ਸਰਮ ਖੰਡ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਰੂਪੁ ॥ saram khandd kee baanee roop | In the realm of humility, the Word is Beauty. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਤਿਥੈ ਘਾੜਤਿ ਘੜੀਐ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਅਨੂਪੁ ॥ tithai ghaarrat gharreeai bahut anoop | Forms of incomparable beauty are fashioned there. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਤਾ ਕੀਆ ਗਲਾ ਕਥੀਆ ਨਾ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ taa keea galaa katheea naa jaeh | These things cannot be described. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਜੇ ਕੋ ਕਹੈ ਪਿਛੈ ਪਛੁਤਾਇ ॥ je ko kahai pichhai pachhutaae | One who tries to speak of these shall regret the attempt. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਤਿਥੈ ਘੜੀਐ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਮਤਿ ਮਨਿ ਬੁਧਿ ॥ tithai gharreeai surat mat man budh | The intuitive consciousness, intellect and understanding of the mind are shaped there. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਤਿਥੈ ਘੜੀਐ ਸੁਰਾ ਸਿਧਾ ਕੀ ਸੁਧਿ ॥੩੬॥ tithai gharreeai suraa sidhaa kee sudh |36| The consciousness of the spiritual warriors and the Siddhas, the beings of spiritual perfection, are shaped there. ||36|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਕਰਮ ਖੰਡ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਜੋਰੁ ॥ karam khandd kee baanee jor | In the realm of karma, the Word is Power. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਤਿਥੈ ਹੋਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰੁ ॥ tithai hor na koee hor | No one else dwells there, - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਤਿਥੈ ਜੋਧ ਮਹਾਬਲ ਸੂਰ ॥ tithai jodh mahaabal soor | except the warriors of great power, the spiritual heroes. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਤਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰ ॥ tin meh raam rahiaa bharapoor | They are totally fulfilled, imbued with the Lord’s Essence. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਤਿਥੈ ਸੀਤੋ ਸੀਤਾ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ tithai seeto seetaa mahimaa maeh | Myriads of Sitas are there, cool and calm in their majestic glory. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਤਾ ਕੇ ਰੂਪ ਨ ਕਥਨੇ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ taa ke roop na kathane jaeh | Their beauty cannot be described. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਨਾ ਓਹਿ ਮਰਹਿ ਨ ਠਾਗੇ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ naa ohi mareh na tthaage jaeh | Neither death nor deception comes to those, - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਰਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ jin kai raam vasai man maeh | within whose minds the Lord abides. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਤਿਥੈ ਭਗਤ ਵਸਹਿ ਕੇ ਲੋਅ ॥ tithai bhagat vaseh ke loa | The devotees of many worlds dwell there. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਕਰਹਿ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਸਚਾ ਮਨਿ ਸੋਇ ॥ kareh anand sachaa man soe | They celebrate; their minds are imbued with the True Lord. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਸਚ ਖੰਡਿ ਵਸੈ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ॥ sach khandd vasai nirankaar | In the realm of Truth, the Formless Lord abides. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥ kar kar vekhai nadar nihaal | Having created the creation, He watches over it. By His Glance of Grace, He bestows happiness. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਤਿਥੈ ਖੰਡ ਮੰਡਲ ਵਰਭੰਡ ॥ tithai khandd manddal varabhandd | There are planets, solar systems and galaxies. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਜੇ ਕੋ ਕਥੈ ਤ ਅੰਤ ਨ ਅੰਤ ॥ je ko kathai ta ant na ant | If one speaks of them, there is no limit, no end. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਤਿਥੈ ਲੋਅ ਲੋਅ ਆਕਾਰ ॥ tithai loa loa aakaar | There are worlds upon worlds of His Creation. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਜਿਵ ਜਿਵ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਤਿਵੈ ਤਿਵ ਕਾਰ ॥ jiv jiv hukam tivai tiv kaar | As He commands, so they exist. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਵੇਖੈ ਵਿਗਸੈ ਕਰਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ vekhai vigasai kar veechaar | He watches over all, and contemplating the creation, He rejoices. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਥਨਾ ਕਰੜਾ ਸਾਰੁ ॥੩੭॥ naanak kathanaa kararraa saar |37| O Nanak, to describe this is as hard as steel! ||37|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਜਤੁ ਪਾਹਾਰਾ ਧੀਰਜੁ ਸੁਨਿਆਰੁ ॥ jat paahaaraa dheeraj suniaar | Let self-control be the furnace, and patience the goldsmith. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਅਹਰਣਿ ਮਤਿ ਵੇਦੁ ਹਥੀਆਰੁ ॥ aharan mat ved hatheeaar | Let understanding be the anvil, and spiritual wisdom the tools. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਭਉ ਖਲਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਤਪ ਤਾਉ ॥ bhau khalaa agan tap taau | With the Fear of God as the bellows, fan the flames of tapa, the body’s inner heat. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਭਾਂਡਾ ਭਾਉ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਤਿਤੁ ਢਾਲਿ ॥ bhaanddaa bhaau amrit tith dtaal | In the crucible of love, melt the Nectar of the Name, - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਘੜੀਐ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਚੀ ਟਕਸਾਲ ॥ gharreeai sabad sachee ttakasaal | and mint the True Coin of the Shabad, the Word of God. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਮੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਾਰ ॥ jin kau nadar karam tin kaar | Such is the karma of those upon whom He has cast His Glance of Grace. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੩੮॥ naanak nadaree nadar nihaal |38| O Nanak, the Merciful Lord, by His Grace, uplifts and exalts them. ||38|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji

ਪਵਣੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਣੀ ਪਿਤਾ ਮਾਤਾ ਧਰਤਿ ਮਹਤੁ ॥ pavan guroo paanee pitaa maataa dharat mehat | Air is the Guru, Water is the Father, and Earth is the Great Mother of all. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਦਿਵਸੁ ਰਾਤਿ ਦੁਇ ਦਾਈ ਦਾਇਆ ਖੇਲੈ ਸਗਲ ਜਗਤੁ ॥ divas raat due daaee daaeaa khelai sagal jagat | Day and night are the two nurses, in whose lap all the world is at play. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਚੰਗਿਆਈਆ ਬੁਰਿਆਈਆ ਵਾਚੈ ਧਰਮੁ ਹਦੂਰਿ ॥ changiaaeea buriaaeea vaachai dharam hadoor | Good deeds and bad deeds-the record is read out in the Presence of the Lord of Dharma. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਕਰਮੀ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੇ ਨੇੜੈ ਕੇ ਦੂਰਿ ॥ karamee aapo aapanee ke nerrai ke door | According to their own actions, some are drawn closer, and some are driven farther away. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਜਿਨੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਗਏ ਮਸਕਤਿ ਘਾਲਿ ॥ jinee naam dhiaaeaa ge masakat ghaal | Those who have meditated on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and departed after having worked by the sweat of their brows - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ ਕੇਤੀ ਛੁਟੀ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੧॥ naanak te mukh ujale ketee chhuttee naal |1| -O Nanak, their faces are radiant in the Court of the Lord, and many are saved along with them! ||1|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਸੋ ਦਰੁ ਰਾਗੁ ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ so dar raag aasaa mahalaa 1 | So Dar ~ That Door. Raag Aasaa, First Mehl: - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ik oankaar satigur prasaad | One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਸੋ ਦਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਕੇਹਾ ਸੋ ਘਰੁ ਕੇਹਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਬਹਿ ਸਰਬ ਸਮਾਲੇ ॥ so dar teraa kehaa so ghar kehaa jit beh sarab samaale | Where is That Door of Yours, and where is That Home, in which You sit and take care of all? - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਵਾਜੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਦ ਅਨੇਕ ਅਸੰਖਾ ਕੇਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਾਵਣਹਾਰੇ ॥ vaaje tere naad anek asankhaa kete tere vaavanahaare | The Sound-current of the Naad vibrates there for You, and countless musicians play all sorts of instruments there for You. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਕੇਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਰਾਗ ਪਰੀ ਸਿਉ ਕਹੀਅਹਿ ਕੇਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਗਾਵਣਹਾਰੇ ॥ kete tere raag paree siau kaheeeh kete tere gaavanahaare | There are so many Ragas and musical harmonies to You; so many minstrels sing hymns of You. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਗਾਵਨਿ ਤੁਧਨੋ ਪਵਣੁ ਪਾਣੀ ਬੈਸੰਤਰੁ ਗਾਵੈ ਰਾਜਾ ਧਰਮੁ ਦੁਆਰੇ ॥ gaavan tudhano pavan paanee baisantar gaavai raajaa dharam duaare | Wind, water and fire sing of You. The Righteous Judge of Dharma sings at Your Door. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਗਾਵਨਿ ਤੁਧਨੋ ਚਿਤੁ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਲਿਖਿ ਜਾਣਨਿ ਲਿਖਿ ਲਿਖਿ ਧਰਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ॥ gaavan tudhano chit gupat likh jaanan likh likh dharam beechaare | Chitr and Gupt, the angels of the conscious and the subconscious who keep the record of actions, and the Righteous Judge of Dharma who reads this record, sing of You. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਗਾਵਨਿ ਤੁਧਨੋ ਈਸਰੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦੇਵੀ ਸੋਹਨਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਦਾ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥ gaavan tudhano eesar brahamaa devee sohan tere sadaa savaare | Shiva, Brahma and the Goddess of Beauty, ever adorned by You, sing of You. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਗਾਵਨਿ ਤੁਧਨੋ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਾਸਣਿ ਬੈਠੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆ ਦਰਿ ਨਾਲੇ ॥ gaavan tudhano indr indraasan baitthe devatiaa dar naale | Indra, seated on His Throne, sings of You, with the deities at Your Door. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਗਾਵਨਿ ਤੁਧਨੋ ਸਿਧ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਗਾਵਨਿ ਤੁਧਨੋ ਸਾਧ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ॥ gaavan tudhano sidh samaadhee andar gaavan tudhano saadh beechaare | The Siddhas in Samaadhi sing of You; the Saadhus sing of You in contemplation. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
