ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਭੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਗਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥ mil satigur sabh dukh geaa har sukh vasiaa man aae | Meeting the True Guru, all my sufferings have ended, and the Peace of the Lord has come to dwell within my mind. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੀਆ ਏਕਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ antar jot pragaaseea ekas siau liv laae | The Divine Light illuminates my inner being, and I am lovingly absorbed in the One. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਮੁਖੁ ਊਜਲਾ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਪਾਇ ॥ mil saadhoo mukh aoojalaa poorab likhiaa paae | Meeting with the Holy Saint, my face is radiant; I have realized my pre-ordained destiny. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਣ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਨਿਤ ਗਾਵਣੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਇ ॥੧॥ gun govind nit gaavane niramal saachai naae |1| I constantly sing the Glories of the Lord of the Universe. Through the True Name, I have become spotlessly pure. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥ mere man gurasabadee sukh hoe | O my mind, you shall find peace through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਇ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ gur poore kee chaakaree birathaa jaae na koe |1| rahaau | Working for the Perfect Guru, no one goes away empty-handed. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਨ ਕੀਆ ਇਛਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥ man keea ichhaan pooreea paaeaa naam nidhaan | The desires of the mind are fulfilled, when the Treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is obtained. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੁ ਪਛਾਨੁ ॥ antarajaamee sadaa sang karanaihaar pachhaan | The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, is always with you; recognize Him as the Creator. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਮੁਖੁ ਊਜਲਾ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥ gur parasaadee mukh aoojalaa jap naam daan isanaan | By Guru’s Grace, your face shall be radiant. Chanting the Naam, you shall receive the benefits of giving charity and taking cleansing baths. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਬਿਨਸਿਆ ਤਜਿਆ ਸਭੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥੨॥ kaam krodh lobh binasiaa tajiaa sabh abhimaan |2| Sexual desire, anger and greed are eliminated, and all egotistical pride is abandoned. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪਾਇਆ ਲਾਹਾ ਲਾਭੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਏ ਕਾਮ ॥ paaeaa laahaa laabh naam pooran hoe kaam | The Profit of the Naam is obtained, and all affairs are brought to fruition. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਮੇਲਿਆ ਦੀਆ ਅਪਣਾ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ kar kirapaa prabh meliaa deea apanaa naam | In His Mercy, God unites us with Himself, and He blesses us with the Naam. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਰਹਿ ਗਇਆ ਆਪਿ ਹੋਆ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨੁ ॥ aavan jaanaa reh geaa aap hoaa miharavaan | My comings and goings in reincarnation have come to an end; He Himself has bestowed His Mercy. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਚੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਘਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਪਛਾਨੁ ॥੩॥ sach mehal ghar paaeaa gur kaa sabad pachhaan |3| I have obtained my home in the True Mansion of His Presence, realizing the Word of the Guru’s Shabad. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਉ ਰਾਖਦਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥ bhagat janaa kau raakhadaa aapanee kirapaa dhaar | His humble devotees are protected and saved; He Himself showers His Blessings upon us. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲੇ ਸਾਚੇ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰਿ ॥ halat palat mukh aoojale saache ke gun saar | In this world and in the world hereafter, radiant are the faces of those who cherish and enshrine the Glories of the True Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰਦੇ ਰਤੇ ਰੰਗਿ ਅਪਾਰ ॥ aatth pehar gun saarade rate rang apaar | Twenty-four hours a day, they lovingly dwell upon His Glories; they are imbued with His Infinite Love. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰੋ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੮੧॥ paarabraham sukh saagaro naanak sad balihaar |4|11|81| Nanak is forever a sacrifice to the Supreme Lord God, the Ocean of Peace. ||4||11||81|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਪੀਐ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ kar kirapaa prabh aapanee japeeai amrit naam | Please grant Your Grace, God, that we may meditate on Your Ambrosial Naam. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਾਟੀਐ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥੧॥ janam maran dukh kaatteeai laagai sehaj dhiaan |1| The pains of birth and death are taken away; we are intuitively centered on His Meditation. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਪਾਇ ॥ mere man prabh saranaaee paae | O my mind, seek the Sanctuary of God. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ har bin doojaa ko nahee eko naam dhiaae |1| rahaau | Without the Lord, there is no other at all. Meditate on the One and only Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈਐ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਗੁਣੀ ਅਥਾਹੁ ॥ keemat kehan na jaaeeai saagar gunee athaahu | His Value cannot be estimated; He is the Vast Ocean of Excellence. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮਿਲੁ ਸੰਗਤੀ ਸਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਿਸਾਹੁ ॥ vaddabhaagee mil sangatee sachaa sabad visaahu | O most fortunate ones, join the Sangat, the Blessed Congregation; purchase the True Word of the Shabad. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰੈ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਾਹਾ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁ ॥੨॥ kar sevaa sukh saagarai sir saahaa paatisaahu |2| Serve the Lord, the Ocean of Peace, the Supreme Lord over kings and emperors. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਕਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਠਾਉ ॥ charan kamal kaa aasaraa doojaa naahee tthaau | I take the Support of the Lord’s Lotus Feet; there is no other place of rest for me. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੈ ਧਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਤੇਰੈ ਤਾਣਿ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ mai dhar teree paarabraham terai taan rahaau | I lean upon You as my Support, O Supreme Lord God. I exist only by Your Power. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਿਮਾਣਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਾਣੁ ਤੂੰ ਤੇਰੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਮਾਉ ॥੩॥ nimaaniaa prabh maan toon terai sang samaau |3| O God, You are the Honor of the dishonored. I seek to merge with You. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਆਰਾਧੀਐ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ॥ har japeeai aaraadheeai aatth pehar govind | Chant the Lord’s Name and contemplate the Lord of the World, twenty-four hours a day. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਰਖੇ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਰਾਖੀ ਜਿੰਦੁ ॥ jeea praan tan dhan rakhe kar kirapaa raakhee jind | He preserves our soul, our breath of life, body and wealth. By His Grace, He protects our soul. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੋਖ ਉਤਾਰਿਅਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬਖਸਿੰਦੁ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੮੨॥ naanak sagale dokh utaarian prabh paarabraham bakhasind |4|12|82| O Nanak, all pain has been washed away, by the Supreme Lord God, the Forgiver. ||4||12||82|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਨਾ ਵੇਛੋੜਿਆ ਵਿਛੁੜੈ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥ naa vechhorriaa vichhurrai sabh meh rahiaa samaae | In separation, He is not separated from us; He is pervading and permeating amongst all. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦੀਨ ਦਰਦ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੈ ਸਤ ਭਾਇ ॥ deen darad dukh bhanjanaa sevak kai sat bhaae | He is the Destroyer of the pain and suffering of the meek. He bears True Love for His servants. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਚਰਜ ਰੂਪੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੋ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੇਲਾਇਆ ਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ acharaj roop niranjano gur melaaeaa maae |1| Wondrous is the Form of the Immaculate One. Through the Guru, I have met Him, O my mother! ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
