ਮੋਹਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਊਚੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਮਹਲ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥ mohan tere aooche mandar mehal apaaraa | O Mohan, your temple is so lofty, and your mansion is unsurpassed. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੋਹਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੋਹਨਿ ਦੁਆਰ ਜੀਉ ਸੰਤ ਧਰਮ ਸਾਲਾ ॥ mohan tere sohan duaar jeeo sant dharam saalaa | O Mohan, your gates are so beautiful. They are the worship-houses of the Saints. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਧਰਮ ਸਾਲ ਅਪਾਰ ਦੈਆਰ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਸਦਾ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਵਹੇ ॥ dharam saal apaar daiaar tthaakur sadaa keeratan gaavahe | In these incomparable worship-houses, they continually sing Kirtan, the Praises of their Lord and Master. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਹ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਤ ਇਕਤ੍ਰ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਤਹਾ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੇ ॥ jeh saadh sant ikatr hoveh tahaa tujheh dhiaavahe | Where the Saints and the Holy gather together, there they meditate on you. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਮਇਆ ਦਇਆਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੋਹੁ ਦੀਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਰਾ ॥ kar deaa meaa deaal suaamee hohu deen kripaaraa | Be Kind and Compassionate, O Merciful Lord; be Merciful to the meek. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸ ਪਿਆਸੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਦਰਸਨ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ binavant naanak daras piaase mil darasan sukh saaraa |1| Prays Nanak, I thirst for the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan; receiving Your Darshan, I am totally at peace. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਮਾਨਹਿ ਤ ਏਕੁ ਅਲੇਖੁ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਜਿਨਹਿ ਸਭ ਕਲ ਧਾਰੀਆ ॥ maaneh ta ek alekh tthaakur jineh sabh kal dhaareea | You adore the One Lord, the Unknowable Lord and Master; His Power gives Support to all. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤੁਧੁ ਬਚਨਿ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਵਸਿ ਕੀਆ ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਨਵਾਰੀਆ ॥ tudh bachan gur kai vas keea aad purakh banavaareea | Through the Guru’s Word, you have captured the heart of the Primal Being, the Lord of the World. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤੂੰ ਆਪਿ ਚਲਿਆ ਆਪਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਆਪਿ ਸਭ ਕਲ ਧਾਰੀਆ ॥ toon aap chaliaa aap rahiaa aap sabh kal dhaareea | You Yourself move, and You Yourself stand still; You Yourself support the whole creation. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੈਜ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਸਭ ਸੇਵਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀਆ ॥੨॥ binavant naanak paij raakhahu sabh sevak saran tumaareea |2| Prays Nanak, please preserve my honor; all Your servants seek the Protection of Your Sanctuary. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੋਹਨ ਤੁਧੁ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਦਰਸ ਧਿਆਨਾ ॥ mohan tudh satasangat dhiaavai daras dhiaanaa | O Mohan, the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, meditates on you; they meditate on the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੋਹਨ ਜਮੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਤੁਧੁ ਜਪਹਿ ਨਿਦਾਨਾ ॥ mohan jam nerr na aavai tudh japeh nidaanaa | O Mohan, the Messenger of Death does not even approach those who meditate on You, at the last moment. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਲਗੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਜੋ ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੇ ॥ jamakaal tin kau lagai naahee jo ik man dhiaavahe | The Messenger of Death cannot touch those who meditate on You single-mindedly. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਨਿ ਬਚਨਿ ਕਰਮਿ ਜਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਸੇ ਸਭੇ ਫਲ ਪਾਵਹੇ ॥ man bachan karam ji tudh araadheh se sabhe fal paavahe | Those who worship and adore You in thought, word and deed, obtain all fruits and rewards. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਲ ਮੂਤ ਮੂੜ ਜਿ ਮੁਗਧ ਹੋਤੇ ਸਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਸੁਗਿਆਨਾ ॥ mal moot moorr ji mugadh hote si dekh daras sugiaanaa | Those who are foolish and stupid, filthy with urine and manure, become all-knowing upon gaining the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਜੁ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਭਗਵਾਨਾ ॥੩॥ binavant naanak raaj nihachal pooran purakh bhagavaanaa |3| Prays Nanak, Your Kingdom is Eternal, O Perfect Primal Lord God. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੋਹਨ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਫਲੁ ਫਲਿਆ ਸਣੁ ਪਰਵਾਰੇ ॥ mohan toon sufal faliaa san paravaare | O Mohan, you have blossomed forth with the flower of your family. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੋਹਨ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਮੀਤ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਸਭਿ ਤਾਰੇ ॥ mohan putr meet bhaaee kuttanb sabh taare | O Mohan, your children, friends, siblings and relatives have all been saved. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਾਰਿਆ ਜਹਾਨੁ ਲਹਿਆ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ taariaa jahaan lahiaa abhimaan jinee darasan paaeaa | You save those who give up their egotistical pride, upon gaining the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਨੀ ਤੁਧਨੋ ਧੰਨੁ ਕਹਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਜਮੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਇਆ ॥ jinee tudhano dhan kahiaa tin jam nerr na aaeaa | The Messenger of Death does not even approach those who call you ‘blessed’. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਕਥੇ ਨ ਜਾਹੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਮੁਰਾਰੇ ॥ beant gun tere kathe na jaahee satigur purakh muraare | Your Virtues are unlimited - they cannot be described, O True Guru, Primal Being, Destroyer of demons. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਟੇਕ ਰਾਖੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਲਗਿ ਤਰਿਆ ਸੰਸਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੨॥ binavant naanak ttek raakhee jit lag tariaa sansaare |4|2| Prays Nanak, Yours is that Anchor, holding onto which the whole world is saved. ||4||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਪਾਵਕੋ ਤਿਨ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਦਾਹਨਹਾਰ ॥੧॥ naanak raam naam jap paavako tin kilabikh daahanahaar |1| O Nanak, meditation on the Lord’s Name is the fire which burns away sinful mistakes like straw. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਧਿਆਇ ਮਨਾ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ਮੁਕੰਦੇ ਕਟੀਐ ਕਾਲ ਦੁਖ ਫਾਧੋ ॥ dhiaae manaa muraar mukande katteeai kaal dukh faadho | Meditate, O my mind, on the Lord, the Destroyer of ego, the Giver of salvation, who cuts away the noose of agonizing death. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦੁਖਹਰਣ ਦੀਨ ਸਰਣ ਸ੍ਰੀਧਰ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਅਰਾਧੀਐ ॥ dukhaharan deen saran sreedhar charan kamal araadheeai | Meditate lovingly on the Lotus Feet of the Lord, the Destroyer of distress, the Protector of the poor, the Lord of excellence. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਮ ਪੰਥੁ ਬਿਖੜਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਨਿਮਖ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਾਧੀਐ ॥ jam panth bikharraa agan saagar nimakh simarat saadheeai | The treacherous path of death and the terrifying ocean of fire are crossed over by meditating in remembrance on the Lord, even for an instant. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਲਿਮਲਹ ਦਹਤਾ ਸੁਧੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਅਰਾਧੋ ॥ kalimalah dahataa sudh karataa dinas rain araadho | Meditate day and night on the Lord, the Destroyer of desire, the Purifier of pollution. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸ੍ਰੀਰੰਗੋ ਦਇਆਲ ਮਨੋਹਰੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਬਿਰਦਾਇਆ ॥ sreerango deaal manohar bhagat vachhal biradaaeaa | He is the Greatest Lover, the Merciful Master, the Enticer of the mind, the Support of His devotees - this is His very nature. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
