ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਪੀਵਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਥਿਰੁ ਥੀਵਤੇ ਬਿਖੈ ਬਨੁ ਫੀਕਾ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥ amrit har peevate sadaa thir theevate bikhai ban feekaa jaaniaa | They drink in the Lord’s Ambrosial Nectar, and become eternally stable. They know that the water of corruption is insipid and tasteless. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਭਏ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥ bhe kirapaal gopaal prabh mere saadhasangat nidh maaniaa | When my God, the Lord of the Universe became merciful, I came to look upon the Saadh Sangat as the treasure. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਰਬਸੋ ਸੂਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਘਨ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਤਨੁ ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸੀਵਤੇ ॥ sarabaso sookh aanand ghan piaare har ratan man antar seevate | All pleasures and supreme ecstasy, O my Beloved, come to those who sew the Jewel of the Lord into their minds. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਇਕੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਆਧਾਰਾ ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀਵਤੇ ॥੩॥ eik til nahee visarai praan aadhaaraa jap jap naanak jeevate |3| They do not forget, even for an instant, the Support of the breath of life. They live by constantly meditating on Him, O Nanak. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਜੋ ਤਉ ਕੀਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਤਿਨਾ ਕੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਓਹਿ ॥ jo tau keene aapane tinaa koon miliohi | O Lord, You meet and merge with those whom you have made Your Own. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਿ ਮੋਹਿਓਹੁ ਜਸੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪਿ ਸੁਣਿਓਹਿ ॥੧॥ aape hee aap mohiohu jas naanak aap suniohi |1| You Yourself are entranced, O Nanak, hearing Your Own Praises. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਪਾਇ ਰੀਝਾਇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥ prem tthgauree paae reejhaae gobind man mohiaa jeeo | Administering the intoxicating drug of love, I have won over the Lord of the Universe; I have fascinated His Mind. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਕੰਠੇ ਲਗਿ ਸੋਹਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥ santan kai parasaad agaadh kantthe lag sohiaa jeeo | By the Grace of the Saints, I am held in the loving embrace of the Unfathomable Lord, and I am entranced. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਗਿ ਸੋਹਿਆ ਦੋਖ ਸਭਿ ਜੋਹਿਆ ਭਗਤਿ ਲਖੵਣ ਕਰਿ ਵਸਿ ਭਏ ॥ har kantth lag sohiaa dokh sabh johiaa bhagat lakhayan kar vas bhe | Held in the Lord’s loving embrace, I look beautiful, and all my pains have been dispelled. By the loving worship of His devotees, the Lord has come under their power. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਨਿ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਵੁਠੇ ਗੋਵਿਦ ਤੁਠੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣਾ ਸਭਿ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਏ ॥ man sarab sukh vutthe govid tutthe janam maranaa sabh mitt ge | All pleasures have come to dwell in the mind; the Lord of the Universe is pleased and appeased. Birth and death have been totally eliminated. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਖੀ ਮੰਗਲੋ ਗਾਇਆ ਇਛ ਪੁਜਾਇਆ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਹੋਹਿਆ ॥ sakhee mangalo gaaeaa ichh pujaaeaa bahurr na maaeaa hohiaa | O my companions, sing the Songs of Joy. My desires have been fulfilled, and I shall never again be trapped or shaken by Maya. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਪੋਹਿਆ ॥੪॥ kar geh leene naanak prabh piaare sansaar saagar nahee pohiaa |4| Taking hold of my hand, O Nanak, my Beloved God will not let me be swallowed up by the world-ocean. ||4|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸਾਈ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਮੋਲੁ ਕੀਮ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਣਦੋ ॥ saaee naam amol keem na koee jaanado | The Master’s Name is Priceless; no one knows its value. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਨਾ ਭਾਗ ਮਥਾਹਿ ਸੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣਦੋ ॥੧॥ jinaa bhaag mathaeh se naanak har rang maanado |1| Those who have good destiny recorded upon their foreheads, O Nanak, enjoy the Love of the Lord. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਕਹਤੇ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਸੁਣਤੇ ਸਭਿ ਧੰਨੁ ਲਿਖਤਂੀ ਕੁਲੁ ਤਾਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥ kahate pavitr sunate sabh dhan likhatanee kul taariaa jeeo | Those who chant are sanctified. All those who listen are blessed, and those who write save their ancestors. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਤਿਨੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥ jin kau saadhoo sang naam har rang tinee braham beechaariaa jeeo | Those who join the Saadh Sangat are imbued with the Lord’s Love; they reflect and meditate on God. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਆ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਰੀ ॥ braham beechaariaa janam savaariaa pooran kirapaa prabh karee | Contemplating God, their lives are reformed and redeemed; God has showered His Perfect Mercy upon them. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੋ ਦੀਨੇ ਜੋਨਿ ਨਾ ਧਾਵੈ ਨਹ ਮਰੀ ॥ kar geh leene har jaso deene jon naa dhaavai neh maree | Taking them by the hand, the Lord has blessed them with His Praises. They no longer have to wander in reincarnation, and they never have to die. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦਇਆਲ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਭੇਟਤ ਹਰੇ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮਾਰਿਆ ॥ satigur deaal kirapaal bhettat hare kaam krodh lobh maariaa | Through the Kind and Compassionate True Guru, I have met the Lord; I have conquered sexual desire, anger and greed. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਥਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਅਕਥੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਦਕੈ ਜਾਇ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਾਰਿਆ ॥੫॥੧॥੩॥ kathan na jaae akath suaamee sadakai jaae naanak vaariaa |5|1|3| Our Indescribable Lord and Master cannot be described. Nanak is devoted, forever a sacrifice to Him. ||5||1||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਤਮੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਿਰਿਆ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਇ ਜੀਉ ॥ har har utam naam hai jin siriaa sabh koe jeeo | The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is Excellent and Sublime. He created everyone. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਅ ਸਭੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਦਾ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਮਈਆ ਸੋਇ ॥ har jeea sabhe pratipaaladaa ghatt ghatt rameea soe | The Lord cherishes all beings. He permeates each and every heart. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥ so har sadaa dhiaaeeai tis bin avar na koe | Meditate forever on that Lord. Without Him, there is no other at all. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੋ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਦੇ ਸੇ ਛੋਡਿ ਚਲੇ ਦੁਖੁ ਰੋਇ ॥ jo mohi maaeaa chit laaeide se chhodd chale dukh roe | Those who focus their consciousness on emotional attachment to Maya must leave; they depart crying out in despair. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਸਖਾਈ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ jan naanak naam dhiaaeaa har ant sakhaaee hoe |1| Servant Nanak meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, his only Companion in the end. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥ mai har bin avar na koe | I have none other than You, O Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਣਜਾਰਿਆ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਵਡਭਾਗਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ har gur saranaaee paaeeai vanajaariaa mitraa vaddabhaag paraapat hoe |1| rahaau | In the Guru’s Sanctuary, the Lord is found, O my merchant friend; by great good fortune, He is obtained. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
