ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥ kal kales gur sabad nivaare | The Word of the Guru’s Shabad quiets worries and troubles. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣ ਰਹੇ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ aavan jaan rahe sukh saare |1| Coming and going ceases, and all comforts are obtained. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਭੈ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ bhai binase nirbhau har dhiaaeaa | Fear is dispelled, meditating on the Fearless Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ saadhasang har ke gun gaaeaa |1| rahaau | In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਚਰਨ ਕਵਲ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥ charan kaval rid antar dhaare | I have enshrined the Lotus Feet of the Lord within my heart. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਗਨਿ ਸਾਗਰ ਗੁਰਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰੇ ॥੨॥ agan saagar gur paar utaare |2| The Guru has carried me across the ocean of fire. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬੂਡਤ ਜਾਤ ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਾਢੇ ॥ booddat jaat poorai gur kaadte | I was sinking down, and the Perfect Guru pulled me out. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਟੂਟੇ ਗਾਢੇ ॥੩॥ janam janam ke ttootte gaadte |3| I was cut off from the Lord for countless incarnations, and now the Guru united me with Him again. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥ kahu naanak tis gur balihaaree | Says Nanak, I am a sacrifice to the Guru; - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਸੁ ਭੇਟਤ ਗਤਿ ਭਈ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੫੬॥੧੨੫॥ jis bhettat gat bhee hamaaree |4|56|125| meeting Him, I have been saved. ||4||56||125|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਪੀਵਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥ amrit naam peevahu mere bhaaee | Drink in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Name, O my Siblings of Destiny. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਭ ਤਪਤਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ simar simar sabh tapat bujhaaee |1| rahaau | Meditating, meditating in remembrance on the Lord, the fire of desire is totally quenched. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣੁ ਨਿਵਾਰਹੁ ॥ taj abhimaan janam maran nivaarahu | Renounce your arrogant pride, and end the cycle of birth and death. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਦਾਸ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਹੁ ॥੨॥ har ke daas ke charan namasakaarahu |2| Bow in humility to the feet of the Lord’s slave. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਨਹਿ ਸਮਾਲੇ ॥ saas saas prabh maneh samaale | Remember God in your mind, with each and every breath. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੋ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਚਹੁ ਜੋ ਚਾਲੈ ਨਾਲੇ ॥੩॥ so dhan sanchahu jo chaalai naale |3| Gather only that wealth, which shall go with you. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੁ ॥ tiseh paraapat jis masatak bhaag | He alone obtains it, upon whose forehead such destiny is written. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੁ ॥੪॥੫੭॥੧੨੬॥ kahu naanak taa kee charanee laag |4|57|126| Says Nanak, fall at the Feet of that Lord. ||4||57||126|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸੰਚਿ ਜੀਵਾਏ ॥੧॥ amrit drisatt sanch jeevaae |1| His Ambrosial Glance irrigates and revives them. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਾਟੇ ਕਸਟ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥ kaatte kasatt poore guradev | The Perfect Divine Guru has removed my sorrow. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਦੀਨੀ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਸੇਵ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ sevak kau deenee apunee sev |1| rahaau | He blesses His servant with His service. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਿਟਿ ਗਈ ਚਿੰਤ ਪੁਨੀ ਮਨ ਆਸਾ ॥ mitt gee chint punee man aasaa | Anxiety is removed, and the desires of the mind are fulfilled, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰੀ ਦਇਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਗੁਣਤਾਸਾ ॥੨॥ karee deaa satigur gunataasaa |2| when the True Guru, the Treasure of Excellence, shows His Kindness. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦੁਖ ਨਾਠੇ ਸੁਖ ਆਇ ਸਮਾਏ ॥ dukh naatthe sukh aae samaae | Pain is driven far away, and peace comes in its place; - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਢੀਲ ਨ ਪਰੀ ਜਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਫੁਰਮਾਏ ॥੩॥ dteel na paree jaa gur furamaae |3| there is no delay, when the Guru gives the Order. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਇਛ ਪੁਨੀ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲੇ ॥ eichh punee poore gur mile | Desires are fulfilled, when one meets the True Guru; - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਸੁਫਲ ਫਲੇ ॥੪॥੫੮॥੧੨੭॥ naanak te jan sufal fale |4|58|127| O Nanak, His humble servant is fruitful and prosperous. ||4||58||127|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਤਾਪ ਗਏ ਪਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ॥ taap ge paaee prabh saant | The fever has departed; God has showered us with peace and tranquility. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੀਤਲ ਭਏ ਕੀਨੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਾਤਿ ॥੧॥ seetal bhe keenee prabh daat |1| A cooling peace prevails; God has granted this gift. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਭਏ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ॥ prabh kirapaa te bhe suhele | By God’s Grace, we have become comfortable. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਬਿਛੁਰੇ ਮੇਲੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ janam janam ke bichhure mele |1| rahaau | Separated from Him for countless incarnations, we are now reunited with Him. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥ simarat simarat prabh kaa naau | Meditating, meditating in remembrance on God’s Name, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਗਲ ਰੋਗ ਕਾ ਬਿਨਸਿਆ ਥਾਉ ॥੨॥ sagal rog kaa binasiaa thaau |2| the dwelling of all disease is destroyed. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਬੋਲੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ sehaj subhaae bolai har baanee | In intuitive peace and poise, chant the Word of the Lord’s Bani. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ॥੩॥ aatth pehar prabh simarahu praanee |3| Twenty-four hours a day, O mortal, meditate on God. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਜਮੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥ dookh darad jam nerr na aavai | Pain, suffering and the Messenger of Death do not even approach that one, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੪॥੫੯॥੧੨੮॥ kahu naanak jo har gun gaavai |4|59|128| says Nanak, who sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||4||59||128|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਜਿਤੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨਿਰਜੋਗ ॥੧॥ jit bhette paarabraham nirajog |1| which brought me to the Supreme Lord God, the Unjoined, Unlimited One. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਓਹ ਬੇਲਾ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥ oeh belaa kau hau bal jaau | I am a sacrifice to that time, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸਫਲ ਮੂਰਤੁ ਸਫਲ ਓਹ ਘਰੀ ॥ safal moorat safal oeh gharee | Blessed is that moment, and blessed is that time, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਤੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਉਚਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੀ ॥੨॥ jit rasanaa ucharai har haree |2| when my tongue chants the Name of the Lord, Har, Haree. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਫਲੁ ਓਹੁ ਮਾਥਾ ਸੰਤ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਸਿ ॥ safal ohu maathaa sant namasakaaras | Blessed is that forehead, which bows in humility to the Saints. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਚਰਣ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਚਲਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਰਗਿ ॥੩॥ charan puneet chaleh har maarag |3| Sacred are those feet, which walk on the Lord’s Path. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਲਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਰਮ ॥ kahu naanak bhalaa meraa karam | Says Nanak, auspicious is my karma, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
