ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥ har har naam jan praan adhaar | The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is the Support of the breath of life of His servant. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੁਣੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥ kahu naanak meree sunee aradaas | Says Nanak, the Lord has heard my prayer; - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਵਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੨੧॥੯੦॥ sant prasaad mo kau naam nivaas |4|21|90| by the Grace of the Saints, I dwell in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||21||90|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨਿ ਅਗਨਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੀ ॥ satigur darasan agan nivaaree | By the Blessed Vision of the True Guru’s Darshan, the fire of desire is quenched. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੇਟਤ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀ ॥ satigur bhettat haumai maaree | Meeting the True Guru, egotism is subdued. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਨੁ ਡੋਲੈ ॥ satigur sang naahee man ddolai | In the Company of the True Guru, the mind does not waver. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੋਲੈ ॥੧॥ amrit baanee guramukh bolai |1| The Gurmukh speaks the Ambrosial Word of Gurbani. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਜਾ ਸਚ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਤੇ ॥ sabh jag saachaa jaa sach meh raate | He sees the True One pervading the whole world; he is imbued with the True One. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੀਤਲ ਸਾਤਿ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਾਤੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ seetal saat gur te prabh jaate |1| rahaau | I have become cool and tranquil, knowing God, through the Guru. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਜਪੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥ sant prasaad japai har naau | By the Grace of the Saints, one chants the Lord’s Name. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਉ ॥ sant prasaad har keeratan gaau | By the Grace of the Saints, one sings the Kirtan of the Lord’s Praises. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਸਗਲ ਦੁਖ ਮਿਟੇ ॥ sant prasaad sagal dukh mitte | By the Grace of the Saints, all pains are erased. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਬੰਧਨ ਤੇ ਛੁਟੇ ॥੨॥ sant prasaad bandhan te chhutte |2| By the Grace of the Saints, one is released from bondage. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਮਿਟੇ ਮੋਹ ਭਰਮ ॥ sant kripaa te mitte moh bharam | By the kind Mercy of the Saints, emotional attachment and doubt are removed. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਧ ਰੇਣ ਮਜਨ ਸਭਿ ਧਰਮ ॥ saadh ren majan sabh dharam | Taking a bath in the dust of the feet of the Holy - this is true Dharmic faith. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਧ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ॥ saadh kripaal deaal govind | By the kindness of the Holy, the Lord of the Universe becomes merciful. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਧਾ ਮਹਿ ਇਹ ਹਮਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁ ॥੩॥ saadhaa meh ih hamaree jind |3| The life of my soul is with the Holy. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥ kirapaa nidh kirapaal dhiaavau | Meditating on the Merciful Lord, the Treasure of Mercy, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਤਾ ਬੈਠਣੁ ਪਾਵਉ ॥ saadhasang taa baitthan paavau | I have obtained a seat in the Saadh Sangat. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਦਇਆ ॥ mohi niragun kau prabh keenee deaa | I am worthless, but God has been kind to me. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਇਆ ॥੪॥੨੨॥੯੧॥ saadhasang naanak naam leaa |4|22|91| In the Saadh Sangat, Nanak has taken to the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||22||91|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੰਤੁ ॥ keval naam deeo gur mant | The Guru has given me the Mantra of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਭਏ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ॥ taj abhimaan bhe niravair | Shedding my ego, I have become free of hate. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪੂਜਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਪੈਰ ॥੧॥ aatth pehar poojahu gur pair |1| Twenty-four hours a day, I worship the Guru’s Feet. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਬ ਮਤਿ ਬਿਨਸੀ ਦੁਸਟ ਬਿਗਾਨੀ ॥ ab mat binasee dusatt bigaanee | Now, my evil sense of alienation is eliminated, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਬ ਤੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਕਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jab te suniaa har jas kaanee |1| rahaau | since I have heard the Praises of the Lord with my ears. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਹਜ ਸੂਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥ sehaj sookh aanand nidhaan | The Savior Lord is the treasure of intuitive peace, poise and bliss. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਇ ਨਿਦਾਨ ॥ raakhanahaar rakh lee nidaan | He shall save me in the end. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਭੈ ਭਰਮ ॥ dookh darad binase bhai bharam | My pains, sufferings, fears and doubts have been erased. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣ ਰਖੇ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਮ ॥੨॥ aavan jaan rakhe kar karam |2| He has mercifully saved me from coming and going in reincarnation. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪੇਖੈ ਬੋਲੈ ਸੁਣੈ ਸਭੁ ਆਪਿ ॥ pekhai bolai sunai sabh aap | He Himself beholds, speaks and hears all. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਮਨ ਜਾਪਿ ॥ sadaa sang taa kau man jaap | O my mind, meditate on the One who is always with you. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਭਇਓ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ॥ sant prasaad bheo paragaas | By the Grace of the Saints, the Light has dawned. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਏਕੈ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ ॥੩॥ poor rahe ekai gunataas |3| The One Lord, the Treasure of Excellence, is perfectly pervading everywhere. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹਤ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਸੁਣਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ॥ kehat pavitr sunat puneet | Pure are those who speak, and sanctified are those who hear and sing, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਣ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਨਿਤ ਨੀਤ ॥ gun govind gaaveh nit neet | Forever and ever, the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਹੋਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥ kahu naanak jaa kau hohu kripaal | Says Nanak, when the Lord bestows His Mercy, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਪੂਰਨ ਘਾਲ ॥੪॥੨੩॥੯੨॥ tis jan kee sabh pooran ghaal |4|23|92| all one’s efforts are fulfilled. ||4||23||92|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਾਚੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥ man meh laagai saach dhiaan | With the mind centered in meditation on the True Lord, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਿਟਹਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਸੁਖੀ ਹੋਇ ਰਹੀਐ ॥ mitteh kales sukhee hoe raheeai | Anguish is eradicated, and one comes to dwell in peace. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਐਸਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਕਹੀਐ ॥੧॥ aisaa daataa satigur kaheeai |1| Such is the True Guru, the Great Giver. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੋ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਜਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਵੈ ॥ so sukhadaataa ji naam japaavai | He alone is the Giver of peace, who inspires us to chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ kar kirapaa tis sang milaavai |1| rahaau | By His Grace, He leads us to merge with Him. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ॥ jis hoe deaal tis aap milaavai | He unites with Himself those unto whom He has shown His Mercy. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ sarab nidhaan guroo te paavai | All treasures are received from the Guru. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਮਿਟੈ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ॥ aap tiaag mittai aavan jaanaa | Renouncing selfishness and conceit, coming and going come to an end. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਛਾਣਾ ॥੨॥ saadh kai sang paarabraham pachhaanaa |2| In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the Supreme Lord God is recognized. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
