ਮਇਆ ਕਰੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ meaa karee pooran har raaeaa |1| rahaau | The Sovereign Lord, the Perfect King, has shown His Mercy to me. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਗ ॥ kahu naanak jaa ke poore bhaag | Says Nanak, one whose destiny is perfect, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ॥੨॥੧੦੬॥ har har naam asathir sohaag |2|106| meditates on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, the Everlasting Husband. ||2||106|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਧੋਤੀ ਖੋਲਿ ਵਿਛਾਏ ਹੇਠਿ ॥ dhotee khol vichhaae hetth | He opens his loin-cloth, and spreads it out beneath him. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗਰਧਪ ਵਾਂਗੂ ਲਾਹੇ ਪੇਟਿ ॥੧॥ garadhap vaangoo laahe pett |1| Like a donkey, he gulps down all that comes his way. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਿਨੁ ਕਰਤੂਤੀ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ bin karatootee mukat na paaeeai | Without good deeds, liberation is not obtained. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ mukat padaarath naam dhiaaeeai |1| rahaau | The wealth of liberation is only obtained by meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪੂਜਾ ਤਿਲਕ ਕਰਤ ਇਸਨਾਨਾਂ ॥ poojaa tilak karat isanaanaan | He performs worship ceremonies, applies the ceremonial tilak mark to his forehead, and takes his ritual cleansing baths; - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਛੁਰੀ ਕਾਢਿ ਲੇਵੈ ਹਥਿ ਦਾਨਾ ॥੨॥ chhuree kaadt levai hath daanaa |2| he pulls out his knife, and demands donations. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬੇਦੁ ਪੜੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਮੀਠੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ bed parrai mukh meetthee baanee | With his mouth, he recites the Vedas in sweet musical measures, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੀਆਂ ਕੁਹਤ ਨ ਸੰਗੈ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥੩॥ jeean kuhat na sangai paraanee |3| and yet he does not hesitate to take the lives of others. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੈ ॥ kahu naanak jis kirapaa dhaarai | Says Nanak, when God showers His Mercy, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਿਰਦਾ ਸੁਧੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੈ ॥੪॥੧੦੭॥ hiradaa sudh braham beechaarai |4|107| even his heart becomes pure, and he contemplates God. ||4||107|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਕਾਜ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ satigur tumare kaaj savaare |1| rahaau | The True Guru shall resolve all your affairs. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦੁਸਟ ਦੂਤ ਪਰਮੇਸਰਿ ਮਾਰੇ ॥ dusatt doot paramesar maare | The Transcendent Lord has struck down the wicked and the evil. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਨ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਖੀ ਕਰਤਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ jan kee paij rakhee karataare |1| The Creator has preserved the honor of His servant. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਾਦਿਸਾਹ ਸਾਹ ਸਭ ਵਸਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੇ ॥ baadisaah saah sabh vas kar deene | The kings and emperors are all under his power; - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮ ਮਹਾ ਰਸ ਪੀਨੇ ॥੨॥ amrit naam mahaa ras peene |2| he drinks deeply of the most sublime essence of the Ambrosial Naam. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਿਰਭਉ ਹੋਇ ਭਜਹੁ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥ nirbhau hoe bhajahu bhagavaan | Meditate fearlessly on the Lord God. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੀਨੋ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੩॥ saadhasangat mil keeno daan |3| Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, this gift is given. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥ saran pare prabh antarajaamee | Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of God, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਓਟ ਪਕਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥੪॥੧੦੮॥ naanak ott pakaree prabh suaamee |4|108| he grasps the Support of God, his Lord and Master. ||4||108|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਹੀ ਛਲੈ ॥ har sang raate maaeaa nahee chhalai | One who is attuned to the Lord, shall not be enticed by Maya. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਨਹੀ ਡੂਬੈ ਜਲਾ ॥ har sang raate nahee ddoobai jalaa | One who is attuned to the Lord, shall not be drowned in water. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਸੁਫਲ ਫਲਾ ॥੧॥ har sang raate sufal falaa |1| One who is attuned to the Lord, is prosperous and fruitful. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਭ ਭੈ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੈ ਨਾਇ ॥ sabh bhai mitteh tumaarai naae | All fear is eradicated by Your Name. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਭੇਟਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ bhettat sang har har gun gaae | rahaau | Joining the Sangat, the Holy Congregation, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har. ||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਮਿਟੈ ਸਭ ਚਿੰਤਾ ॥ har sang raate mittai sabh chintaa | One who is attuned to the Lord, is free of all anxieties. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਸੋ ਰਚੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਾਧ ਕਾ ਮੰਤਾ ॥ har siau so rachai jis saadh kaa mantaa | One who is attuned to the Lord, is blessed with the Mantra of the Holy. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਨਹੀ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ॥ har sang raate jam kee nahee traas | One who is attuned to the Lord, is not haunted by the fear of death. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸ ॥੨॥ har sang raate pooran aas |2| One who is attuned to the Lord, sees all his hopes fulfilled. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥ har sang raate dookh na laagai | One who is attuned to the Lord, does not suffer in pain. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗੈ ॥ har sang raataa anadin jaagai | One who is attuned to the Lord, remains awake and aware, night and day. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਸਹਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਸੈ ॥ har sang raataa sehaj ghar vasai | One who is attuned to the Lord, dwells in the home of intuitive peace. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਨਸੈ ॥੩॥ har sang raate bhram bhau nasai |3| One who is attuned to the Lord, sees his doubts and fears run away. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਮਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਹੋਇ ॥ har sang raate mat aootam hoe | One who is attuned to the Lord, has the most sublime and exalted intellect. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੋਇ ॥ har sang raate niramal soe | One who is attuned to the Lord, has a pure and spotless reputation. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥ kahu naanak tin kau bal jaaee | Says Nanak, I am a sacrifice to those, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੪॥੧੦੯॥ jin kau prabh meraa bisarat naahee |4|109| Who do not forget my God. ||4||109|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਮਾਰਗਿ ਚਲਤ ਸਗਲ ਦੁਖ ਗਏ ॥ maarag chalat sagal dukh ge | Walking on the Lord’s Way, all pains are taken away. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਮਨਿ ਭਏ ਅਨੰਦ ॥ naam japat man bhe anand | Chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the mind becomes blissful. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਰਸਿ ਗਾਏ ਗੁਨ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦ ॥੧॥ ras gaae gun paramaanand |1| Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, supreme bliss is obtained. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਖੇਮ ਭਇਆ ਕੁਸਲ ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ॥ khem bheaa kusal ghar aae | There is joy all around, and peace has come to my home. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਪੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਦਰਸ ॥ netr puneet pekhat hee daras | My eyes are purified, beholding the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਧਨਿ ਮਸਤਕ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਹੀ ਪਰਸ ॥ dhan masatak charan kamal hee paras | Blessed is the forehead which touches His Lotus Feet. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕੀ ਟਹਲ ਸਫਲ ਇਹ ਕਾਂਇਆ ॥ gobind kee ttehal safal ih kaaneaa | Working for the Lord of the Universe, the body becomes fruitful. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
