slanderer of the Saint are not fulfilled. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਉਠਿ ਚਲੈ ਨਿਰਾਸਾ ॥ sant kaa dokhee utth chalai niraasaa | The slanderer of the Saint departs disappointed. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕੈ ਦੋਖਿ ਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਟੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ sant kai dokh na trisattai koe | Slandering the Saint, no one attains satisfaction. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੈਸਾ ਭਾਵੈ ਤੈਸਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਇ ॥ jaisaa bhaavai taisaa koee hoe | As it pleases the Lord, so do people become; - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪਇਆ ਕਿਰਤੁ ਨ ਮੇਟੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ peaa kirat na mettai koe | no one can erase their past actions. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾਨੈ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥੭॥ naanak jaanai sachaa soe |7| O Nanak, the True Lord alone knows all. ||7|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਭ ਘਟ ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਓਹੁ ਕਰਨੈਹਾਰੁ ॥ sabh ghatt tis ke ohu karanaihaar | All hearts are His; He is the Creator. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਤਿਸ ਕਉ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੁ ॥ sadaa sadaa tis kau namasakaar | Forever and ever, I bow to Him in reverence. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥ prabh kee usatat karahu din raat | Praise God, day and night. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ॥ tiseh dhiaavahu saas giraas | Meditate on Him with every breath and morsel of food. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਭੁ ਕਛੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ॥ sabh kachh varatai tis kaa keea | Everything happens as He wills. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੈਸਾ ਕਰੇ ਤੈਸਾ ਕੋ ਥੀਆ ॥ jaisaa kare taisaa ko theea | As He wills, so people become. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਪਨਾ ਖੇਲੁ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਨੈਹਾਰੁ ॥ apanaa khel aap karanaihaar | He Himself is the play, and He Himself is the actor. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦੂਸਰ ਕਉਨੁ ਕਹੈ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ doosar kaun kahai beechaar | Who else can speak or deliberate upon this? - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
