ਸਰਬ ਜੀਆ ਕਉ ਦੇਵਣਹਾਰਾ ॥ sarab jeea kau devanahaaraa | He is the Giver of all souls. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਰਾ ॥ gur parasaadee nadar nihaaraa | By Guru’s Grace, He blesses us with His Glance of Grace. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਲ ਥਲ ਮਹੀਅਲ ਸਭਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਣੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਚਰਨ ਪਖਾਲੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥ jal thal maheeal sabh tripataane saadhoo charan pakhaalee jeeo |3| The beings in the water, on the land and in the sky are all satisfied; I wash the Feet of the Holy. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਨ ਕੀ ਇਛ ਪੁਜਾਵਣਹਾਰਾ ॥ man kee ichh pujaavanahaaraa | He is the Fulfiller of the desires of the mind. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਾ ॥ sadaa sadaa jaaee balihaaraa | Forever and ever, I am a sacrifice to Him. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਨੁ ਕੀਆ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨਿ ਰਤੇ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਸਾਲੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੨॥੩੯॥ naanak daan keea dukh bhanjan rate rang rasaalee jeeo |4|32|39| O Nanak, the Destroyer of pain has given this Gift; I am imbued with the Love of the Delightful Lord. ||4||32||39|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਧਨੁ ਭੀ ਤੇਰਾ ॥ man tan teraa dhan bhee teraa | Mind and body are Yours; all wealth is Yours. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤੂੰ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥ toon tthaakur suaamee prabh meraa | You are my God, my Lord and Master. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਰਾਸਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੋਰੁ ਗੋਪਾਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ jeeo pindd sabh raas tumaaree teraa jor gopaalaa jeeo |1| Body and soul and all riches are Yours. Yours is the Power, O Lord of the World. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥ sadaa sadaa toonhai sukhadaaee | Forever and ever, You are the Giver of Peace. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਿਵਿ ਨਿਵਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਾਈ ॥ niv niv laagaa teree paaee | I bow down and fall at Your Feet. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਾ ਜੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵਾ ਜਾ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਹਿ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ kaar kamaavaa je tudh bhaavaa jaa toon dehi deaalaa jeeo |2| I act as it pleases You, as You cause me to act, Kind and Compassionate Dear Lord. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮ ਤੇ ਲਹਣਾ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਗਹਣਾ ॥ prabh tum te lahanaa toon meraa gahanaa | O God, from You I receive; You are my decoration. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਹਣਾ ॥ jo toon dehi soee sukh sahanaa | Whatever You give me, brings me happiness. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਥੈ ਰਖਹਿ ਬੈਕੁੰਠੁ ਤਿਥਾਈ ਤੂੰ ਸਭਨਾ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥ jithai rakheh baikuntth tithaaee toon sabhanaa ke pratipaalaa jeeo |3| Wherever You keep me, is heaven. You are the Cherisher of all. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ simar simar naanak sukh paaeaa | Meditating, meditating in remembrance, Nanak has found peace. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ॥ aatth pehar tere gun gaaeaa | Twenty-four hours a day, I sing Your Glorious Praises. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਏ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਦੁਖਾਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੩॥੪੦॥ sagal manorath pooran hoe kade na hoe dukhaalaa jeeo |4|33|40| All my hopes and desires are fulfilled; I shall never again suffer sorrow. ||4||33||40|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਮੇਘੁ ਪਠਾਇਆ ॥ paarabraham prabh megh patthaaeaa | The Supreme Lord God has unleashed the rain clouds. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਵਰਸਾਇਆ ॥ jal thal maheeal deh dis varasaaeaa | Over the sea and over the land-over all the earth’s surface, in all directions, He has brought the rain. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਂਤਿ ਭਈ ਬੁਝੀ ਸਭ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਸਭ ਠਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ saant bhee bujhee sabh trisanaa anad bheaa sabh tthaaee jeeo |1| Peace has come, and the thirst of all has been quenched; there is joy and ecstasy everywhere. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨਹਾਰਾ ॥ sukhadaataa dukh bhanjanahaaraa | He is the Giver of Peace, the Destroyer of pain. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਕਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਸਾਰਾ ॥ aape bakhas kare jeea saaraa | He gives and forgives all beings. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਪਨੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਨੋ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੇ ਪਇ ਪੈਰੀ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਮਨਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ apane keete no aap pratipaale pe pairee tiseh manaaee jeeo |2| He Himself nurtures and cherishes His Creation. I fall at His Feet and surrender to Him. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਇਆ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ jaa kee saran peaa gat paaeeai | Seeking His Sanctuary, salvation is obtained. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥ saas saas har naam dhiaaeeai | With each and every breath, I meditate on the Lord’s Name. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਹੋਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਭ ਤਿਸੈ ਕੀਆ ਜਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥ tis bin hor na doojaa tthaakur sabh tisai keea jaaee jeeo |3| Without Him, there is no other Lord and Master. All places belong to Him. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤੇਰਾ ਮਾਣੁ ਤਾਣੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰਾ ॥ teraa maan taan prabh teraa | Yours is the Honor, God, and Yours is the Power. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤੂੰ ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੇਰਾ ॥ toon sachaa saahib gunee gaheraa | You are the True Lord and Master, the Ocean of Excellence. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਕਹੈ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਤੁਧੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੪॥੪੧॥ naanak daas kahai benantee aatth pehar tudh dhiaaee jeeo |4|34|41| Servant Nanak utters this prayer: may I meditate on You twenty-four hours a day. ||4||34||41|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸਭੇ ਸੁਖ ਭਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਠੇ ॥ sabhe sukh bhe prabh tutthe | All happiness comes, when God is pleased. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਮਨਿ ਵੁਠੇ ॥ gur poore ke charan man vutthe | The Feet of the Perfect Guru dwell in my mind. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਹਜ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਗੀ ਲਿਵ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸੋ ਰਸੁ ਸੋਈ ਜਾਣੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ sehaj samaadh lagee liv antar so ras soee jaanai jeeo |1| I am intuitively absorbed in the state of Samaadhi deep within. God alone knows this sweet pleasure. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥ agam agochar saahib meraa | My Lord and Master is Inaccessible and Unfathomable. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਨੇਰਾ ॥ ghatt ghatt antar varatai neraa | Deep within each and every heart, He dwells near and close at hand. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਦਾ ਅਲਿਪਤੁ ਜੀਆ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ sadaa alipat jeea kaa daataa ko viralaa aap pachhaanai jeeo |2| He is always detached; He is the Giver of souls. How rare is that person who understands his own self. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਣੈ ਕੀ ਏਹ ਨੀਸਾਣੀ ॥ prabh milanai kee eeh neesaanee | This is the sign of union with God: - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਨਿ ਇਕੋ ਸਚਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੀ ॥ man iko sachaa hukam pachhaanee | in the mind, the Command of the True Lord is recognized. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਹਜਿ ਸੰਤੋਖਿ ਸਦਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੇ ਅਨਦੁ ਖਸਮ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥ sehaj santokh sadaa tripataase anad khasam kai bhaanai jeeo |3| Intuitive peace and poise, contentment, enduring satisfaction and bliss come through the Pleasure of the Master’s Will. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਥੀ ਦਿਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਦੇਵਣਹਾਰੈ ॥ hathee ditee prabh devanahaarai | God, the Great Giver, has given me His Hand. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਰੋਗ ਸਭਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥ janam maran rog sabh nivaare | He has erased all the sickness of birth and death. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਕੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨਿ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੫॥੪੨॥ naanak daas kee prabh apune har keeratan rang maane jeeo |4|35|42| O Nanak, those whom God has made His slaves, rejoice in the pleasure of singing the Kirtan of the Lord’s Praises. ||4||35||42|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
