ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਤੇ ਛੋਟ ॥੧॥ sant prasaad janam maran te chhott |1| By the Grace of the Saints, one is released from birth and death. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦਰਸੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥ sant kaa daras pooran isanaan | The Blessed Vision of the Saints is the perfect cleansing bath. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਜਪੀਐ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ sant kripaa te japeeai naam |1| rahaau | By the Grace of the Saints, one comes to chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ॥ sant kai sang mittiaa ahankaar | In the Society of the Saints, egotism is shed, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਆਵੈ ਸਭੁ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ॥੨॥ drisatt aavai sabh ekankaar |2| and the One Lord is seen everywhere. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਆਏ ਵਸਿ ਪੰਚਾ ॥ sant suprasan aae vas panchaa | By the pleasure of the Saints, the five passions are overpowered, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਲੈ ਸੰਚਾ ॥੩॥ amrit naam ridai lai sanchaa |3| and the heart is irrigated with the Ambrosial Naam. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਮ ॥ kahu naanak jaa kaa pooraa karam | Says Nanak, one whose karma is perfect, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਿਸੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ॥੪॥੪੬॥੧੧੫॥ tis bhette saadhoo ke charan |4|46|115| touches the feet of the Holy. ||4||46||115|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਜਪਤ ਕਮਲੁ ਪਰਗਾਸੈ ॥ har gun japat kamal paragaasai | Meditating on the Glories of the Lord, the heart-lotus blossoms radiantly. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਸਭ ਨਾਸੈ ॥੧॥ har simarat traas sabh naasai |1| Remembering the Lord in meditation, all fears are dispelled. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾ ਮਤਿ ਪੂਰੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥ saa mat pooree jit har gun gaavai | Perfect is that intellect, by which the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ vaddai bhaag saadhoo sang paavai |1| rahaau | By great good fortune, one finds the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥ saadhasang paaeeai nidh naamaa | In the Saadh Sangat, the treasure of the Name is obtained. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਭਿ ਕਾਮਾ ॥੨॥ saadhasang pooran sabh kaamaa |2| In the Saadh Sangat, all one’s works are brought to fruition. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥ har kee bhagat janam paravaan | Through devotion to the Lord, one’s life is approved. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੁ ॥੩॥ gur kirapaa te naam vakhaan |3| By Guru’s Grace, one chants the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥ kahu naanak so jan paravaan | Says Nanak, that humble being is accepted, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਵਿਸਰੀ ਤਿਸੈ ਪਰਾਈ ਤਾਤਾ ॥੧॥ visaree tisai paraaee taataa |1| forget to feel jealous of others. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ਕੋਈ ॥ bin gobind na deesai koee | They see none other than the Lord of the Universe. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਕਰਤਾ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ karan karaavan karataa soee |1| rahaau | The Creator is the Doer, the Cause of causes. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਨਹਿ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲੈ ॥ maneh kamaavai mukh har har bolai | Those who work willingly, and chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਇਤ ਉਤ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਡੋਲੈ ॥੨॥ so jan it ut kateh na ddolai |2|
- they do not waver, here or hereafter. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਸੋ ਸਚ ਸਾਹੁ ॥ jaa kai har dhan so sach saahu | Those who possess the wealth of the Lord are the true bankers. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੋ ਵਿਸਾਹੁ ॥੩॥ gur poorai kar deeno visaahu |3| The Perfect Guru has established their line of credit. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੀਵਨ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥ jeevan purakh miliaa har raaeaa | The Giver of life, the Sovereign Lord King meets them. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੪੮॥੧੧੭॥ kahu naanak param pad paaeaa |4|48|117| Says Nanak, they attain the supreme status. ||4||48||117|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਨਾਮੋ ਧਨੁ ਨਾਮੋ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ naamo dhan naamo biauhaar |1| The Naam is their wealth, the Naam is their occupation. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਮ ਵਡਾਈ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਏ ॥ naam vaddaaee jan sobhaa paae | By the greatness of the Naam, His humble servants are blessed with glory. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਦਿਵਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ kar kirapaa jis aap divaae |1| rahaau | The Lord Himself bestows it, in His Mercy. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਮੁ ਭਗਤ ਕੈ ਸੁਖ ਅਸਥਾਨੁ ॥ naam bhagat kai sukh asathaan | The Naam is the home of peace of His devotees. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਮ ਰਤੁ ਸੋ ਭਗਤੁ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥੨॥ naam rat so bhagat paravaan |2| Attuned to the Naam, His devotees are approved. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਧਾਰੈ ॥ har kaa naam jan kau dhaarai | The Name of the Lord is the support of His humble servants. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਜਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਰੈ ॥੩॥ saas saas jan naam samaarai |3| With each and every breath, they remember the Naam. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭਾਗੁ ॥ kahu naanak jis pooraa bhaag | Says Nanak, those who have perfect destiny - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗੁ ॥੪॥੪੯॥੧੧੮॥ naam sang taa kaa man laag |4|49|118|

ਤਬ ਤੇ ਧਾਵਤੁ ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ tab te dhaavat man tripataaeaa |1| Since then, my restless mind has been satisfied. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੁਖ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥ sukh bisraam paaeaa gun gaae | I have obtained the home of peace, singing His Glorious Praises. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸ੍ਰਮੁ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਹਤੀ ਬਲਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ sram mittiaa meree hatee balaae |1| rahaau | My troubles have ended, and the demon has been destroyed. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਅਰਾਧਿ ਭਗਵੰਤਾ ॥ charan kamal araadh bhagavantaa | Worship and adore the Lotus Feet of the Lord God. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੇ ਮਿਟੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ॥੨॥ har simaran te mittee meree chintaa |2| Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, my anxiety has come to an end. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਭ ਤਜਿ ਅਨਾਥੁ ਏਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਆਇਓ ॥ sabh taj anaath ek saran aaeo | I have renounced all - I am an orphan. I have come to the Sanctuary of the One Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਊਚ ਅਸਥਾਨੁ ਤਬ ਸਹਜੇ ਪਾਇਓ ॥੩॥ aooch asathaan tab sahaje paaeo |3| Since then, I have found the highest celestial home. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਨਸਿਆ ॥ dookh darad bharam bhau nasiaa | My pains, troubles, doubts and fears are gone. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
