ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਾ ਨੋ ਦੇਇ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਥਿਰੁ ਘਰੀ ਬਹਾਲਿਅਨੁ ॥ har bhagataa no dee anand thir gharee bahaalian | The Lord bestows bliss upon His devotees, and gives them a seat in the eternal home. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਪਾਪੀਆ ਨੋ ਨ ਦੇਈ ਥਿਰੁ ਰਹਣਿ ਚੁਣਿ ਨਰਕ ਘੋਰਿ ਚਾਲਿਅਨੁ ॥ paapeea no na deee thir rehan chun narak ghor chaalian | He does not give the sinners any stability or place of rest; He consigns them to the depths of hell. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਾ ਨੋ ਦੇਇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਅੰਗੁ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਿਅਨੁ ॥੧੯॥ har bhagataa no dee piaar kar ang nisataarian |19| The Lord blesses His devotees with His Love; He sides with them and saves them. ||19|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਕੁਬੁਧਿ ਡੂਮਣੀ ਕੁਦਇਆ ਕਸਾਇਣਿ ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਘਟ ਚੂਹੜੀ ਮੁਠੀ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿ ਚੰਡਾਲਿ ॥ kubudh ddoomanee kudeaa kasaaein par nindaa ghatt chooharree mutthee krodh chanddaal | False-mindedness is the drummer-woman; cruelty is the butcheress; slander of others in one’s heart is the cleaning-woman, and deceitful anger is the outcast-woman. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਕਾਰੀ ਕਢੀ ਕਿਆ ਥੀਐ ਜਾਂ ਚਾਰੇ ਬੈਠੀਆ ਨਾਲਿ ॥ kaaree kadtee kiaa theeai jaan chaare baittheea naal | What good are the ceremonial lines drawn around your kitchen, when these four are seated there with you? - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਸਚੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਕਰਣੀ ਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਵਣੁ ਨਾਉ ਜਪੇਹੀ ॥ sach sanjam karanee kaaraan naavan naau japehee | Make Truth your self-discipline, and make good deeds the lines you draw; make chanting the Name your cleansing bath. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਅਗੈ ਊਤਮ ਸੇਈ ਜਿ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਪੰਦਿ ਨ ਦੇਹੀ ॥੧॥ naanak agai aootam seee ji paapaan pand na dehee |1| O Nanak, those who do not walk in the ways of sin, shall be exalted in the world hereafter. ||1|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji

ਕਿਆ ਹੰਸੁ ਕਿਆ ਬਗੁਲਾ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥ kiaa hans kiaa bagulaa jaa kau nadar karee | Which is the swan, and which is the crane? It is only by His Glance of Grace. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਕਾਗਹੁ ਹੰਸੁ ਕਰੇਇ ॥੨॥ jo tis bhaavai naanakaa kaagahu hans karee |2| Whoever is pleasing to Him, O Nanak, is transformed from a crow into a swan. ||2|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji

ਕੀਤਾ ਲੋੜੀਐ ਕੰਮੁ ਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਹਿ ਆਖੀਐ ॥ keetaa lorreeai kam su har peh aakheeai | Whatever work you wish to accomplish-tell it to the Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਕਾਰਜੁ ਦੇਇ ਸਵਾਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਖੀਐ ॥ kaaraj dee savaar satigur sach saakheeai | He will resolve your affairs; the True Guru gives His Guarantee of Truth. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸੰਤਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਚਾਖੀਐ ॥ santaa sang nidhaan amrit chaakheeai | In the Society of the Saints, you shall taste the treasure of the Ambrosial Nectar. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ਦਾਸ ਕੀ ਰਾਖੀਐ ॥ bhai bhanjan miharavaan daas kee raakheeai | The Lord is the Merciful Destroyer of fear; He preserves and protects His slaves. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਅਲਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲਾਖੀਐ ॥੨੦॥ naanak har gun gaae alakh prabh laakheeai |20| O Nanak, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and see the Unseen Lord God. ||20|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਸਭਸੈ ਦੇਇ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥ jeeo pindd sabh tis kaa sabhasai dee adhaar | Body and soul, all belong to Him. He gives His Support to all. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੇਵੀਐ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ॥ naanak guramukh seveeai sadaa sadaa daataar | O Nanak, become Gurmukh and serve Him, who is forever and ever the Giver. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਜਿਨਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ॥ hau balihaaree tin kau jin dhiaaeaa har nirankaar | I am a sacrifice to those who meditate on the Formless Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਓਨਾ ਕੇ ਮੁਖ ਸਦ ਉਜਲੇ ਓਨਾ ਨੋ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਕਰੇ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ onaa ke mukh sad ujale onaa no sabh jagat kare namasakaar |1| Their faces are forever radiant, and the whole world bows in reverence to them. ||1|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਉਲਟੀ ਭਈ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਖਰਚਿਉ ਖਾਉ ॥ satigur miliai ulattee bhee nav nidh kharachiau khaau | Meeting the True Guru, I am totally transformed; I have obtained the nine treasures to use and consume. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਅਠਾਰਹ ਸਿਧੀ ਪਿਛੈ ਲਗੀਆ ਫਿਰਨਿ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਸੈ ਨਿਜ ਥਾਇ ॥ atthaarah sidhee pichhai lageea firan nij ghar vasai nij thaae | The Siddhis-the eighteen supernatural spiritual powers-follow in my footsteps; I dwell in my own home, within my own self. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਅਨਹਦ ਧੁਨੀ ਸਦ ਵਜਦੇ ਉਨਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ anahad dhunee sad vajade unaman har liv laae | The Unstruck Melody constantly vibrates within; my mind is exalted and uplifted-I am lovingly absorbed in the Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਤਿਨਾ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਜਿਨ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥ naanak har bhagat tinaa kai man vasai jin masatak likhiaa dhur paae |2| O Nanak, devotion to the Lord abides within the minds of those who have such pre-ordained destiny written on their foreheads. ||2|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਹਉ ਢਾਢੀ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਖਸਮ ਕਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਦਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥ hau dtaadtee har prabh khasam kaa har kai dar aaeaa | I am a minstrel of the Lord God, my Lord and Master; I have come to the Lord’s Door. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸੁਣੀ ਪੂਕਾਰ ਢਾਢੀ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਇਆ ॥ har andar sunee pookaar dtaadtee mukh laaeaa | The Lord has heard my sad cries from within; He has called me, His minstrel, into His Presence. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਪੁਛਿਆ ਢਾਢੀ ਸਦਿ ਕੈ ਕਿਤੁ ਅਰਥਿ ਤੂੰ ਆਇਆ ॥ har puchhiaa dtaadtee sad kai kit arath toon aaeaa | The Lord called His minstrel in, and asked, “Why have you come here?” - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਿਤ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ nit devahu daan deaal prabh har naam dhiaaeaa | “O Merciful God, please grant me the gift of continual meditation on the Lord’s Name.” - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਦਾਤੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪੈਨਾਇਆ ॥੨੧॥੧॥ ਸੁਧੁ har daatai har naam japaaeaa naanak painaaeaa |21|1| sudh And so the Lord, the Great Giver, inspired Nanak to chant the Lord’s Name, and blessed him with robes of honor. ||21||1||Sudh|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਜਨਨੀ ਜਾਨਤ ਸੁਤੁ ਬਡਾ ਹੋਤੁ ਹੈ ਇਤਨਾ ਕੁ ਨ ਜਾਨੈ ਜਿ ਦਿਨ ਦਿਨ ਅਵਧ ਘਟਤੁ ਹੈ ॥ jananee jaanat sut baddaa hot hai itanaa ku na jaanai ji din din avadh ghattat hai | The mother thinks that her son is growing up; she does not understand that, day by day, his life is diminishing. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੋਰ ਮੋਰ ਕਰਿ ਅਧਿਕ ਲਾਡੁ ਧਰਿ ਪੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਜਮਰਾਉ ਹਸੈ ॥੧॥ mor mor kar adhik laadd dhar pekhat hee jamaraau hasai |1| Calling him, “Mine, mine”, she fondles him lovingly, while the Messenger of Death looks on and laughs. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
